  • I used to sing in Liberty at the opry quite often. I've been lucky enough to share a stage with him many times.. My family and I have always thought very highly of your father. :-)

  • I'm so excited to find this!!! Awe, look at Lil' Red. :-) He's such an awesome and talented man. As sweet as they come! This is a gem right here..

  • @Beckers77

Thanks Beckers.. Little Red is my Dad... I think he was 19 yrs old in this video.. He's still playing.. watched him perform Sat nite.. I think He gets better everyday..

  • Danced to Little Red Hayes(on left) last month in Navasota TX. Still a TOUGH with the horse hair and rosin!

  • Great Video

  • Does is anyone know where I can find more videos or photos of Johnny Manson? Or of anyone I can contact who knew him back then?

  • Words can't tell how good these boys were! Truly 3 of the best to ever draw a bow! Brings tears to this ol' hogs eyes! This is the kind of music that put Ray in the HOF!

  • Who are the steel and piano players? Hopefully Greenlittlebit can tell us or find out. What a great sound.

  • The Steel Player is Jimmy Biggers, Piano is Burney Annett. Also the Drummers name is Jimmy Dennis.

  • Milburn (Burney) Annett was my uncle and a great piano player. He played with Blackie Crawford, Ray, Red Foley, Pat Boone and was a member of the Lightcrust Doughboys when he died. My grandfather, Marvin Annett taught him to play.

  • Steel player is Jimmy Biggar

  • I stand corrected. I was told it wasent open any more Im glad to hear its still going. I have a Cd with Kevin Carter. Sounds swing to me. Little Red on Fiddle. Oh well.

  • Kevin and Red both made cd's of their favorite songs to sell, be-it swing, gospel or old time favorites. I was mainly commenting about the swing band which i knew was incorrect. Red's my Dad - btw

  • The Opry is still open, they closed for Easter break. Little Red still plays there. Little Red does not play in a Swing Band in East Texas. He does play 1 or 2 nights a month in Huntington along with Kevin Carter, who also plays in the Band led by the Pastor of the Church.

  • Little Red Hayes is playing with a swing band in East Texas. Kevin Carter leads the group. I dont think they have the opry at Liberty Texas, any more

  • Liberty opry is still open and going strong!!!!!

  • hanker95 I was down in Sour lake a few months ago, & I dont think they have the opry in Liberty Texas any more. Little Red Hayes was playing with a swing band, in Hunnington texas. Band leader, name is Kevin Carter. I have cassete tape of little red made quite a few years ago. still sounds good. Hank Ohare, Las Vegas

  • Not bad at all, but for the definitive version, check out Bob Will's version on the cd For the Last Time...truly superlative!

  • Little Red Hayes is still playing every Saturday night at the Liberty Opry, Liberty Texas

  • Dig the pipeing. Man they could sure dress swell back then.

  • Does anyone know the band members names? I think the fiddle player wearing glasses is Carroll Hubbard, and the one to his left might be Johnny Manson.

  • The guy in the glasses is Jimmy Belken. You got Johnny Manson correct.

  • The one on the left is Little Red Hayes, Jimmy Belken in the middle and Johnny Manson on the right.
