Harris hawks are amazing the way they cope with all the noice and they people. There a great bird. Also it dosent matter about not killing the pigeons it dosent have to if it can jsut fly around and scare them off so...
unlikely that a harris would get anywhere close to a pigeon in full flight, pigeon deterent more than a pigeon killer. i bet that bird didnt get a single kill on that day
@ gymlord come on, i fly both male & female and you reacon that a harris could catch a pigeon in full flight! a bird going about 40 mph. falcons maybe but not harrises. tell you what you film it ,(in full flight) we watch it & if your right ill give you 5 *
@foxy358. Pigeon, pheasant, grouse, mine takes them all. If yours is not able to do this, maybe its not at its flying weight. I will try to film something, next time im out with him, however hes in moult just now therefore realistically youre looking at summer before any vids.
@foxy358 What is Moult??? Obviously you fly your bird in Moult. I cant believe you think a pigeon is beyond my bird lololol You must all fly extremely poor birds then. No offence meant.
@ gymlord people say a bird is in moult when its shedding its feathers for new ones, its not normal practice to fly birds at this time, although you still can.look forward to seeing a vid of your harris catching a grouse in full flight, tell me is you bird male or female and what is its flying weight and fat weight?
Harris's Hawk right? Not sure on the spelling. This hawk seems to be popular in the UK. Goshawk and Sparrow hawk have been fascinating me for a while now.
