Something like 18% federal VAT, 100% sales tax on cars,gas and the like, income taxes up to 65% margin, national health tax etc... Then the federal budget could get balanced but with dramatic downgrading of the standard of living. The numbers taken from various other countries, those already have 8$/gal.

No, It may not happen that way. What may happen is a dramatic increase of taxes across the board with new taxes added. Something like 18% federal VAT, 100% sales tax on cars,gas and the like, income taxes up to 65% margin, national health tax etc... Then the federal budget could get balanced but with dramatic downgrading of the standard of living. The numbers taken from various other countries, those already have 8$/gal.

we are broke as a nation and red china is building aircraft carriers and subs. we lost the trade war with china. they won and we lost. free trade did not work for us. our treasury has no treaure. the u.s. treasury is flat broke. what an example for our kids.
