  • Thanks alot man really helped out ive seen over 50 videos of skull crushers and i felt something wass wrong and i watched this video and now i feel like im doin em right thanks

  • @Element11Dark - thanks so much for the comment and the compliment. I hope you will get the results that you want. Baz

  • Great videos! Quick question. On skull crushers, is it best to keep the weight lighter so your form doesn't suffer?

  • @nhoover777 - yes form is more important then the amount you can lift badly. Baz

  • When ever i do skull crushers with dumbbells my elbows kinda hurt but they dont hurt when i do other exercises just skull crushers...

  • @LuisLegnd007 - stop doing them. There are other exercises you can do that are just as good. Dips, tricep push downs, kickbacks and even overhead extentions if they do not hurt. Baz

  • hey baz just out of curiosity, whats your height/weight (kilos)?

  • @fen107 - I am around 5'10" and weigh about 90kgs. Baz

  • george bush just got swoleeee

  • @BATTLEFEELD3 - I think healthy training can turn old people into much younger people. Baz

  • Holy shiz your tips work!! Thanks a bunch

  • @jumshid - thanks for that. I am glad you are finding them useful. Baz

  • A beefy robert deniro lol

  • @FourTwennyTHC - lol I just wish I had his money. Baz

  • i did 20 x3 skullcrushers with 15 lbs on each side with a zig zag bar or w\e, felt the burn, but my triceps are getting defined.

  • @toyynewspaper - if you feel that that was good then you must keep doing it. I find that if I do lower reps and more sets quite heavy I build more. 6 sets of 8-12 reps. Baz

  • -This guy is my hero! i would blindly sign under his words.. and no doubts that he is a real badass old school !

  • @indieKook - thanks so much for a really nice compliment. I hope one day to meet you. Who knows. Baz

  • Once again great advice!! THANKS!!

  • @Trivium3939 - pleasure and thank you. Baz

  • Hi, i have quick question. I do most of your works outs now for 5 weeks and I see massive changes. But my biceps are still kind of flat. they stand out to the front but not so much to the sides. Are there any ways to train that? Thanks =]

  • @spater91 - I have found that hammer curls will help a bit. You have to just do the hard graft and do things like preacher curls and normal heavy bicep curls. Do not over train them. Never train them more than 2 times a week. Baz

  • Nice work man

  • @TheMaru2701 - thanks so much.

  • Wow, I haven't been doing the Skullcrusher correctly at all have I. Thanks for the super informative video, Baz!

  • @AgentNick42 - pleasure my friend I hope you get good results with your training. Baz

  • Skull Crushers and any other forms of tricep extensions are actually much more beneficial if done with cables. If you study the mechanics of the exercise the tension in the muscles decreases greatly the closer you get to the lockout because the gravitational force (the source of resistance in free weight training) is no longer opposite of the force that the trainee is exerting. A better free weight tricep exercise is the close grip bench press. The best though are dips.

  • @ibobland - that is excellent information. I guess for those who do not have cables but want the change we have to live with a bit less. I also doubt I or 95% of the people watching this are going to win Mr Olympia. It will still give a good workout. I am very happy with my arms. Baz

  • Seriously I love listening to you, great tips and the tip of variation is the best tip any personal trainer can give :) gogo!

  • @Elvathar - Thanks very much for the good comment and compliment. Baz

  • dont you get stress in your elbow joints from the skullcrushers?

  • @DGeorge94UK - Not really but I know a few people who do. If you do feel stress then rather do another tricep exercise like close grip bench press or my favourite tricep push downs. Baz

  • great vid!! thanx a lot

  • @kingkevinjoy - pleasure my friend. Baz

  • hey baz instead of skull crushers what other exersises can i do to get my Triceps bigger plz reply

  • @twitter1995 - I love tricep push downs. You can do dips, close grip bench press or over head extentions. I have done all of them and they do work. Baz

  • my triceps were bigger than his when i was 16 years old

  • @pepdoggdamexican - so you must be quite a hero then. Baz

  • thank u so much! SO one more thing. When doing skull crushers/dumbell overhead extension, ur elbows are suppose to be close to each other but how close?

like in the video right? cuz i thought it'd had to be like parallel

  • @JacksonMichaelBAD - a lot of people believe that it makes very little difference where you put your elbows. If they are wide it will still work the triceps but at a different angle. I would suggest that you bring them close enough to feel comfortable. Baz

  • I'm 17 and already training for 2 months now. I think i'm going to buy some protein powder, but i wanted to ask you Baz: Does the protein powder make a big enough difference? Is it worth buying?

