  • So 60's ... I LOVE IT .... Thank you :-)

  • The Davey Jones (of MONKEES fame) cut out with the organ grinder girl was a nice touch.

  • This is from the initial telecast of "MALIBU U.", on July 21, 1967 (I bought the record the day this originally aired). Apparently, only this black and white kinescope of the original color videotape exists...

  • @fromthesidelines That was interesting information. I thought this was a b/w show. There's however a color clip of Spock singing a song from this show on Youtube.

  • I don' t see any way this wasn't lipped....But an amazing find!

  • Simply my favorite song of all time!

  • Great tune! This video is NEW YORK CITY visiting Ca beaches!

  • Hmmm, not sure if black tie and suits on the beach works.

  • Very impressive. Incredible find. I've never seen any performance of this great song by the Seasons.

  • I've never seen this video before so thank you so much for sharing it with us xox

  • One of my favorite Seasons' tunes. Thanks very much.

  • My dad and uncle wrote this :P Never seen this video before. Thanks for uploading!

  • Deserved a higher chart position lost out in my opinion since i was 13 when released most of my.friends were begining to get the Munchies! Catch my drift?

  • Thanks for posting this its great to keep the memories of this music alive instead of the junk that is here now

  • Cool song, off-beat video. Thanks for the post !

  • More than likely this clip was from the Malibu U show that was hosted by Rick Nelson that summer.

  • wow.... this has got to be from Where the Action is......probably from a so.cal beach too...................do you know for sure,??,,all the clips were always in location shots......great clip...great song, thanks..

  • @ltlieu61 It's from a 1967 show called "Malibu U.", hosted by Rick Nelson. Only seven episodes were made (between July and September).

  • @SixtiesPopGold thanks,,,,,,,never heard of that one.....i ll have to keep it on my radar....

  • Fantastic, I´ve never seen a video of c´mon marianne before, that was really nice to see, thank you:)

  • That's super neat, thanks for sharing this! This was always a favorite of mine (actually all of the Opus 17 and later recordings are favorites and deserve the same recognition that early hits do)

  • @mindcage2000 Opus 17 was the first recording that 'new' bassist Joe Long played on. I really think The 4 Seasons sound matured and improved after he was added to the group. Also check out the recordings they did on Motown in the early 70s.

  • I was just thinking how "Beach Boys" this sounds. Kind of funny when you think that the 4 Seasons and BBs both started out as doo wop groups on opposite coasts of the US. By '67 doo wop was history but both groups had managed to develop it into something very much in keeping with contemporary styles. I'm probably asking for a fight by saying this but really I think that in terms of production and songcraft this is up there with the best stuff the BBs ever did.

  • Wow! I've had this song in my head ever since the 60s. For some reason I had an idea that it was by The Marmalade. Of course I should have noticed the trademark 4 Seasons vocal style all over it but still it comes as a complete surprise to me to find that it was actually them - guess I just never thought they could rock out this much. Absolutely great song. What a blast!

  • @songsamsung Maybe you meant Grapefruit, who had a hit in the UK with the song.

  • @SixtiesPopGold Yes! I just watched a clip of Grapefruit doing it on Beat Club. That must be the version I remember. I guess you can understand how easy it might be to get Marmalade and Grapefruit confused. Back in the '80s I was searching for Marmalade's non-existent version when (only to add to the confusion) I found their great single "Wait For Me Marianne". Stil I had this nagging feeling that there was something more to the story. Thanks so much for putting me in the picture! Great song!

  • C'mon Marianne was co-written by L. Russell Brown. He also co-wrote many hits for Tony Orlando and Dawn.

  • They had to keep up with the changes in the style of pop music and they did, eventhough it was for a little while longer than their counterparts.

  • Different for 'The Four seasons".........

  • The Four Seasons were on a roll with the string of singles that began with Girl Come Running in 1965 through Watch The Flowers Grow in late 1967. They got more and more adventurous with every single that was released between those two, as C'mon Marianne more than underscores. Love it!
