they broke up due to conflict between the two guitarists and one of their members is heavily addicted to drugs. i don't think the libertines did a very good job at learning from the mistakes of the clash
I once saw him pissed out his head taking a shit behind a bus in Great Yarmouth in about 2 years ago, he then pulled up his kecks without wiping his arse and the promptly stood in his own mess before staggering off , put me right off him after that
The Libertines are very similar to the Clash. Train in Vain sounds quite Libertine-ish, so does London's Burning a bit. A Libertines reformation would be a great thing.
what ear was this? and ffs dpt are shocking and babysambles are okey i suppose but the libertines were the fukin legends why cant sum1 just give them a shit load aof cash and say reform libertines and start writing a new libz album
it's one thing to hope for a libs-reunion, another thing to demand one. i think the lads should finish all the projects they have on their own and then work through all their issues and after that decide if they want to go back to the libertines. it's their choice, and we should just appreciate that they gave us two albums and a load of other material, and keep our fingers crossed for a reunion if we want to - but not pressure them.
its their choice correct and should we appreciate it no the libs wernt a band they were a following, take the fans away from anyband what do you have? .. an unsigned band you take away all the albums bought from them and what are they? nothing what does this tell you? we the people who love there music gave them the oportunity to do this and they didit but when the tables turned and they made there money they got selfish and forgot there roots what did they leave behind?the fans (see other reply)
you have to remember the people who put you in the drivers seat and them people are the fans, the record label wont touch you unless you have brilliant music and a large follwoing, and you say we should appreciate there decision, mate they should respect our wishes and return as not just a band but a following.

How can the Clash sound Libertine-ish? It's the other way around!

None of the clash songs sound anything like the libertines......... If anything, libertines songs would sound like the clash!
A love both bands though!

Well in the most recent interviews I've seen and heard, Pete says he's trying to twist Carl's arm and that it will happen in the next few years.

did you see Carl give the fingers at the end????? hahahaha
kevinemitchell 2 years ago 5
Strange, but Carl resembles a young Joe Strummer-some mannerisms, facial expressions, even down to his nasal, deep vocal tone-kind of eerie.
