FFXIII over all si great. very loveable chars, great sotry, amazng music, but the only thing that killed the game for me was the gameplay. whenever i can lay on my back staring up at the celing pressing the A botton and able to find a boss fight. There is something wrong. Other wise it's a great game.

You want your shops? Use the save machines located almost nearly everywhere. That's WAY better than having to go to a certain city just to buy a certain item. Who needs a city when you have big Cocoon and grand Pulse? Those are much more visually attractive compared to cities. You wanted to talk to people? You just go up to them and they talk to you, but remember NPC's like those will never effect the gameplay or story so what's the point at bitching on how linear it was?

@WoWN0oB FF7's characters blew in my opinion. The only character with a decent backstory in 7 was cloud. Tifa - Clouds friend Berret - oh, my friend got shot. Cid - I wanna see space Vincent - enraged vampire thing Yuffie - I'ma ninja Red XIII - I am not human. Zak - not even playable. Square - play a game from the future to know about him Again, just my opinion FFX was linear, yes it's considered to be one of the better Final Fantasy games.

I don't think people UNDERSTAND Final Fantasy XIII. There IS a reason for the straightforward gameplay: You're not on FFVII, where you have people that want to help you, in this one you play as the bringer of the end of the world. NO ONE would want to give you a hand. Also, why so many people complain about "no shops, no cities"? Would it make sense for you to see Osama Bin Laden in Wal-Mart, or walking around town? Please, people.
