  • A true fan of Switch from the beginning! This song brings back so many wonderful memories. RIP Bobby. You are loved and missed.

  • Aww yeh yeh aww yeh yeh Ooo Yeh yeh Ooo yeh yeh, its got a Peace of mind that takes my hurt away. Sang it why dont cha!

  • OMG!!! I was just getting ready to ask everybody if anyone knew where I could find this song!!! I haven't heard this jam since I was 17 yrs old. Thank you so much for posting favorite Switch song ever!!! I remember sitting my bedroom, smokin' up and singing my ass off to this jam over and over with my mom yelling at me to sing louder and louder. Then I would break out the Confunction slow jams and get my groove even more. Wish I could still that high today!!! You know what I'm saying???

  • love it

  • Excellent! Some classic "end of the night" disco era slow jams. Was that Bobby DeBarge on the highs?

  • Besides "Calling All Girls", the other Switch "GREAT" was, "I Wanna Be With You"... Dam, those were the days! I still have the SWITCH album by Switch in mint condition in plastic! :-)

  • This is the song that was playing when I got my first real big girl kiss, while slow dragging!!! yeah I said it...slow dragging....He was 16 and I was 14...***sigh***

That was the best 4:00 minutes I ever had vertically...lol

  • This is one of the first songs I truly fell in love with..... this is when music meant something. It was the kind of music that made you want to go out and find someone to call your own. The voices of Mr. Ingram and Mr. DeBarge were a hell of a combination. The best.... Thanks for the memories!

  • @TheThutt1 Was he his name Phil Ingram? It's been so long since I listened to this group I don't remember anymore. But you are so right about the vocals being so perfect together, especially for this song. Man they just don't make music like this anywhere anymore. It's a cryin' shame we are stuck with this BS these days.

  • @Grinagain67 Yes his name is Phillip Ingram, and you are right we don't have anyone out right now who can touch Switch. I don't even think anyone is trying to bring back the soulful sounds. Maybe if we had more love songs there would be less violence. Can U Feel Me?!!!!!! I think that you can!!!!

  • @TheThutt1 Most definitely my friend! This beat your mom, rape your sister and take your dog's virginity music out now is so violent and disrespectful to every race, both genders, and goes against everything we are all about.

  • This actual album was the first LP I ever owned. I was 13 and a hopeless romantic. Classic!! Aww, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah, yeah. Sexxy!

  • This is my absolute favorite Switch song. I know other ones are probably more popular but this one makes me melt. As a teenage girl I could relate to trying to find someone to call my own. The voices blend so beautifully and Phillip Ingram and Bobby DeBarge are absolutely perfect leads.

  • .............No - I can't think of one group today that is in the same calibre. This is why we have these fantastic groups and awesome music, whose legacy continues to live on.

  • Please tell me if there any groups today who can sing like this??????

  • High School jam!!

  • It's gotta someone who take my hurt away.

  • yeah this is og right here...alot of people sleeping on this single...

  • No one will ever be able to duplicate that natural falsetto of the late great Bobby DeBarge. His voice was one of a kind. And yes, Eldra is good, but he even said that his idol was his big brother Bobby. now that was made props. Bobby rest in peace and remember that you were the greatest in my book.

  • Yes! You're Right About That!!

  • Ooooooo this was the jaaammmm back in the day even though I was in the 8th grade, I was definately listening!!!!!!!!

  • Hearing music like these classics make me feel so blessed to have been around to hear it and old enough to understand and appreciate it.

  • Bobby Debarge had the best falsetto ever. I was in the 8th grade when this came out. A timeless classic.

  • These boys were the truth you dig ?Absolute classic love song, thanks for the memories*

  • rip bobby u were the greatst u will be missed thanx 4 calling all girls ..

  • I absolutely love this song! I finally found a compilation CD containing this song, "winning combination" which is debarge and switch music. Enjoy!

  • @sdmredmond - I got the same album ... two greats in One!

I bought the cd particularly for this bad cut.

  • Switch member Phillip Ingram is the brother of singer James Ingram. They grew up with and went to school with Howard Hewitt of Shalamar. All are from Akron, OH.

  • I never knew or thought about that ! now that U mention it they do look alike James is just more lighter complexion...I knew about James & Howard

  • ihave alot of switch debarge and alot of ol school r &b perry and sanlin kingsman and dazz and more

  • I hear you in the background vocals Jermaine.. :)

  • days gone by..but never forgotten..