  • @illidin25 - You have to train hard to build muscle. Protein powder is a convenient way of getting the food the muscles need. I think it is worth it because it is a controlled easy way to feed your muscles. Protein powder on its own will not build muscle. Baz

  • @BazBlog a set of 10 strict skullcrushers off the end of the bench with the easycurl....then superset RIGHT AWAY with 15 explosive close grip benchpresses with a spotter. Do that 3 times. My friend said he did that and His Bench went up to 300 pounds after a while what do you think?

  • @lordvoldemort578 - that sounds fine. You must do what works for you. Give that a try and see how it works for you. There are so many things that work for different people and to say this is the best way would not be correct. It was the best for your friend but might not be for you. Baz

  • @BazBlog How do you make your midsection so wide.

  • @lordvoldemort578 - Eat a lot. lol If you do side bends you will get your obliques to show more but if they are covered with fat then you will look wide even though your very muscular. Baz

  • @illidin25 dont bother yet

try it when you have a low body fat and high muscle percentage

    thats when it works best

  • Baz, thanks alot for this GREAT information.

  • @illidin25 - Thanks very much for that. Baz

  • @SilentWalk18 Not a bad idea :) haha

  • @force2013 - great exercise for a lot of people. Baz

  • Hi I have a few questions that I wonder about. I've been training for 3 months and I've got some restult. But I have strongly thought about starting with protin powder. but I have heard that it does not help and that you can get pimples and sleep problems is it true?. and last thing you see results in 1 month? thanks you keep up the vids:)

  • @force2013 - Protein powder is not steroids. It is just a convienient way to get the protein you need which feeds the muscles. I think it is a very good thing and provided you do not over do it and stick to the label instructions you will not have a problem. As for getting results in one month that will not happen with or without protein powder. It takes a lot long to see any reasonable change in a person. Baz

  • @force2013 But to see the small changes, keep taking pictures of yourself every 7 day and you can see the small changes if you compare first picture with the newly taken one, it is cos you will be checking yourself in the mirror often and you will just get used to seeing yourself and therefore wont notice small changes.

  • G' DAy mayte

  • @mikespike502005 - with that comment I take it you are Australian. Good day to you too my friend. Baz

  • hey baz i gotta ask u which tricep dips are better parallel bar dips or bench dips for mass and also the close grip bench press also works the inner chest right or just triceps ?

  • @hititdj - both dips are good. If you lean forward bar dips are great for chest too. It really is up to you. If you believe one is better than the other your body will respond better to that one as it all starts in the mind so you decide. Yes I think close grip works both but some say there is nothing you can do for inner chest just bulk up the whole chest. Again what you believe when you train will work the best for you. Baz

  • Australian Robert DeNiro?

  • @TheTawbies - thanks very much but I am actually Zimbabwean. Baz

  • I have been working out for about 3 months now, and is still kind of a beginner. I weigh 61kilos, am 17 years old (turned 17 3 days ago, 28th may), and I an thinking about protein powder. Is it good? Could you recommend some?

  • @iPhoneiPodiHack - You are a good age to really go for it. I would suggest a whey protein that is 80% + protein with very little carbs in it. Just read the label. Buy cheap if you can because some of the brand names are very expensive and do not do that much extra. Baz

  • @BazBlog Alright thanks a lot man! We have kind of great protein powder here in Sweden, because we don't have big brands so it's cheap but effective. Well I guess it is, because the one i'm thinking of is 26g protein / 100ml.

Thanks for replying and great videos!

  • @iPhoneiPodiHack - that is excellent. I wish it was the same here in the UK. Protein powders can be very expensive. Baz

  • this is great...

  • @BazBlog how long did you train for to get big like that, also did u bulk? ive been in a bulking phase for 5 months, the training good i follow vince delmontes no nononse muscle building, but i wana get big like your size or a bit bigger, so my point lol is hw long did it take you

  • @bengalikid567 - You have to be patient and if you bulk too quick you could end up with really ugly stretch marks. If you can put on about 1 kg a month that is a huge amount of gain. Even 1/2 a kg is very good. I started off quite fat so was already quite big. I then took 120 days to remove a good deal of the fat and build some muscle. This meant that the weight did not really alter that much. I think I went down a couple of kgs will all the fat I lost. Baz

  • Thanks I've been training for 2 months now with the help of your video's !

  • @bruceejuh - that is fantastic to hear. Keep it up my friend. Baz

  • @ BazBlog how much do you weigh?

  • @MrRose2012 - I weigh about 92kgs. Baz

  • I'm just starting out with weight training so I've been watching a few training videos. I've just found yours and I really enjoy them, so I've subscribed to your channel.

I like your presenting style, you explain things really well for beginners - great stuff, good job.

