Item World is my answer. Also, these levels are nothing. Getting to level 1000+ is technically a feat but it's not that hard once you do certain things in the game and train in certain places as well. Felonies allow you to get more experience points than normal. Armsmasters give you better weapon mastery experience gain. Every little bit drastically helps your characters.

@negima37 I leveled up my characters in Item World or maybe it was Dark World... yeah I think I leveled them in the first Dark World stage and when my levels and equipment were better, I threw the enemies together making higher level enemies and defeated them in combo attacks chaining from one character to the next and so on. This made my levels jump enough so I could take on Etna somewhat in this battle with some sneaky tactics.

@negima37 I'm having Adell use a skill he knows as a special character. The one where he leaps into the air and flame kicks but because I turned off the options to display the moves, he simply swings his sword to show he is attacking even when using a skill.

However, the only way to increase a weapons natural range is to go into the item world of the selected weapon and meet the chicken at the 10, 20, 30 etc floors and pass bills to increase the weapon range.

@narutohinataashgaara One of the endings in the game, yes. This is Etna's Ending which occurs early on in the game if you manage to beat her rather than lose. Losing to Etna progresses the story of Disgaea 2 just in case you didn't know. There are 12 or 13 chapters if I remember correctly, and Etna's ending occurs in Chapter 3.

Funny thing is there are more mentions that Adell has to be a demon as well. First off is that he is unaffected by the curse at the start, which only affects humans. Since he is a demon, he is unaffected. Later on, the demon servant who serves Zenon keeps betraying his orders for an unknown instinct, and when he puts her under the curse again, she gasps out Adell's name, despite having not been told it. Add in his title change here which can only be given to a demon, and you get demon Adell

You can beat her within 20 hours if you know what you're doing. Dive into Treasure Maps with a few thieves to sleep/poison everything to death, and have a geo guy detonate geo symbols to rack up your bonus gauge. You'll be able to collect some ridiculous equipment from the get go and eventually you'll be able to kill enemies in the treasure maps by comboing them, or by abusing Critical geo panels.

@XiPepsiX throw enemies together, unlock dark world, run through item world in progressively stronger items facing higher level enemies. I went to Dark World and started getting equipment and levels quickly.

@XiPepsiX Pick up an enemy, then throw it on top of another enemy, they should combine and the levels will raise adding the two units levels together. Do this a bunch of times so that your fighting double the level of your own guys and get faster levels.

@squall42 I'm not to sure as I cannot remember but it's probably around 8 or something to add a couple extra to the range and area of the spells.

Basically, I think a certain status screen or two will show you what the current affects are from you spell level and staff weapon skill level showing how much extra range you get and area too. It's been awhile since I played..

You can always check out a website called gamefaqs and read some guides for Disgaea 2 that tell you this kind of info.

@squall42 ohh, you kept MISSING her... when you throw her to the small island, make sure she is facing away, this will give your units an 80% to hit from behind or so.

I used several people to make a combo attack and saved my strongest spell attackers for the end of the combo to do more damage.

Make sure that Etna will be facing away from you on the little island before you throw her.

@StoneMonkWisdom I think they nerfed some of it. I just tried using a Bandit's Hand on Etna, and I only had a 1% chance of stealing any of her equipment, so you have to fight her as she is. Although, maybe it's just my level.

There is no way you can beat her on psp version, I know this is ps2 version, but in PSP.. You battle her way early when your highest character level is about level 14, and hers is 1000. Lol

Just after trying this trick, works great with the right set up :D (Had to power level afew new characters for the ranged attacks, few hours and i was set). Etna cant move or attack in that wee island so all you have to do is keep on hitting her, here's the results i got from my game

Exp: Disappointing, Adell leveled up but not nearly what i was expecting (92-112)

Hel: Surprisingly good, Got 13-15 million Hel

@louis29125 I believe otherwise because Zenon's curse doesn't affect Adell. Adell's parents are demons working for Zenon. Adell gains the title Demon Lord. Adell becomes "Real Zenon" in the Worst Ending. There's also probably some banter during the main story of the game that hint at Adell being a demon. However, since there is no CLEAR evidence to the contrary, I guess we have to "believe" Adell for now.

It's impossible to use the nekotama trick at that part in the first cycle, to use the nekotama trick you need to go to 4-3 and this is 3-4

However, it is possible to use both Item World and Dark World. 1-1 Dark world for instance takes a bit longer then 4-3 Red waterfall, but you can toss enemies together and capture stronger and stronger enemies.

You can capture a monster who's level is less then double your highest inside the base panel or something like that. You just keep capturing stronger monsters to do your dirty work. Then having a few thieves to cause status effects might also be very handy.

Depends on how far into the game you are, knowing what episode you've made it to would be helpful information, but early leveling spots can be anywhere you've previously beaten before, just toss enemies together until there level is higher then your units, then have a unit or units defeat higher level opponents like that. Repeat process and level up a bit.

in this part its you should be a low level if you just started the game, and you either can do this cheap stuff, like this persons doing (not saying its bad), or you can lose, either way youll go further into the game, and this is kinda easy with my Prinny lol.

I went to the Dark World, unlocking it by defeating MK-II Dark Friday using under level 10 units in chapter 1. She's level 100 and I have a video of her and beating her if you want to figure that part out.

To play through the game as normal, you must lose to Etna, if your units are to strong, then hire 10 level 1 units and send those ones out into battle to lose. The Story will continue normally when you lose to Etna.

You can't keep the title, the second you save and start a new cycle, you lose that title which is kinda bogus but it makes a point... Adell cannot be a demon lord or whatever the title is since he's human. The game is programmed like this. The only way you might be able to have and keep the title is through cheating, gameshark codes, codebreaker, something!

Etna has a limited range of attack, even with her Sexy Beam, she still cannot reach characters five spaces away out of range. Being four spaces away with only one target she won't use Sexy Beam. The A.I. is ridiculous that way. Only use special skills if they effect multiple targets... Maybe it's some sort of conservation executable or something.
