@aridaymad If I'm not mistaken, its a solo from another band and song. I think its called "Butterfly" from Crazy, or something like that. I 'm pretty sure that was a cover by John, filled in with his own genius of course.

That my friend, is a travesty of a comment.

WIthout Jimi Hendrix, there is no Flea, there is no John Frusciante. Hell, there isn't even a Hillel Slovak or Dave Navarro. Every single one of those musicians that I listed, along with countless others, would disagree with you. Hendrix, besides being the best guitarist of all time, is one of the most important musicians in history.

@koolmaaan I agree he is one of the best, but you can't say he is still the best in my opinion. Everyone had his influence, maybe it wasn't even music, just the thing you need. I still think John is a better musician right now.

The problem with this logic is that your forgetting that John Frusciant's style is very heavily influenced by Hendrix. JF even says that there is not a single other musician that has had a bigger impact on his life than Hendrix. So much of what he does on the guitar screams Hendrix, from his riffs, to his blues inflections and solos.

Also, you says John is a better musician "right now". You can't compare the two in that regard because Hendrix is dead.

@koolmaaan I not stupid man... Of course I know that but it's not only his influence... You're not better when you're a influence for someone, John is a influence for millions of bands right now who will make a new generation of music. John has his own style plus influences of Jimi, etc.

I never said you were stupid. I just feel that your logic doesn't make sense.I'm not denying that JF is a major influence on musicians, because he is. But his whole style of playing is so influenced by Jimi.

But if we are simply talking about who is a better guitarist, I still would have to say Hendrix. Without him, there is no chilli peppers, no janes addiction, god so many other bands. He changed the face and sound of music forever, and he changed the guitar.

Also, I hate using this logic,because it doesn't mean that your wrong. You obviously are still completely entitled to your own opinion. But Hendrix is widely regarded as the best guitarist of all time. Just think about the state of music before he came out and everything that proceeded. He was only really making music for less than a decade and his influences are still heard today. I STILL listen to Hendrix records to think of blues licks. And it still sounds current.

They didn't.... Crazy Town ripped that melody off... lets just take a look at the timeline; mothers milk came out in the late 1980's, and even if they did a massive tour for two or threee years thats still about 8 to 10 years before crazy town came out with that single.

@jks2 it is the same thing tom morello does in "Township Rebellion" you pick behind the nut on your headstock and bend your whammy arm up and down. that sounds a little different on every guitar so you wont exactly get the sound there unless you have that exact guitar
