  • ??????????????????????????? That was ODD

  • Space cigs taste good like a cigarette should.

  • Should of have them bang there wifes the smoke a cig.

  • This is so politically incorrect. I'm a girl but just watching the wives do all the work at the start of the cartoon cracks me up.

  • Is this real? It can't be. Seriously WT holy F was wrong with this country?

  • @TheTVTastic Not that it's much better now though..

  • @TheTVTastic Oddly enough, yes it is real. :(

  • the part they left out was when they stuck a cigarette in pebbles' mouth and she spit it out and began hacking, and all four of the adults did that group laugh until the end

  • watch?v=ysNd4QGOgeY

  • Back then they didn't know the harm of cigs. Back then smoking cigs was like drinking coffee.

  • @PBaddict7830 still is today to some people...like me

  • Barney Rubble, Bug Bunny = Same Guy.

  • Flinstons with sexism and cigarettes. I just lost my innocence.

  • Lol....

  • They died 7 years later...... of childhood obesity..

  • When the Flintstones started out, it was intended for adults.

  • @bengalifan Wasn't it a spin-off of The Honeymooners? It wasn't until I became an adult that I understood many of the jokes that I missed as a child...

  • hard to believe they used Cartoons to sell cigarettes

  • I remember singing the Winston song as a kid on the playground at school.

  • @mrshinkydink wow really, visual communication really is a powerful medium

  • @mrshinkydink Are you 80 or something?

  • that's awesome

  • WOW!

  • i feel like i was just brainwashed and im 22 years old 0_0

  • marketing to the next generation!

  • i remember this commerical playing when I was younger

  • Up next, the glue sniffin' commercial.

  • I'm going out for a smoke!

  • how did cavemen have lighters?

  • No wonder cavemen are Extinct, nice way trying to Target Children to smoke, some kids who smoke those days are probally gone and they have the right to sue those tobacco companies.

  • HAHAHAHA that so funny i cant belave they did that back then i bet kids wanted to smoke xD

  • @shainasaurs809 in fact, they even thought candy cigs were the "training wheels" for real smoking, and the cool kids stuck the candy cig packages in their shirt pockets like adults :)

  • Did this actually happen? Because, if so, then I can see why family guy makes fun of them!

  • sell out!

  • damn you tabacco companies!!!1

  • {Sigh}...What a rape of my childhood.

  • wow..........now there's something you dont see every day who wuda thought.

  • The Flintstones was a primetime show. It was intended for adults not children. So it would make total sense that they would do this. At that time cigarette commercials were on tv all the time. When they took them off, I remember I heard a lot of people make comments that it was intrusive to force the tobacco companies off the air.

  • I don't think I've ever seen anyone buy or smoke Winstons.

  • ahhh those were the good old days. In the american golden age. When the world was free and the free was rich.

  • Don Draper approved :D

  • this is kinda really fuckin weird....

  • This is the same cigarette brand that killed my grandfather. I'm dead serious.

  • @EmptyIsThis Its the same cigarette brand that my grandfather was smoking. He fell asleep and it started a fire. My father ran in and saved him when he was about 15 or 17. My grandfather luckily survived as my father had just gotten back from his 3rd job in time to save him. But the firemen and my grandmother were too scared to go in. Eventually in 2008 he died of a heart attack because the same thing happened with fire and cigarettes. But on the bright side my father turns 42 December 3rd.

  • I cannot believe What I saw O_O

    This is sooo Wrong

Imagine They do commercial just like that With SpongeBob

  • and how many stupid people are still smoking knowing it is one of the leading causes of cancer?

  • @cdemeli cause people done give a fuck, so neither should you

  • @0:46 They say "These guys are fucking retarded" with their faces haha

  • The flinstones when originlaly aired was geared toward adults and winston were their sponsors before welches juice

  • I would like to see one with spongebob.

  • when you think about barney and fred in a commercial, you immediately think about fruity pebbles. Then you take a look at this, and, well...

    no comment

  • They should still make commercials with cartoons.

  • They are the reason why the dinosaurs are exstinct!

  • I love tobacco, but I'd never smoke the crap sold by the big cigarette companies.

  • I find it appauing that they used childrens cartoon to advertise cigarettes :/

  • @XharrietjayneX Then you would be happy to know that the Flintstones are not a children's cartoon (plus it aired during prime time).

  • @whothewu:

As a child, I used to watch The Flintstones during primetime. ;))

  • Hard to believe that anyone could take this advertisement seriously.

  • This is how times have REALLY changed; for a second I just thought Fred was checking his email at 1:03!

  • @Jolar70

Hahaha! I actually thought the same thing but it didn't occur to me that this commercial was fucking ancient.

  • This is how caveman died

  • If Don Draper has his way, they'd be smoking Lucky Strikes.

  • this ruined my childhood

  • no wonder tobacco companies lost the right to advertise

  • As long as Winston was seemingly exclusively sponsoring this cartoon, they could have insisted on re-naming it the "Winstones."

