well, i played cities xl beta and xl 2011 but, there is no good system of mass transportation and terraforming. Also very few buildings. SimCity is still the game with more options.

@miridobro1 there was only 2 minor patches in 2004. So the actual version is 7 years old. But there are many actual plugins, like the NAM.

CitiesXL 2011 has mass transit with buses and trains and more to come. SimCity also grew over time to develop its mass transit system and didn't refine it until SC4 deluxe. That's actually nearly 6 versions of evolution beyond where CXL is right now.

I expect if CXL2011 is successful they will enhance the mass transit even further.

@SoulfulSims it would sooo very much successful if it had all the themes simcity had! that's why i prefer simcity of cities xl. the only thing that cities xl has on simcity are the graphics, online play(which you have to pay for :/), and the improved roads, bridges, etc....there are no disasters or anything...it get's boring....it would be cool if they could also put in like wars where one continent goes to war with another and you have to prepare your city or something.

I did this in decembe 2009 and can tell you, it wasn´t worth the money. No rail-transport, no landscaping, no roundabouts, no fun for more than ten hours.

The only good thing was the grid-free roadbuilding.

In Ceasar III you had more control of the production and you could fight.

In SimCity the focus lies on traffic and job/workers balance. The Maps are within a region and cities can interact. The terrain can be edited in any way while playing.
