It makes no sense to use soy protein which is a meat replacement, and then cook it with poor dead animals. You are missing the entire point. Ground cows is barbaric and disgusting. The cow is also our mother and provides us with butter, milk, yogurt etc.....Let us not be ungreatful and unconscious.
THank you for posting this, but there is no need to contribute to killing a cow or chicken for stock. Just use the stems of different vegetables that you arent using, then boil it up to make a great vegetable stock. You should also mention if you are using TVP from organic soya beans . GMO soy products cause birth defects, and are created by the very evil Monsanto and Carghil corporations that tries to own everyones soil, and who destroys the lives of farmers.
Wow, I am VERY interested in this TVP. One thing that I get a little concerned about with my food storage is having enough protein. This would be a great way to add some protein to my storage.
I think I would like to use this in combo with regular meat to try it out first. I think it would be something you would need to get used to. But good to have around.
This is so cool! I've always wondered what TVP was. I thought it was just seasoning to use in addition to meat. I didn't know you could use it as a meat substitute.
I make a really killer taco salad and I'd love to try the tvp and see if anyone can taste the difference. I'm also going to try adding corn..it sounds delicious!
Last time I left a comment about the black bean salads which was attacked I work a church run soup kitchen for 7 yrs I do know TVP and the USDA can mistery beef / buffalo meat making enough for 300 meals daily I wish that I knew of this location to get the Can food but I had local farmers droping off a half ton of potatoes every few months or any other produce that they could not sale.

This is a great way to spread out your meat budget. Adding a bit of TVP can really cut fat, add protein and fill out a dish.

This is a lot different than I thought it would be. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this looks a lot better. And a lot more usable.

I think I would rather use real meat when I can, but it's not a bad idea to have some of this around just in case.

So what's the difference between beef tvp and taco tvp? Does the taco tvp just have more seasonings already in it?

I can't imagin how that would taste. Is it close to the real thing? Would my kids know the difference? :)
