JDarks you are amaizing. Thanks for putting your talent and teachings out there for all us dead heads and guitar players. look forward to the next one....Rock On
its like a g triad, not a c chord... hes got the triad and then highlights the g on the d string(5th fret) jerry does this a lot... but yeah check out jdarks site thats how i learned!
@sk8ingwalrus07 Its a fake F form slid down a whole step to make a "fake G". Then when he goes to the C shape, its a D chord. Just watch this over and over again, you'll what he's doing. There's a lot of theory behind it.
awesome Bertha, i got some work to do on mine. My fav Bertha is 8/05/71 from the Hollywood Paladium, the next night rocks as well. Thanks for the vids! Hey i was always curious...were you at the '74 Roosevelt show that was rained out?
'74 and '73 are for warm months, '72 is for cooler weather. Just finished a bunch of May '74 shows, I'm on 6/73 now, to be followed by 8/72. As the weather gets cooler, so do the tones of the Golden Period.
It isn't really a bombing song, is it? Now if you were to ask me about "The Other One," it would be the giant '72 versions. "Other One" was at its best in '72, "Dark Star" was at its best in '73, and "Playin'" was at its best in '74, but all three were great in all three years. 8/6's "Bertha" best bass.
I love you jdarks.

8/6/74's "Bertha" is pretty funked up. I think Phil makes that version.

And don't miss a week earlier - Dillon Stadium 7/31. More delicious Phil.

Which Bertha has the best "bombs" of all time, IYO?
JDarks 4 years ago
Shoots, brah, the first question is: Is there a Bertha in which the band gets through all six bombs without anyone messing up at least once? :)
