I really don't think the Cancer was affecting him yet. If you remember, he came back to break a track record in the last win of his career. This was just simply better horses than he had ever faced before.
I do. The vet told his owners that the massive cancer in his body could have been growing for up to a year before his death. It's nearly certain that he at least had the cancer in his final career victory.
i seriously think lost in the fog caught that cancer before this race. if you remeber... somehow lost his next race at golden gate on a track he absolutly loved with no excuse.
Gee, they must have had one heck of an objection on that one. Taste of Paradise came twice with a full head of steam. Sad for Lost in the Fog, would have improved his legacy with a win here.
Edgars 2nd win on the card that day, and he would have had 3 if the scary owners of Saint Liam didnt bump him for Jerry Baily.

This horse was with cancer all over his body at this point. It was a brillant effort just to race, his legacy has long been cemented as great!
