Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is inspired by great games such as the Silent Hill series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
This is not Silent Hill at all and neither was Homecoming. Silent Hill 1-4 where the real Silent Hill Games. That goes to show that the Japanese know more about Storyline, thats S-T-O-R-Y-L-I-N-E, than the yanks do. Video Games shouldn't be a buisness, they should be a work of art. The Survival Horror Genre is dead now, unfortunately.
Is it just me or has it been since the movie came up, they're making the games more like the movie? I'm not a big fan of the button mashing.. but I'm going to try the game anyway.

I don't think Silent Hill has been hurt too bad by it; So far they at least still have decent stories and such. i would like to say that in my opinion silent hill has survived with this long just because its a good game i love the confusing stories and alternate endings and the creatures are something unique i loved silent hill 1 all the way up to now im a hardcore silent hill fan aswell resident evil is good buuuuut capcom is losing the touch i mean resident evil was much more fun when you got scared to turn the next corner or walk by a window with ouy something popping out and mutilating you
@superrkoman Hah. Resident Evil is far from good right now. 5 was terrible as a horror game. Downpour is looking amazing so far. You should check out the newer trailers.

Well, the music at the end is from Myst online : Uru live. It's composed by Tim Larkin and is mesmerizingly beautiful. Is he the one doing SH Downpour's music ?

I had high hopes until i read Akira Yamaoka left the project. How can this even be called Silent Hill without Akira scoring it? The developers are simply using the name to get more people interested in their take on survival horror. I bet it's a mediocre crock of shit too.
@UpcoRaul The producer decided Korn would fit well within the SH universe and be great as the main theme. Bullshit! Good luck to David Licht he needed a big break. He's had a massive career as a horror composer for some terrible films. But the fact is Akira Yamaoka is a force to be reckoned with and he made half of what Silent Hill is. Im wondering why he left the project.

Yamaoka didn't "left" the project, he is not making the music for this one because he and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn did the soundtrack from the game Shadows of the Damned and some solo album project, he said he can still work on more silent hills in the future. I mean the guy isn't "tied" to one project only for the rest of his life right? And besides that, Lynch is an amazing composer, he gave us the full soundtracks of Hellraiser movies, and Dexter tv series.

the silent hill series was the scariest, freakiest and creepiest thing I've ever experienced on TV true story! SH4 was the hardest, SH3 was the most fun, SH 1 and 2 were the scariest!
@9Mcgusto6 Silent Hill provides a means for the sinner to repent and live. What you see is a manifestation of your crimes based on your worst fears and mistakes. Alessa - Silent Hill itself - isn't trying to "kill" people. It's trying to make them repent.
Prison is prison. Unless you live your life hoping there's a riot for you to escape (never happens), nobody cares if you repent. You're in for good.
Plus, Murphy here is running a life sentence - near death row.
@RebornAleph Ah alright. I understand better now. That comment is coming from someone yet to play a game in the series, but is seriously contemplating it. But yeah, American prison is a bit worse than Australian prison, so you might have a point there...
@9Mcgusto6 If you're going into the series now, I'd reccomend being prepared to read quite a long bit. If you're looking for good casual horror fun, you can still enjoy Silent Hill, but for one, it's ingenuity lie in the more obscure and psychological aspects of the storyline - aspects which can only fully be understood quite a while after being a fan.
In a nutshell, it'll all "start to make sense" only after the third finished game.

@Cybolic I read the entire thing and I get what you mean... but so far there is little to no possible way to know of a connection.
So far, from all the information I have been gathering, there is absolutely no correlation between the two - wouldn't be very usual to the series either. The only connections are usually Alessa and/or Silent Hill itself.
@RebornAleph You're probably right that they are unrealted, I guess it's just that black postman he meets in the beginning in both Past Life and Downpour that makes the connection for me.
That and the whole "you can't escape murder"/past victims coming back thing (which is what it looks like in Downpour as well, but I might be projecting). But then again, I guess those two themes are pretty common for SH, at least the first two.

There are no means to repeat a manifestation. Each and every manifestation in a Silent Hill story is a reflection of the protagonists' crimes.
Pyramid Head in Homecoming is, put simply, Alessa's means to relate both protagonists.
I see female bodies so I assume his crimes related to rape or direct female target. Could be mother/sister/ex-girlfriend issues or crimes as well.

the game looks great but to me the music doesnt fit, it's not the same as the other silent hill games. you dont get that "creepy" feeling.

@trinimadnesss Akira Yamaoka's work is definitely one of the best parts of a Silent Hill atmosphere, yes. I agree that far.
But... let's give it a go. I haven't played a Silent Hill game that has disappointed me yet.

@Cybolic I read the entire thing and I get what you mean... but so far there is little to no possible way to know of a connection.
So far, from all the information I have been gathering, there is absolutely no correlation between the two - wouldn't be very usual to the series either. The only connections are usually Alessa and/or Silent Hill itself.

@RebornAleph You're probably right that they are unrealted, I guess it's just that black postman he meets in the beginning in both Past Life and Downpour that makes the connection for me.
That and the whole "you can't escape murder"/past victims coming back thing (which is what it looks like in Downpour as well, but I might be projecting). But then again, I guess those two themes are pretty common for SH, at least the first two.
