Since watching your videos, I have bought the XS8 and have it linked up with Cubase 5. I am curious, do you produce most of your music on the on board pattern editor or in cubase.

Hi, as you can see, my earlier compositions were produced with internal sequencer of motif xs in a pattern mode. But for some time I stopped producing with it and change internal sequencer to cubase AI4.

Q - Do you connect the camcorder to the mixer? It sounds like you're playing an audio/mp3 file...and not sound like its being played from the camcorder recording..

you are right.

I don't use camera MIC to record audio in my vids.

Audio outputs of motif xs are connected directly to my sound card.

I have this wonderful machine, but its taking me months of reading the manual and even forked out for the dvd video, but still I can't find the sequencer use that easy and can't find the inspiration :(

Pay attention on how songs are made.. try and fool around with it.. most songs have intro first arrange chorus first arrange chorus second arrange chorus end try to create something stupid like this sequence with piano bass drums using the right amount of counts like 4 bars for one thing most of the time using the same base of thinking... fool with it.. there's no much of logic.. best wishes.. this model doesn't have any built-in speakers, so you need at least headphones to hear anything, also can be an amplifier plus speakers, or avtive monitors.

Can you record other drum tracks and mix them with the one in the song, like an loop in overdub or other pattern running at the same time in some sections of the song?

And about this pattern, can you control the snare's volume apart from snare's volume, for example?
