Could somebody tell me whats that part inside the pink wrapper, not the battery, but that square shaped thing that came out after the pack with the cds and stuff.

i got that peice as well with my hp and it got me thinking what the hell is this thing.

Hi, the square part in the wrapper is the dvd drive cover, the dvd drive can be removed by pressing a button below the laptop and this square thing cover the hole of the drive, I think that this is a option when you travel with the laptop and you don't need to use the dvd drive, you can remove it and put the cover to take off some weigh.

thnx i knew it would have to do something with the drive cuz it matched the whole part but i didnt know i could remove the drive i dnt think i wont try to remove it.

yeah... you must to press or slide a button in the back of the laptop, behind the dvd drive and pull the dvd drive out of the laptop's body, that's how I did it before.

@jay1black619 thats the tray that can replace the your optical drive if you wanna remove it to save weight you pull your dvdrom out and replace with that if ya waan save a bout a pound of carry

Sorry about the delay, but ... I change this because it is a very expensive laptop to bring in the street just to help me with my work, I buy the Aspire One only for employment, the HP's in my house for design purposes and games

i have a 1166 special edition looked just like this one but instead a regular 6 cell battery it came with a 12 cell battery stand up on the rear which is pretty annoying, even it offer longer battery life but still not a very nice thing to have.

and man i love your bag, i really hope mine came with one too!

Hi, sorry about the delay. I bought the standard 6 cell battery, the lifetime of the battery in simple task like make some text and browse the web is about 2 and a half hour, in hard task like play games like COD4 the lifetime is dramatically decreased, maybe one hour or a little more, but the average is 2 hours browsing the web and doing other tasks.

Thanks, I select this one because the size is perfect for me, is very mobile and the hardware is awesome, I have a very good experience with some games like Battlefield 2 and COD4, I have installed now Windows 7 and Ubuntu 8.10 and the whole hardware works just fine.
