  • thats why you buy whisker biscuit

  • simple fix buy a QAD ultra rest... fletch contact? change to the th1 launcher and good bye flight contact

  • acually u need a rest tht will drop a little later u want it as close to the fletching as u can then its more stable but u also want ur arrow when sitting on the rest to be level

  • thats y i use a wisker buiscut

  • i just ordered that very same drop away rest the other day. when i first saw this video i got really worried about buying it, but with your explanation later on my confidence was restored. this is a great video. keep it up!

  • This can all be avoided by proper setup when you install the rest. Be sure to check with your level to make sure the when the rest is in the Up position that the arrow is sitting perfectly level. For this you need an arrow level and a string level.

  • Whisker biscuit... was the worst idea ever... u lose speed and have contact through out the whole arrow.... not to mention if u twitch even the slightest of twitch.... ur arrow isnt gonna hit where u wanted it... so keep using it... and good luck driving nails

  • thats why you use a whisker biscuit

  • @kbollhunt2010 you can still have the same problem of having the knocking point at the wrong position even if your shooting a whisker biscuit, not to mention you have arrow contact and fletching contact through the entire shot when using a whisker biscuit, and of course there is slower speed because of the friction when using the whisker biscuit, so you keep using your whisker biscuit while the rest of us that use drop aways get the full potential out of our bows

  • so how do you know if your knocking point is too high or low without a highspeed camera?

  • I'm getting the exact problem with my nap quicktune smartrest on my hoyt katera,

Is raising the nocking point the only solution?

    Thanks

  • @vjanda1 Before you intentionally set the bow out of square ... turn the draw weight down to the minimum and try paper-tuning again. If that corrects the problem, then your arrows are probably underspined for your bow output. And keep in mind that aggressive bows like yours typically require a bit more arrow spine than the charts call for. Best of luck.

  • @boomerblue thanks for the advice, appreciated !

  • I personally like the whisker biscut but there both good

  • Be careful with the whisker biscuit lovers!

  • GREAT VIDEO....Shooting a stiffer spine arrow will also HELP reduce this problem......!!!!!THAN

  • yes they bow like that its called archers paradox... look it up.

  • Exactly the problem I've been having, thanks!

  • @cplmorse i have the same going on here with three diff bows set up at the local bow shop. did you get yours fixted and how? Please help me if you can.

  • @lauseng22 I finally got frustrated and put my whisker biscuit back on. Had a few people tell me that that plastic "egg" that comes with it slips constantly throwing the timing off and I should serve it on instead??? Might work. Good luck.

  • yes arrows bow when they are shot. This is calledarchers paradox. If the bow is shot with amechanical release the arrow wil flex up and down. If the bow is shot with fingers it will flex side to side. Search archers parodox. there is some good slow- mo vids on youtube.

  • You know what solves the nock travel issue? Shooting a 2006 Bowtech Tomkat with Binary Cams that are synchronized together so they are always timed correctly. haha. Single cam's are good though. I like the ease of tunability with only the one cam. My uncle shoots a 2002 Bowtech Patriot. Fast bow. He robin hooded it yesterday. Coolest thing I have ever seen.

  • Im not saying you cant get a 1 cam bow to shoot. nock travel ,among other topics ,I wont get into here, is why 1 cam bows create more tuning issues than solve.Hybrid cams are specifically designed to minimize nock travel and have the benefit of have 2 cables and a short string. Ive shot a lil ASA 3D & have shot with some good Mathews shooters & was taken back by theyre nock sets.

  • what rest is that ? quick tune freedom?

  • looks like a Copper Johns rest.

  • thats what you get with a 1 cam bow.

  • this isnt as critical with a cam1/2. You have to nockpoint a 1 cam way high to compensate for nock travel. .

  • Some Mathew's and PSE single cams are perfectly straight. Honestly. Been tested. And Hoyt Cam and a Half systems actually have a very slight downward thrust. Their designers design them to do it, too, for stability and guidance. You can adjust how much nock travel you have with cable twists and can minimize it with "creep tuning".

  • your an idiot....you soundlike you just read an archery book a few minutes before posting your nonsense archery talk

  • can this happon if you have a high nocking point

  • @tilex08 yes i think so but im a beginner so if im wrong dont be too harsh

  • thats one good vid

  • the arrow was shaking before it got to the fleatching

  • Negative. Spine is correct. This oscillation is present even with a slightly overspined arrow.

  • I'd have to agree that the arrow isn't the problem, there isn't much flex in the shaft at all. And as said, even in overspined arrows, they flex to some degree. They have too, they are not perfectly stiff - all arrows flex and oscillate.

  • @boomerblue Then your cam timing/synch are off.

  • That's not the problem at all- the problem is the arrow is not spined properly.

  • Even overspined arrows, like my GT XCutters for instance, will make contact like that if the nocking point is too low, the rest too high or if cam timing (vertical nock travel) is bad.

And I have a seen an Allen brand copy of that rest (CJ Alleycat) at WalMart marked down to only $7.....and perfectly functional if set up properly. And how much does a new Whammy or LimbDriver rest cost? LOL

  • They sell archery gear at Walmart? Man, buying archery gear in the UK sucks...

  • Only cheap items, though. You need to hit the larger or better archery shops. Lancaster Archery Supply is the best I've been to. Check out their website sometime....but you already may have if you're a target archer.

  • Unfortunately I'm in the UK, archery doesn't seem to be as popular over here :S

Or at least our supermarkets/stores don't sell archery gear :(

  • I would'nt want them too either. If they did you would end up with all sorts of Chavs and scumbags walking into ASDA, buying a bow and going out shooting "for a laugh". Somebody would get hurt or killed and archery would be banned. Keep it inside specialist archery shops, for the sake of the sport.
