Give this man his props. It's a beautiful song and he's singing it with sincerity. It's just that this gentleman here is a bass/baritone and Levi Stubbs is a tenor. Our singer here is singing the melody CORRECTLY, but one octave down. I would like to hear this gentleman sing a real bass song that might suit his range more, like Brook Benton's "Rainy Night In Georgia" or Lou Rawls' "You'll Never Find" or "Natural Man" or Grover Washington's "Find One Hundred Ways".
Thanks here for the compliment, but it was Quincy Jones/James Ingram's "One Hundred Ways" from the 1981 A&M Records LP: "The Dude" and not Grover Washington. Also, I'm not trying to sound like either Lou Rawls, Levi Stubbs, Brook Benton or any other male singer. I'm just enjoying myself singing a Four Tops Motown tune from 1965 off my "Motown Master Recordings-Original Artist Karaoke" CD from the Singing Machine! Thanks for the encouragement!
@rasputin63 I was reading a little about The Tops, Levi was a Baritone, but the songs were written for a Tenor, hence the urgency in the way he sung it. IDK any other singer like him.
I give the man credit for trying cause God knows he can't sing. That's why I give him so much credit for recording it and posting it here. Good for him.
Dude---kudos for even trying to sing the best 4 Tops song ever recorded. I've never heard anyone attempt it at karaoke. Anyone who tries to bring up the Tops is going to get your video, too. I hope it's your million dollar song on "Don't Forget the Lyrics".
I love ya bro, don't quit yer day job!!

You're right rasputin63 give this man his due. It's not the easiest song to sing but he sings it with the utmost conviction.
WTG Chicago10281 you have the courage of your convictions & that in itself speaks volumes.

Thank you for that kind comment, northernsmile, I was thinking, I may redo this one in stereo version!

And why not! Go for it! Personally I would keep it mono in keeping with the original ;0)

There's something strangely enchanting about this guy - it's a shame he can't sing! Can't help but like him though.