  • @ArseBags - That is excellent and I hope you will stick with the training. Thanks so much for the very nice compliments. If you need help just shout. Baz

  • thanks man .-)

  • @KRISTABLI - pleasure my friend. Baz

  • sorry. for not agreeing bcus when u do bench tricep u cant go all the way down as ur doing other ways ur engaigin the chest and not the tricep u wanna keep it 4 inches high from ur chest . btw iam a bodybuilder not justa stupid kid that doesnt know whats going good luck guys.

  • @jayrochaparro - thanks for the tip. I find that this way works really well for me. I am sure what you do works well for you. Baz

  • @ai2flesh and a NEO-NAZI.

    blah!!!

  • @TheBornPoet - ???????? Baz

  • @AI2FLesh This vid is not you, FUCKER!!!! You are a SKINHEAD!!!

  • Hey, are you related to AI2Flesh?

  • @TheBornToBeBaDDD - NO. Baz

  • @BazBlog Thank you. Great upload, btw. :)

  • @TheBornPoet - thanks very much for that. Baz

  • @sercangolgeci - thanks so much that is a very nice compliment. Baz

  • Awesome advise! and a winning smile! 3:36 :D

  • @juanjuarez1 - thanks a million for the comment and support. Baz

  • I've always been under the impression your supposed to keep your elbows in and tight, not flared out. Also, you mention grip width and stress on the wrists, yet you have the same grip width in both exercises...with different bars, what's the difference??

  • @SV50C - You will find that if you flare the elbows you tend to work more of the lateral tricep head. Closer elbows more the long head. Both work well. The difference in the bars is the angle you hold them. I find a lot less stess on my wrists as well as down the forearm with an EZ bar. The width of the grip is around 4-5". You must do them with as much comfort as possible. Some like a little wider and others a bit closer. I think it is up to the person. Baz

  • dude i appreciate the help. If it wasnt for people like you who took the time to put up instructional videos in case someone else might need help then I personally would have a tough time finding help for things i dont understand. Thanks a lot man, not to mention your accent reminds of fifa, which is awesome

  • @iplayguster - thanks very much for the compliments. I am glad you have found the vids useful. Good luck with your training and if you need more help just let me know. Baz

  • Thank you Baz =)

  • @joniesac - Pleasure mate. Baz

  • What are your exercises of choice for working the triceps Buz if it's not the skull crushers?

  • @faYte0607 - I love tricep pushdowns first and then overhead extensions. Lastly kickbacks. I seldom do anything else. Baz

  • Great weight training information. Thanks for the videos, hope you will make more. Phil.

  • @phil60ish - thanks very much and yes I will be making quite a few more videos starting quite soon. Baz

  • baz, your better doing the skulll crushers just behind your head, if your arms lock up dosen't it mean u will drop the bar on your face lol?

  • @MrDanlay1 - doing them behind the head actually hits the triceps with a slightly different angle. That is a good thing. I always train with weights I can handle and will only exceed that if I have a very good spotter who knows what they are doing. Baz

  • @BazBlog cheers man its all about getting massive =)

  • @MrDanlay1 - Yes that is what a lot of people want. I just want to look more natural and have great tone. Baz

  • I have been doing the close grip bench press. In 6months of these only once a week has realy increased my triceps greatly. Everyone wanting bigger arms has to put them in once a week along with full body dips.

  • @kustomhead - I am really pleased that has worked for you. I know that there are so many different ways to train so the ideas you have shared I am sure will help a number of people. Baz

  • great video thanks for the tips

  • @Randomvideos1313 - pleasure and thanks for the comment. Baz

  • My form sucked on both exercises before I watched this. Thank you!

  • @YoungMufasa - I am glad I was able to help a bit. Baz

  • Ok what the fuck, The ad before this video was a fat guy shaking his gut..... Thank god for the skip button.

  • @199FOE - I have no control over the ads they are put on by google. Baz

  • @BazBlog I know, it wasn't your fault, I was just ranting because it was discusting.

  • @199FOE - Yes i understand. Baz

  • Thanks Baz! But how many times a week should i train for making progress for my arms ?? i also eat 6 - 7 times a day. boy 17

  • @TheAndreasSimonsen - you need to do like 5/6 sets of 8-12 reps per set as heavy as you can handle. Make sure you keep your form correct. You must not train them more than 2 times a week. A muscle needs at least 48 hours to rest, repair and grow. Baz

  • how important is minimizing rest between sets for muscle building? Is it more important to just rest 60 seconds so you really feel the burn and pump, or to rest 3-4 minutes if that means being able to lift heavier weights.

  • @stoneecold23 - I find that a short rest does help with fat burn. I also know that for strength training you have a lot longer rest. It really is up to you what you are wanting to achieve. Baz

  • is that ur kids bench?

