If you don't like capitalism, why not move to a socialist state? Why be a "slave to the system"? By the way, capitalism isn't an economic system that has "failed the majority of the US populace". If that were true, the majority would not be able to support themselves, and this clearly isn't the case. It was the case in the USSR though, when people had to wait in line to try to get a small meal to feed their families. But lets ignore that, right? Only failures of capitalism hate capitalism.

In reference to the constitution we all have these, "inaliable rights". We all have the right to better our lives and that in part means we all have a right to healthcare.
Our employers certainly aren't going to make sure we have it, and the insurance companies aren't going to make sure it's affordable to us all. So the government must step in.

The economy fluxes no matter what system its under. And if you had been paying close attention, you would see that the economic troubles of the US was shared by other countries. Another point I'd like to make is the fact that the housing crisis and subprime mortgage issue had alot to do with the recession.
