  • It would be nice if the IDE-connector was shown. The old cables/drives can be installed the wrong way as there are no tabs to guide them the right way.

  • Yes but we aren't talking 2.5" HDs but CF2IDE adapters here. My adapter uses a 40 pin IDE connection and has an extra power connector. It has the size of a 2.5" HD so it fits the HD holder in the A1200 perfectly.

  • @Jawattdenn This video is about 2,5" HDs, I've made another video about CF cards as hard disks though, perhaps you commented the wrong video... anyways, I used in that video one of those cheap adapters you can buy from ebay for a few bucks and it did not need any power cable.

  • I replied to the guy asking about a CF adapter.

  • Does this thing not need a poer cable on the hard drive? I want to do this with the CF adaptor but the only adaptors im seeing are saying they are powered by a floppy power connector of which there are only 1 inside the amiga, used on the floppy drive.

If Poss i'd like to have the floppy and the flash drive both going together.

  • Buy an Y power cable.

  • @Jawattdenn No, it does not need any powercable. There is not even any place where you can stick a power cable on a 2,5 drive :)

  • I got a question, does the amiga 500 has a 3 1/2 disk drive also???? becouse mine 1581 disk drive is shot, and I have a bunch of disk for that thanks man!

  • uhmm, yes, the amiga 500 has a 3,5" diskdrive, but does not read 1581 disks? worth mentioning is also that you can not add a 2,5" or 3,5" ide harddrive to a standard Amiga 500 or 500+, you can only install custom made Amiga 500 hard drives on the Amiga 500 unless you have installed some rare ide/scsi controller...

  • awesome! did it ready work?

  • yes, it did, but I prefer the Compact Flash harddrive solution since it has no noise, is faster and takes less power allowing you to add more addons to the amiga without needing to change original power supply.
