Your Vintage SeaWorld Shamu shows are my favorite videos ever. it is most awesome you sharing this with everyone. What a rare and special treat. thank you so much.
They really did use to be educational, it's sad the shows became so circus-like. The same thing happened with the Shedd Aquarium. There was absolutly no reason to take them out of the wild or keep them in small tanks for shows like the ones seaworld puts on today. It's sad, they have the oppurtunity to educate millions and make a huge difference with the enviornment. But instead seaworld puts up giant revolving tv screens and markets human-dolphin relationships...
Good footage (5/5), I don't know why but I like old footages. And don't believe them if they say those in the video were Shamu and Baby Shamu because the real Shamu died in 1971 and Baby Shamu (Kalina) has lived in SeaWorld Orlando since she was born.
but visitors arent interesstet in all names. that to much. for people who want to know, they have other attracktion like dinner with etc. but should you remember names like kyquote, taku, kohana? also we learn in school, that we should talk in presentation more about facts and not about names, cause than no one would listen. btw so seaworld only want to make it easier for visitors and any of it are "secrets" like many say..
They were so educational back then in shows, gotta miss that. Orkid is adorable in this as well as her mama. Corky looked no different thatn that of today.

The HSUS and WSPA maintain that exposure
to live captive animals does exactly the opposite
of what the industry rhetoric claims: instead of
sensitizing visitors to marine mammals and their
habitat, it desensitizes humans to the cruelty
inherent in removing these animals from their
natural habitats and holding them captive. Naomi A. Rose PhD.-2009
