he already got the power he doesn't need more weights he needs to weigh off the weights and do more road work he should start boxing more that teaches you to conserve energy
He is obviously doing circuit training. And besides most fighters and practitioners of combat sport do most of their power lifting on their posterior power chain ( Lower back, gluts and hamstrings also legs) that's where much of your body's power comes from. I am not 100% sure if its the case in mma but it is in wrestling.
@KAJAW69 Because he'd cut to the 250's before fight day. He walks around 280-290 naturally. However, he didn't cut to the 250's because he wanted some size to go up against a big Lesnar.
@duertoadr Jose Aldo walks around in the 160lb range. But is it crap? It's not uncommon for guys in the LW or HW division to cut that much weight. Before Brock's surgery, he walked around at over 300lbs and would cut to 265lbs. Tim Silvia did the exact same thing when he fought in the UFC. Forrest Griffin walks around at 240lbs and cuts to make 205lbs. Anthony Johnson walks around at 220lbs and cuts to make 170lbs
@davidf35 Walking around weight is different than the weight in training camp. When Griffin is not in camp training for a fight, he'll get up to 240lbs; he's even stated himself when asked by Dana. You normally have roughly 3 months to train for a fight. When Griffin's in camp, he'll drop to about 220lbs and shed the rest a day or two before weigh ins. Johnson does the same thing. He's even passed out just trying to cut weight, and sometimes cant even cut all the way to 170.
@davidf35 And if I remember right, in Griffin's book he talks about being 226lbs only three days before a fight in Ireland and that cutting the 21lbs before the weigh-ins was something he could do with ease. The point is that he walks around at 240lbs and during training camp he'll lose around 15-20lbs. Then lose the rest before weigh-ins, which would mostly be water weight.
is it all was about weight lifting, Marius Pudzianovski would be the Champ!!!...but.......and yeah, if Shanes is gonna win, Dana is not gonna be happy, cos Brock is much more money-making champ than Shane........anyway, Fedor best!!!
@SteveSbc406 not the best, but he's all the potential to beat brock, shane, and the current champ Cain.
who else can fight those guys being as undersized as Fedor. he fears no punches, he's too hard to KO, durable, technical and etc etc etc. he used to stick to some gameplans before. sadly I didn't see on in the fight with SIlva.
you know, time goes by, and you change, motivation goes, u need sth else and etc. but you gotta acknowledge what the man has done in his life! he was best in 2005!
@bigtimmy727 It depends what we're lifting that day. During circuit training its low weight high rep; but believe me, virtually all wrestlers, and most fighters have heavy days at the gym. No, we're not knocking out heavy ORM's, but we do mix in sets of under ten reps.
@verano29 Damn people say foolish shit. Were you under the impression that he's lifting toward his max, trying to get powerlifting-like results? He's circuit training for a fight idiot. Did it look to you like he was struggling during those lifts??? Carwin's max bench press is around 650lbs.
@SteveSbc406 Carwin can't bench anywhere near 650 pounds, that would make him one of the most elite powerlifters in the world. Carwin doesn't even bench 500 pounds, he's somewhere in the 4's.
he made it look so damn easy ...
