  • dude u have to trim it u just left it there with all those dead fronds no wonder no one would have bought it

  • You may want to think about trimming your new native trees.

  • ohhh!! how could u !!! i'm crying !! lol jk but still. that beautiful beautiful palm!! awww :(

  • Hey spidieman. Kudos for even bothering to respond to some of these morons. "Every plant has right to grow where ever the climate will permit it too." What a moron. Just think, clowns like that get to vote too. Scary. "Palm murderer": ROFL. Can those guys even read and think at the same time: you clearly state you are simply replacing one type of tree with something else.

  • i would of taken it

  • D= whats wrong with you!!

  • WHY YOU NO TRIMMING

  • tried to sell it actually... no-one wanted it. As I said in previous comments - these trees have quite dangerous spikes and are not very popular.

  • @spidieman so like that palm tree species had ouchy spikes dont blame ya there beautiful but yeah.

  • @spidieman What did you Replace it word Murderer. Native PALM!!!

  • Palm murderer, you could have sold that palm for money instead of killing it!

  • Nothing is friggen native for god sake, not even the people! We had to come from some where way back when. That was a beautiful Washingtonia filifera, what a waste. Do you think all those palms and tropical type plants growing in Southern California are native? Think again, how about the French Riviera, what about those palms? Kiwi plants aren't even native to New Zealand nor are Pineapples native to Hawaii. Every plant has right to grow where ever the climate will permit it too.

  • @bj616

    no, it doesn't.

  • @lowfiwhiteguy If it is an invasive species then I would say not, but if it is an ornamental and doesn't cause harm, then yes it does.

  • @bj616

So.. do you fill out census forms for your plants or something?

  • @lowfiwhiteguy Why do you ask? I am a plant collector, grower, seller and I do landscape consulting. I also work full time for the Parks Dept. maintaining all of the plants and gardens in our island parks. Put it this way, I live and breath plants, whether they are native or not. Even the so call native plant freaks grow introduced species without even thinking about it.

  • fantastic! i hate palms and am so proud u will/have planted natives to replace it! Is that an accent i can hear? Perhap u should teach some aussies some gardening tips!

  • No actually - the tree is not native and caused problems for us with it's dangerous spikes in the trunk. We are replacing it with native varieties that are more suited to our environment.

  • what a shame...such a lovely tree, all done I'm sure so you can do your man stuff!!
