Schooling and education are two different things. The opinion I had as a child is the same one I have now and that is that public government indoctrination centers, refereed to as schools, suck.
Finally I believe in anti-depressants although understand most aren't licensed for kids. From my teens I suffered from manic depression although was never diagnosed as I never dared tell. In my 30's I went to my GP & asked for anti-depressants & life is so much better. I wish I had been prescribed Efexor during my teen years as I would have been spared so much. Of course drugs can often be treated as a "magic bullet" & over-prescribed, which I am against, but neither should they be demonised.
Disagree with several points. Mum taught me by look-say when I was 4 & I always credit that for being a fluent reader.
Invented spelling: as long as spelling is gradually corrected this can give kids confidence in their ability. I always believed I was a very good speller but Mum says when I first went to school she queried my poor spelling and was advised to let it go for then. I'm glad she did as I remember always being confident as a writer, and spelling came over time.
I am Canadian - and it's happening here as well. My daughter, in grade one, was a target for Ritalin and labelled as ADHD. She seemed quite normal to me, perhaps was bored. Although they claim grades will improve with drugging and her ability to focus, nothing ever improved and her health became a concern and I seemed to be the only one that cared. I put a stop to the insanity - but met some resistance. That was over 15 years ago, I can only imagine how out of control it is today.

This is so sad and true! We homeschool because all this was happening to us. We have been homeschooling for 5yrs and now see the outcome is so much better than it would have been if they were public schooled.
I made sure my daughter learnt sign language at a young age. So she could communicate to the deaf child in School (the cleverest child in the whole School). Why would Maya feel scared about understanding that there are deaf children. No child is perfection (A scary notion). Every child has obstacles and barriers to overcome. And they learn how to overcome them.
Maya would be more anxious being a deaf child with no-one able to communicate to her.

The major developments of the world were not pushed forward by Schooled individuals. If you look at statistics, when children were being homeschooled their literacy rates were far higher than Schooled children in America. Before the age of 4 children can sponge over 40 languages fluently for later years.

Don't ever let people tell you that you have to vaccinate or have to send your kid to school. If the experiment was isolated in one place it would be too easy to identify. When several components work together (like a machine or buerocracy) it's harder to target the problem, thus allowing a longer time to experiment.

I am so glad that I am not raising my kid in the US and exposed to the US educational system. Don't let your kids watch too much TV, instead try to spend more time with them. And most importantly, adults need to stop watching biased mainstream media such as BBC, CNN and so on. Everything that we watch are deliberately programmed to manipulate our minds.

I want my children to be taught that death is just another natural state when they become energy and are fed back into the world. That's my decision not the government's. If the child grows up to believe in an afterlife and whatever, that's fine by me....but it will be THEIR choice. Nobody else's.

I can't speak for others, but for me the music is in the auditory foreground far too often. It overwhelms the narration, which is really why I am watching the video.

Finally I believe in anti-depressants although understand most aren't licensed for kids. From my teens I suffered from manic depression although was never diagnosed as I never dared tell. In my 30's I went to my GP & asked for anti-depressants & life is so much better. I wish I had been prescribed Efexor during my teen years as I would have been spared so much. Of course drugs can often be treated as a "magic bullet" & over-prescribed, which I am against, but neither should they be demonised.

Disagree with several points. Mum taught me by look-say when I was 4 & I always credit that for being a fluent reader.
Invented spelling: as long as spelling is gradually corrected this can give kids confidence in their ability. I always believed I was a very good speller but Mum says when I first went to school she queried my poor spelling and was advised to let it go for then. I'm glad she did as I remember always being confident as a writer, and spelling came over time.

I am Canadian - and it's happening here as well. My daughter, in grade one, was a target for Ritalin and labelled as ADHD. She seemed quite normal to me, perhaps was bored. Although they claim grades will improve with drugging and her ability to focus, nothing ever improved and her health became a concern and I seemed to be the only one that cared. I put a stop to the insanity - but met some resistance. That was over 15 years ago, I can only imagine how out of control it is today.

Most people these days are using entertainment as a way to avoid looking at what's going on in stead of as a way to recharge their batteries and get back into the fight.

I'm not buying this for two reasons- 1. my daughters now in college did not get their work watered down. And why was our experience one where parents complained that the kids had too much homework.
2. This is not even an anecdotal experience in the video but a generalized riff on a lot of urban myths perpetuated by the same parents who want to blame public schools for how bad they've become.
This is a manipulation of actual facts married to a coercive agenda. It does even more damage to our mess

I made sure my daughter learnt sign language at a young age. So she could communicate to the deaf child in School (the cleverest child in the whole School). Why would Maya feel scared about understanding that there are deaf children. No child is perfection (A scary notion). Every child has obstacles and barriers to overcome. And they learn how to overcome them.
Maya would be more anxious being a deaf child with no-one able to communicate to her.

Sometimes you can agree with a gist of a video but not of its conclusions. Schooling is a new phenomenon for the modern world. The major developments of the world were not pushed forward by Schooled individuals. If you look at statistics, when children were being homeschooled their literacy rates were far higher than Schooled children in America. Before the age of 4 children can sponge over 40 languages fluently for later years.

@markrod420 This is why my husband and I 1) don't vaccinate our daughter (she is 14 months old and has only ever been slightly sick 2x) and 2) will homeschool her. Children are amazing! Don't ever let people tell you that you have to vaccinate or have to send your kid to school. And when you get married, be careful, 'cause a marriage "license" is a contract with Children's Services and the State you live in that they can take your child away if you have one while married.

@theboytiger It's the recommendations to doctors, the water supply, and routine vaccinations. It's a system that perpetuates the drug induction. School is just part of the process. If the experiment was isolated in one place it would be too easy to identify. When several components work together (like a machine or buerocracy) it's harder to target the problem, thus allowing a longer time to experiment.

@craicbaby Vaccines sometimes cause the diseases they're supposed to protect U from. In addition a vaccine has so much harmful chemicals in it that has the potential to cause all sorts of chronic illnesses & autoimmune diseases. Children are vaccinated with numerous vaccines, even before their immune system is properly developed. Thus, I don't see how the benefits outweigh the risks? It's all scare tactics. My younger siblings haven't been vaccinated & they're fine. Good Immune system is the key

I remember when I was in school, that the water tasted like metal out of the water fountains, thats why I tried to avoid it as much as possible. I stopped drinking sink or tap water over 12 years ago. Same with bottled water, yuck. Now time for a diet coke, lol!
