Man this is great!!! I know that some people are genuine when they leave comments but others just want to show off..ya know? Do what you do Bra, just know that your light is shinning.
man you completely forgot about what you started out playing this was susppose to be a bass lesson not freaking keyboard. makes me wonder if you can even play anyway
hey, i dont play the bass, but i play the piano. i like the chords you are playing and the progressions, but i cant figure them out by ear. i was wondering if you could make some videos on piano/ keyboard gospel progressions. that would really be helpfull. thanks!
Just find your lowest Db on your A string and start from there. The number system works any where on the fret board regardless of how many strings you have. Thx for checking out the video.
Because this peticular video was for bass players, i didnt feel the need to show the chords i was playin. I WILL be posting the chords soon and i will show what im playing. I dont consider myself a keyboardist anymore but I will do my best.
You're a great teacher. Great video - watched 3 / 4 times and I'm learning a lot. Any idea where I can get sheet music for this song? Haven't been able to find it on internet. In my church the music group likes to see the music.
I'm self taught on bass but it's very rudimentary. What's the best way to learn it, if I read tab better than I read music for bass? My major instrument is trombone.
Whatsup Man! U a beast on keys and bass! I'm a young musician myself; drums, keyboards, organ, piano, and im teaching myself the bass! I just got me a bass for christmas! I've been playin it ever since! We need to get together one time and shed! Be blessed!
good job brother thanks for sharing. can you tell me this - when soloing,i remember that there are 7 scales in each scale but how do i know when to major or minor the scale ? for ex. if im groovin in G, i can use A, B, C, D, E and/or F to get a different sound right ?
but how do i know whether or not to major or minor them ? and then which major or minor (ionian or lydian) - ( dorian or phrygian or aeolian ) ??
In G major, F is not in the scale. Its sharpened so its F#. In the scale modes, the 2nd, 3rd and the 6th mode are minor (Dorian, phygian and locrian) Hope this helps.
thanks a lot bro...I play in a spanic church but I always wanted to learn how to play this style of music..so please make more videos like this.God bless you
God Bless you for freely giving what you have to those of us who want to get better. On the subject of sharps and flats it would be helpful for you to familiarize yourself with the circle of fifths and to be able to play through the scales in this way. It will make the idea of not mixing # & b.
Finally! Nice job! I can't even begin to tell you how valuable this information is. As a reborn christian, I was asked to play bass at my church, needless to say I was lost for quite awhile, I could have really used this info back then.
You should mention that even contemporary praise and worship music uses these kinds of changes alot these days (at least at my church) we do ALOT of Israel/New Breed stuff.
Anyways, so glad to see you're doing this. KEEP IT UP!
I would like to thank everyone for their support. The reason i make these videos is because when i first started playing i couldnt find anyone willing to show me anything. So this is my way to help those of you that cant find anyone willing to take you to the next level.
At my church we do alot of songs in C# so i like having that open Bb on the bottom. When I first started playing i had a 4 string and I would tune that 3 steps lower.
How are things going in your playing situation at your church? I like to go back and read comments people make and I noticed yours. Let me know if I can help.
I'll also join the list of people requesting the chords. :) I'm learning bass but I'm trying to learn piano too and your chord progressions are real nice. Thx again for Part 1.
dud you have been a blessing to me i am a up and comer. i love that you did this you how great patience may god continue to bless you and yours i thank god for you.
you mix sharps and flats when naming the notes in the C# scale and you use sharpened and natural notes; this is not good practice (its not wrong, but it makes theory comprehension difficult). Its better to use sharps or flats only. It would be easier to just say you are in the enharmonic equivalent scale of C# Major which is Db major which has 5 flats, Db, Eb, Gb, Ab, Bb, or stick with C# Major which has all notes sharpened. Keep up the lessons man, I love gospel and bass.
thx for the advice. I didnt know that ur supposed to either use flats of sharps, not both. My music theory is limited and im self taught when it comes to what theory that i know. I will keep your advise in mind in any future lessons. Thx for checkin out my vid.
you teach very good, you make it simple;other musician will not show anything thats could you show the chord on the piano to i love you lord today thanks shak2al
why make it complicated, at the end of the day does it work, does it sound good, and does it make sense. since yes is the answer to all of the above, you're being way too technical and complicated. he keeps it simple for anyone from beginning to intermediate to understand.
Are you afraid of constructive criticism Guitwidit2? While I respect your opinion, I disagree that my post was complicated and technical. I'm sure Semaj and other people have benefited from my comment. Music is a form of human expression, music theory is a way of allowing us to understand this expression, not to retard it. Moreover, knowing music theory does not necessarily make you any better or worse at playing an instrument. It is simply a tool, that every musician can benefit from.
Thanks for the lessons. I am primarily a lead guitar player but I play bass too. I think of numbers when playing chords and licks on the guitar too.

Why do you have it tuned a half step down? Is that just for playing those odd keys in a different position? Eb is odd on a 4 string.
