This is such a powerful scene, showing Hurley's love and his agony over what he had to do to protect his fellow survivors. Indeed this has got to be the shortest and possibly the most vivid narrative summary of what happened to them since crashing on the Island! And I love his mom's response - even though she has no idea what he's talking about, she can tell that he is speaking from the heart and what he is saying is completely and profoundly true.

Getting the plane had to take a great level of difficulty, but what's even more difficult is having the bodies all be counted for and then placing all of this at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. @thattotally No, Widmore is the reason the oceanic 6 had to lie. Widmore went through all of the trouble to have them announced dead for a reason. He didn't want anybody to know where they actually were, the island. If Widmore was capable of all that to keep the island shrouded in secrecy then what could he possibly have done to the O'6 crew if they had talked anything about the island.