  • OMG! Thank you for posting this song! I've been looking for it for SO LONG! This is by far my favorite Switch song! What many people don't know is that Jermaine Jackson was executive producer of this album and sung back up on this song. Listen to the voices.....you'll here him at the end. Thanks again!

  • @E40DRINKS Yep...you can CLEARLY hear Jerm singing the hook at the end.

  • this song is one of the reason i love switch and bobby so much, i love this song, may u r.i.p.bobby, to me u had and will alway'shave that sexy voice, miss u. 11-02-09.

  • R.I.P. Bobby DeBarge

  • Damn. These guys could do it all! Ballads, funk, etc. And, hot as hell too!

  • DAMN!!! I haven't heard this in over 20 years!!!! WOW!!!

  • oh bobby !was tha best ..y did god need him already

  • Pretty good. I didn't know if I was gonna dig it until the later 1/2 of the song. This should've been in the 'Best of Switch' CD.

  • I agree; this should have been on the CD.

  • hands down the best switch song ever this is my favorite switch song of all time-pure badd ass

  • A GREAT LOST JAM

  • This song still pulsates my heart to rhythmic smooth relaxation. Although the song is "Calling On All Girls", it makes me only think of one. The one who I want to be with so bad. My soulmate, my missing rib. Definitely a smoove groove. Thanks for posting.

  • Words can't describe how much i love this song! Purely angelic! Switch 4 life!

  • Does any one hear Jermaine in the background? True Jackson sound!!!!

  • Yes! Jermaine wrote this song and is singng one of the 4 hooks at the end of the song. Awesome sound when all 4 hooks start at 2:50

  • what part is jermaine singing at exactly?

  • 2;50= U know i need u.U know i want u. it's got tobe someone to take my hurt away!

  • Jermaine is in there??? I would have NEVER GUESSED until I read these comments.

  • This is a stone cut. It takes me back down memory lane........Old school...'for real !

  • Yes it is a fav of those who had a blue light in the basement at da partay. I know ya'll remember this one. mmmmmmm belly rubbin record.

  • yes, this could be considered a FAVORITE switch tune. no air-play? that's okay. it is a red-light basement party classic. "okay, ladies it's time to slow dance."

  • come on aliquippawill, you are definitely entitled to your opinion but your FAVORITE switch tune. This song hardly got any play and i dont even remember it. But to each its own

  • My God! It's been a little more than a minute since I've had the pleasure of savoring this classic! "Calling On All Girls" is, without debate, my personal, all-time favorite Switch tune. When Motown issued a "Millenium Collection" edition of the greatest hits of Switch, the fact that this "diamond" wasn't included in the collection was a definite downer. The 70's were not only my High School & College years, but also my favorite musical era, BY FAR! Switch had a major impact on that period.

  • In my top 10 songs of all time to try to get a kiss off of a new girl to.

  • this is a extremely hard to find song.. calling all girls

  • Old school in da house--I love this slow jam!- Phlilip Ingram sings this with so much emotion and feeling and I love Bobby Debarge's effortless falsetto- this music brings back so many memories-Switch was so underrated- what a talented group of brothas- and they were oh, so fine...

  • WOW....such a classic. I was in 9th grade at the time and bring back many GREAT memories..

    Thanks for posting.....

  • Yes it does btinsley!!! I broke my neck to find this song... I had to HAVE IT. My heart loves this song to no end. Beautiful all the way around!!!

  • My lady loves this song to no end.

  • Kudos to Jermaine Jackson for recognizing THE AWESOME TALENT OF THESE BROTHERS!!!

Because of you and Motown we were blessed with some of the BEST music of our generation!

  • This is my favorite Switch song. So beautiful and Bobby just killin' it! Reminds me of skating at the Loop Skating Rink on the South Side of the Chi in the late 70's, early 80's.

  • its a shame that so much drama comes with the greatest voices of our time. May they all RIP. Thank you jermain jackson for writing some of these great songs and recognizing a great group.

  • @lookafterlove Jermaine has discovered some of the most talented people. Add Whitney Huston and Stephnie mills to the list.

  • All I say is in the 80s I put my best chick snacthin threads on shined my ride like glass, fresh peach tree in the rearveiw, and a mix tape of Switch, Debarge, Luther,Marvin, and Anita str8 killen the females. But this music showed me how to be gentle towards women. Approach them as soft as Bobbies voice and you will be doing fine. Keep this music away from ghetto women they like being slapped around and hearing crazy music.
