Biggest problem with habu is that the toxin causes tissue necrosis at the bite site. I've seen Okinawans missing hands and feet becuase they got bit in a cane field and couldn't get to a doctor in time. Someone told me they were about as poisonous as a copperhead. They're just pretty aggressive, esp. before hibernation and coming out of it, when they're really hungry.
@TerranceReese913 Thank you for your reply. You mentioned the bite of the Habu cannot kill but that would really depend upon each person's resistence to the snake's toxins. There was reprted deaths from seemingly non posionous snakes such as a hog nosed snake in America.
So regarding the Habu, let's say I wouldn't want to put that one to test and would prefer to view it from afar if at all. ;D
I didnt know there still was very many Habu left in the wild in Okinawa because of all the building up there. Wow, that is a large one. good thing you got inside!
Yes Habu snakes are posionous and can kill you if you don't seek medical attention after you recieve the bite

That's a long ass snake. In Okinawa they use the habu's venom to make Habu Saki, which can get you very drunk and twisted.
