I don't think it's a cover, but I'm pretty sure that it's being played at the wrong speed. Is it off of vinyl? I think it's set for 33 rpm instead of 45 rpm. I have this on vinyl, and it sounds deeper. It's not just Tom's voice, even the guitars sound too high on this version.