  • @juicer404 - no just a cheap bench I got to show you can train on simple stuff and the muscles really do not know the difference. Baz

  • i love this exercise...

  • @hayden50 - It seems like it is a very popular exercise. There are a lot of people who really swear by this exercise. I personally still love the tricep push down. I do use this though. Baz

  • thanks dude, helped me make sure I was doing the skulls properly.

  • @holden29gh - excellent and good luck with your training. Baz

  • you sound south african

  • @psnas - close I am Zimbabwean. Baz

  • respect brother!

  • @ryanorloaskysucks - thanks very much. Baz

  • youre right. nice video.

  • @GoodPump - thanks so much. Baz

  • So I've been working on my biceps and shoulders a lot and I have results, but they don't fill out my shirts like I want. Will the tricep exercises help me do that? Or am I not working my other muscles hard enough?

  • @clanbigger4 - they will grow but you must remember it takes time. If you want results in 2 months that is no where near enough time. It will take proper food and 6 months to see a real difference. Make sure you only train each muscle max 2 times a week or they will not grow as you want. Baz

  • so what is ur favourite tricep exercise? ive read alot that close grip n skullcrushers r the best for putting mass on the tris

  • @aaronalwines - I mostly do tricep push downs and kickbacks. The 2 you mention are claimed to be about the best. I think it is up to the person. If you really believe in an exercise you will get your body to respond to it. If you have doubts then it will not work as well. A lot of bodybuilding is in the mind first, food 2nd and lastly lifting the weights. Baz

  • great vids baz great help,im currently bodybuilding with no supplements and im really looking to build good foundation on my triceps looking for more mass are the skull crushers the job for it?? thanks :)

  • @mririshbodybuilder - thanks very much. Yes people will claim skull crushers to one of the best for bulking up triceps. I personally do a lot more tricep push downs. It is up to you. Try a few different ways and see what works best for you. Baz

  • I really really like your video's, althoug i do not understand everything becuz english is only my second language =). But its enough to get the sense of your exercises :p

    Thanks and keep doing pls!

  • @p45RiCK - if you need more help let me know. I can imagine how hard it will be if English is not your home language and you are trying to understand what is being said. Baz

  • his really in shape for an old man

  • @fabrezee13 - thanks that is a nice compliment. Baz

  • can you do this with an EZ bar?

  • @thekylemontilla - Yes I think you certainly can. Baz

  • You should mention that skullcrushers should be on a much lower weight, you don't want people pointing fingers mate.

  • @craigsskeldon - Yes that is a good tip. I am often asked how much should a person lift and I always say the same thing. No one can tell you how much you should be lifting. You have to work that out for yourself. Baz

  • Thanks, Basil. It's a big help.

  • @al366baker - pleasure mate glad I could be of help. Baz

  • Great video, thanks

  • @27albrecht - thank you. Baz

  • when doing the skullcrusher you should move the bar behind you head not against the forhead. I was doing it like you when a pro bodybuilder told me that was wrong at the gym. You dosent stretch the muscle enough, for maximum effect you should move the bar all the way behind you head. (sorry for the bad enlgish, im from sweden)

  • @lolmani1 - yes going behind the head is just a good variation of the normal skull crusher. This one will still work very well and is done by a lot of people. I would not agree with him that it is wrong it is like saying a half squat is useless. They all work it is just a matter of preference. Baz

  • hey whats up baz...... great videos!!! is it alright to work all body parts except for legs once a week. legs twice?

  • @tarzanjungle80 - Yes that is fine. A lot of people do it that way. If you think it works best for you. I like to do each muscle 2 times a week. Thanks for the compliment. Baz

  • hey whats up baz...... great videos!!! is it alright to work all body parts except for legs once a week.

  • you say you dont do this exercise often... so what do you do mostly instead?

  • @comperko - My main exercise is tricep pushdowns. I just think that I get the best from them. I also do these but only now and again. I find they certanly do make a nice difference then for me. Baz

  • Cool video

  • @mladenbla - thanks very much I am glad you like it. Baz

  • Always preferred doing triceps over biceps myself. I find doing biceps an absolute chore and it takes a long time to see results. Still do them but get no enjoyment out of it.

Tricep exercises are so much more rewarding.

  • @headcaseman - that might be because you are overdoing them. I would only do one main exericse for the biceps. Go heavy 5/6 sets with 8-12 reps per set. You will see some very quick results. Baz

  • Skull crusher is very good for tricep strength and mass building... i could do 25kg a side skull crush when i was 17

  • @priceywbaboy - Yes it certainly is a great way to get stronger and bigger. Baz

  • Hey Baz really love your videos !<3