  • @skybart That was a good one! lol :o)

  • Probably the only good thing Winston ever did was Sponsor NASCAR... They actually cared about entertaining the fans and that was when NASCAR was at its best... But still this stuff here is classic LOL!

  • I never thought the Flintstones sell cigarettes

  • WTF Welma Smoking!! Ummmm..excuse me but isnt Pebbles suppose to be born in 1963??

  • I probley bet the Flintstones use to be on before Family Guy came along

  • never would have thought the Flintstones whould sell cigarettes

  • Selling cigarettes in a cartoon for children!

  • Didn't the flintsones used to be an adult show?

  • Donald Draper approves of this advertisement.

  • I don't know about you but cartoons that advertise cigarettes doesn't make me want to smoke.....I could legally smoke if I wanted to but don't because I feel it's just a waste of money and really has no effect on me, kind of like this commercial.

  • There's no need for cigarette advertising. They sell themselves!

  • Wow! Our cartoons nowadays would be dead if they got away with this!

  • stupid

  • Tobacco? Eww, I'm fine with THC

  • and we wonder why kids smoke......

  • lol glad i dont smoke

  • I need a cigarette.

  • Good ol' times

  • It's mad to think that they were using cartoons at the time to advertise smoking, what message was that sending to young fans of the show?!

  • Who says girls can't perform manual labor and smoke at the same time?

  • Hhahaahahahha this is just to awesome!

  • mommy can you teach to smoke like fred?

  • i saw this in a drug class XD

  • Knowing what we know now makes this commercial ridiculous in how obsolete it is.

  • .............OMG!

  • For some reason I feel like I need a Winston break, and I don't even smoke!

  • If it's good enough for Fred it's good enough for me.

  • so, women does the work and men just chill out and smoke cigarettes...

  • so a kid show improves 88 percent of kids smoking

  • Winston's suck

  • BY THE WAY THIS CARTOON SERIES STARTED IN 1960 and this commercial ran for approx 2 years

  • Most of the comments made by people who were not around when the Flintstones were in PRIMETIME... and oh how HINDSIGHT IS SO GOOD ! If you did not live in those days don't be so quick to criticize - you have no idea

  • Just shows how evil cigarettes company are. The majority of the audience watching the Flintstones would be children.

  • ppl back then where almost idots and even before i watched this i said 2 little kids "COMMERCIALS WILL CORRUPT UR MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • 15 years later barney and fred were coughing up blood around back lol

  • @mexicojack1

    hahalol

  • @mexicojack1 nah... they had their flinstone vitamins ...

  • @noidrocks

And the gummy kind more or less

  • Believe it or not, that used to be a prime time TV show.

  • OH MY GOOD

  • but lets remember guys this was during the 50's and back then people thought cigarettes were actualy healthy and companys like winsotne heard of a scientific study that said smoking was bad for you so they started to say that they are healthy and people belived it

  • @jony2jack1 was the 60's actually, but they still thought cigs were ok

  • I doubt cavemen had cigarettes.

  • Quite a few anti-smoking nazis here have no problem with Marijuana. Hypocrites.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel

Don't mind them. There should be freedom only when it's in favour of what they support.

  • Man, that lawnmower is annoying. He's got the right idea making her mow the lawn, though. ;-)

  • This is a prime example of why so many of my generation smoke.

We have had cigarette advertising shoved up our Butts since we were old enough to crawl over in front of the television.

    Think I will light up.

  • That's messed up

  • I'd go with Betty, but Wilma is my first love. What am I saying? This is silly. We know she'll never leave Fred!

  • @YTRulesFromNM That's good, I thought I was going strange.

  • youre mommas so old when she was a kid the Flintstones were a reality tv show

  • Oh...My..Gosh.

  • check out the ipad3 on my channel

  • lol

  • How old is this?

  • this is bizarre...i forgot they used to actually have commercials like this. im 31, and all i can recall is the marlboro man being on TV....funny how things have changed so much. you would never, ever, ever see a commercial like that these days...soon, you will start seeing graphic images of how cigarettes cause death on the front and back of every pack...bc the government thinks we are stupid.

  • @ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 They already have the horrid pictures on the packets here in the UK!

  • "overture, cue the lights, this is it, the night of nights" (bugs bunny theme song) started playing at the end ?

  • Lmao oh the old days!

  • 0:35.THAT'S NOT SMOKE,THAT'S MARIUHANA!

  • @MrProductionsss You're a fucking idiot. IT'S A CIGARETTE COMMERCIAL!!! And it spelled "marijuana", not "mariuhana".

  • @xXKenBlockXx he was close the alternate spelling is Marihuana

  • hahaha so bizarre!!! I can't believe there was a cigarettes spot made by the flintstones xD

  • When I was a kid in the 80s my grandma would send me to the store to buy cigs. and a pack of matches I was 7 maybe 8. Some things have changed for the better.

