  • Nice job man, and bonus points on the traditional grip!

  • 1 - God, 2 - Stewart Copeland, 3 - Anthony Eaton

  • As a massive Police fan, respect x

  • let's not forget that there is probably a second drum track doing all those snare nuances during the verse...hard to do with one guy....great job.

now..i'll deal with all the flack i get for suggesting Stewart played two tracks of drums.

  • Can I request Reggatta de Blanc? I would really like to actually see the intro played correctly, if its even possible.

  • I'm not a drummer, but I could still tell it was YYZ by Rush. :-)

  • This is my favourite Police's song!!! I simply love it!!! I believe the original drum pattern has some overdubbing, because you can hear rolls sometimes while Stewart is playing a completely different part!!! He's like an octopussy, and you have the same characteristic :D :D :D You play very well, you have all my respect and appreciation!!! :D

  • perfect.

  • Can anyone tell me how to play the introduction ? is it a "simple" double-strock roll (+ bass drum) ?

  • SO SICK! NICE JOB BRO!

  • Good job! The tech is in order, very well! Would like to see ya do some own things or so with others. Good luck man :)

  • im 46 and have always been a POLICE fan never seen them live, but seen a few drummers in my time and you Anthony as far as im concerned is the Dogs Bol..x

as i would say take it to the thing BRILLIANT good timing the man him self Copeland

im sure would give you the thumbs up shaneweightman@yahoo.co.uk

  • a good one .. I just do not understand those people who dislike this video ... are they some professional drummers or what? everybody who disliked the video should put a better performance than this is :-)))

  • Great! I have been trying this tune for over ten years, but I can't play even now.

You are Perfect!! Also, your tuning is!!

  • Great cimbals collection!! I think you choose the fastest the police`s song .

    Congratulations

  • Great job, I think this is hard for Copeland himself. And nice YYZ bonus at the end too. How many cymbals do you have, like 50? :O

  • WOW!

you must practice alot! your technique is perfect, plus you are really fast.

I don't know if anyone has said this but the extra song is YYZ by Rush.

yeah, like Isaid at the beginning I thought it was sped up because of Sting's voice, but that is because I'd never heard this song.

  • Left wanting for more yyz, great sounding toms, nice job fella.

  • beast drum cover and kit dude!! Police rules

  • Superb playing.

    Great flams at 2.46.

I first tried this one in 1981, and got no-where near it.

You gave me a lesson there!

    Best wishes.

  • you need a bigger kit.

  • Good job man!

  • nice work dude...all you need is to buy some more cymbals, you dont have enough..lol

  • Hey SA. Thanks for the entertaining version of "No Time" An impossible song to play because of the overdubs on the recorded track ( you need at least 3 arms to play whats on there). Don't sweat the flubbed roll at the end. Stewart Copeland recorded something like 50 drum rolls for that song, and they edited in the best ones. All in all, well done !

  • Thanks! The overdubs on a bunch of the songs are fun to try to play (even if impossible)!

  • @JiffyBiff

    agreed!

  • Like Ringo Starr said.... I just bang the buggers...

  • amazing dude. stewart copeland is one of the best drummers of all time, and u played a very challenging song virtually perfect. phenominal

  • Bravo, niente male

  • whether it's the actual song or your cover, the drums are just phenomenal.

  • dude ur awsome not to mention u do a good job of tunning ur drums and stuff it all sounds great.

  • Pretty good, but you are off ever so slightly on every snare. Plus you do not do the trills, but the song is nearly imposible with the trills included so its expected. YYZ was good. It was just a little strange you cut it half way through the song. Besides that, I applaud you for your efforts.

  • Thanks! But a few notes- this was shot with a different camera, and I could not get it to sync up with the music file laid overtop, so it sounds off because it IS off. This is why I switched to another camera (you can tell by the sound quality, lens angle, and image quality). Hey I can always redo it, right? ;) Another reason why I switched cameras- it only recorded 8mins at a time, hence why YYZ was cut off. Check out my other full cover of YYZ instead.

And those trills are effing hard! :D

  • Very great song of Police and good drummer this boy! :-)

  • Superb!

  • What's the sticking for the flam fill on the first break???

  • verry nice man what kinda kit is that dw??

  • No- Tama Rockstar from the mid 90's

    Thanks!

  • Youve got a loose, laid back, fluid style.

    i diggit.

  • Those are the LP Jam Blocks- they now also come in an even lower pitch (purple) and higher pitch (yellow) than the two I have there. LP makes some great little inexpensive aux pieces- these things are like $35 and virtually indestructible!

  • Stu Copeland would be proud man.

  • The Police are amazing, but in my opinion not as good Rush.

  • Awesome mate!

u make YYZ look easy :)

    great drumming!

  • Excellent mon gars, chapeau, meme si ta 30 ans, elle est baleze celle la a jouer

    Bravo!

  • Excellent Anthony!

Is it possible stronger as Stewart does?

  • Nice job on "YYZ" too!

According to your earlier comment, you're not in a band...that's a shame! Good drummers are hard to find.

    Hope you do well.

  • incredible ; you make it simple to play on the drums, which is not the case ! great job !

  • kinda off time there...

  • Yeah it pisses me off- limitations of editing in iMovie and playing along with a shuffle that plays the track slightly off from what iMovie plays it at. I can get any greater than 2/10ths of a second increments in iMovie (IIRC) and it just wasn't enough to match it up 100%- sorry!

  • And you did that barefoot?! Dude, can I buy you another cymbal?

  • Absolutely! I hate playing in shoes. And my Crash of Doom and 16" Z custom med crash are both cracked so feel free to take your pick. ;)

  • Cracking a Z... that takes some doing. I was more thinking of adding to rather than replacing - you've almost got a bit of room left for some more. Stuart himself would be impressed with your wall of bronze - and I could have saved myself $150 on a Police concert ticket if I'd known about your vid earlier - keep up the great work. Are you playing live anywhere?

  • There can always be more cymbals!

No I am not playing live or with anyone right now- my last band was Wisermind which you can see a few vids of here under my profile (and I'll be adding more soon). I moved out of state a few years back and haven't found anyone/anything quite like my last band (spoiled!).

  • I always wanted to see Stewart(from this angle) perform this song !!! so cool!!... love the percussion of the songs AWE-SOOOMMMEEE, always hated the fact that it fades out when the drumming gets really intense!!!!!

  • ***The percussion of THIS particular song I meant!***

  • Go A!!!!! Stewart better watch his shit!

  • woooooooooo!
