  • It's an important message, and only a company as big as Unilever could afford to show it during the superbowl halftime, but remember, advertising works. The fact that Unilever own AXE (a brand whose adverts feature constant objectification of women and support unrealistic male body image) just shows that there's no moral agenda in place whatsoever. Ask yourself whether you think Unilever would still support female body diversity if they couldn't show the Dove logo to 90m people.

  • @LadyNemesis2007 It's affective because you got the meaning out of it.

All of the girls had something they wanted to change on the outside.

When they really are beautiful, just the way they are.

  • All the girls in the video WERE beautiful...... none were really ugly so how was it affective?

  • How sleazy, using emotional blackmail to sell soap.

  • how brilliant to show this commercial during the Super Bowl whwere let's face it is a majority of men watching. This brought tears to my husband's eyes! great job!

  • Wait so Dove is going to bring out their inner beauty? Doesn't that contradict their message?

  • "We see a series of shots of young women of all colors" . . . . Yea, not really.

  • boohoo, you chicks need to grow a pair. you can't have equality when you desire empathy because you feel insecure

  • That really mean you know. I know that I'm ugly, compared to even the people on this ad, but i don't care about that compared to what those poor people out there are thinking.

  • this commercial brings tears to my eyes everytime.i have so much respect for the dove company, every girl does deserve to feel beautiful about themselves and this is one of many ways to bash those bs stereotypes of what beauty really is.

    5/5 dove^^

  • @sessy2010 fun fact: did you know dove is owned by the same company that owns AXE?

  • @jotheexcellent fun fact: yes I did. That doesn't take away from their individual message. Girls still deserve to feel beautiful no matter who's affiliated with who. Good day.

  • @sessy2010 touche! i do agree with u! i just thought it was weird 2 vastly different companys would be owned by the same people.

  • "An excellent spot that breaks out of the standard Super Bowl ad mold is for Dove, a company that's purposely chosen to break the "always-use-skinny-models" mold. Using the familiar and affecting ly...

YEAH, MEN NEED TO SEE THAT COMMERCIAL!

  • Very GOOD commercial. To me and most of guys, we like girls who just are themselves and girls who respect themselves. In the end, Good Girls attract Men or Boys. Thats for real!

  • Are you sure O__o? I never feel comfortable around guys just looking like myself.. and I don't try to put on makeup either.. that just takes too much time.

  • Reach out and Poke u- LOL> It is okey if you don't want to wear makeup. I think you need to feel comfortable in your own skin. LOVE YOURSELF!!! I got to admit some guys will only see the outside, not the inside potential in a girlFCUK Them!! In the end, a girls personality matters more than what a girl looks like on the outside. TRUST Me?

  • Nice commercial, good meaning. If Dove products weren't total crap this would make me buy them. :)

  • i sang in this commercial with my girl scout chorus. the girl in the beginning was my friend stella and it was so much fun singing this song. we're the girl scout nassau county chorus and we rocked in this. look us up on google im not kidding!!!

  • the girl in very beginning isn't "Stella"

    her name is Alexa.

    she's my best friend.

  • okay whatever

maybe the comercial guy went to several different places to get singers.

all im saying is the girl is Stella, but I'm not going to fight over something so stupid with you because I don't even know who you are, and quite frankly, I don't care

  • lmao, wtf?

fight? why would i waste my time on you?

once again.. her name is Alexa

  • okay fine, if it helps you get to sleep at night then her name is Alexa

    I really don't care

It's just funny that you're saying you wouldn't "waste your time" on me and you keep commenting back.

if you think this is a waste of time then drop it, it's not even that important.

  • this song really helped me!

  • were r the boys

  • good message ~ great commercial

the girl in the glasses at the very beginning went to my school

  • so moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooi

    I like this

  • Does anyone know where to get this version of the song?

  • it was only made for this commercial, my cousin sang in this.

  • That actually made me cry...

  • but all the girls are pretty in this video

  • thats kinda the point. we all view ourselves differently than others view us. this ad was written with actual comments from actual adolescent girl's view of themselves, (not that the actress is the girl who made the comment though). anyway we need to teach women to see themselves with different eyes, less judgemental eyes. i've heard so many skinny girls talk about how fat and ugly they are, so many beautiful people who only can see the flaws. its hard to view yourself as you actually are.

  • revolution grrrl style now

  • This is a good message to girls to be themselves.

  • awe, that's sweet.

    =]

  • wonderful message

  • i know the girl that is singing

  • I know the girl with the red hair before the girl that says I hate her freckles :)

  • not the first girl in the begining though

  • OMFG, I SANG IN DIS COMMERCIAL!!!

  • w/ GSNC, no joke!

  • omg!! how can i get a copy of this song?

  • this is beautiful

  • can u email me the original file of this video?

  • Just as "likethestatega" said this comercial means too much to many teen girls. I wish they passed it more often rather than fast foot or beuty products comercials. Even when the beauty sterotypes never will be erased totally I think that if everyone belives that they are pretty for themselves this would be a better place.

  • I think Unilever, parent company of Dove, would do a better job for girls' self esteem if they just stopped with their Axe and Slim Fast ads.

  • Great video. I'm a teacher working with teenagers and I understand what it means !!!

The campaign in Argentina added the phrase like this: Get next generation free from beauty stereotypes.

I'm going to add it to my blog to share with my students.

  • y is it called super bowl such and such ? ? ?

  • cause this commercial was played at the super bowl.

  • no but i saw a dvd of beind the scenes of them singing in nyc making the song being recorded and this is what you hear now

  • my friends are singing in the commercial

  • Do you have they singing in audio?

  • great!!!

    this is nice!

  • PERFECT!

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • retarded

  • how is that retarded u must be the one is a retart..stupid ass

  • dam your stupid. this means so much to many girls and teens. i watch this video almost everyday just to try and remind myself of this.