  • Was This Real?!?!?!

If It Is, That Is Just AWFUL!!! O.o

  • Imagine this for their vitamin commercial: "Flintstones tastes good like a *click click* vitamin should!" THAT would piss off some overly-sensative anti-smokers. (Seriously though, don't ever smoke)

  • And then they all got cancer and that's how they died

  • The message is just so subtle! Gotta love product placement from back in the day :D

  • Comment removed

  • @NonaPaskemin problem is that we have to smell that shit. Blow smoke on me and I'll punch you right in the face. Fucking self centered assholes deserve to die.

  • Thumbs up if your watching this in 2011!!!

  • It's funny how they start worrying on how hard their wives work, and their solution is to go around back and start smoking :D

  • @juventinorocks um no duh thats why its a funny commercial

  • @AvaMorrow Shut up, besides, it's not really a "FUNNY" commercial...it's a cigarette commercial

  • I just don't understand how people back then thought putting smoke in your lungs wasn't a bad thing.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe just like: "I don't understand how people back in the 2010s thought hours on the computer wasn't a bad thing."

You see, for widespread addictions, people go into denial pretty quick.

  • @CatFlashBlue But the computer loves me....not like the mean nasty old sun and physical activity...

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe

You'd know if you ever smoked or chewed Tobacco. It's not good, its horrible, but it has addicting qualities to it. Back in the 60's everyone smoked, peer pressure did all the work.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe Because they were cool and laid back.

They weren't worried about a million and one things like people are nowadays.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe I totally agree, but then again, a lot of people haven't figured out that putting alcohol into your system is a bad thing quiet yet.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe They didn't know.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe they didn't know better.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe I don't understand why now we think that is a bad thing.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe what about weed? idk if its bad for you or not.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe Just like people now drink fluoride and it's clearly not meant to be ingested .

  • @chadman277 that helps your teeth. . . theres a lot of chemicals you need but in very little doses and too much could result in posioning. . .

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe it's easy!! IIt's just like now, where millions of people don't think putting drugs on their, blood, veins, nose, etc is a really bad thing...People may never learn!!

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe And how many stupid fucking people with your arrogance think its perfectly fine to see how much plastic they can stick in the mouths of their children? Here is a clue for you all - Plastic kills! But the international petrolium industry is very strong. That new car smell? New carpet smell? It is toxic! Plastic utensils, dishes cups and bottles kill over time. Why do we not have reusable glass bottles? But no - Lets attack cigarettes that makes good sense.

  • @1967mustanggta Chill the fuck out. Seriously.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe Your right - I will g-g-get along. And I won't offend you or that which tell you how to think. I do apologize for being so rude!

  • @1967mustanggta Someone has abnormally high levels of left-wing paranoia in their blood. I recommend cutting your 'Common TV' subscription and smoking something. I hear Winston does the trick.

  • @Areku911 You are probably right. Truth is I mean no one any harm. But at every turn I am deemed bad or evil in everything I believe in or do. I was a Cub fan - broke that habit. So I smoke. I know we were a better country when we employed our own people to make our own stuff. And the best "green" products are those we make out of wood glass and metal. A erson has to know beyond the hype this is true.

  • @RadioactiveMicrobe

Dude at one time people thought moonshine had vitamins, hahaha

  • up front where it counts....

  • so thats how the cavemen made fire

  • It would have been funny if Barney pulled out a blunt...Tastes right if you eat it right ;)

  • yea cause they had lighters back then...

  • People forget that this was back at when most cartoons were still aimed at a grown up audience. Or did you forget already all the smoking/drinking/gun violence in the even older WB and Disney cartoons too? And I say "still" because it was around Flinstones when the cartoon aimed at kids started to surface.

  • 50s sounds great, even women did lawn work.

  • Yeah, I am 53 years old and these commercials were quite prevalent when I was growing up. Boy, how times have changed! They used to peddle liquor too.

  • @yankees032778 ya it is real but its old

  • smoke...SMOKE...ARE YA SMOKIN YET?!?!

  • Holy shit this is real? I thought this was going to be some joke video.

  • 1:22 to skip ads

  • ...and so the first lung cancer was discovered...

  • @ 0:24 i thought only women store stuff there...

  • no wonder kids are so messed up today

  • @Crazycuddles27 Kids?!?!? what do you mean? this was made in the 60s. There are no 50 year old kids in existence. Present kids behavior has nothing to do with this.

  • Barney has the better looking chick

  • @JxT1957

Barney has a bigger difference and only he has it, up front where it counts.

  • @JxT1957 i'd tap that

  • 173 people were caught smoking and had to do chores.

  • Wilma and Betty are a couple of HOT Cougars!

  • // LAUGHS LIKE CRAZY WHEN FRED PULLS OUT CIGARRETTES//

  • I'd rather see them endorse Winston Cigarettes than A Big Bright Colorful Bowl of Fruity Pebbles

  • never liked the show, but the cereal is good
