I know this book is well intentioned, but it is actually more likely to traumatize a child. All you need to tell your child is that if anyone is touching them in a way that makes them uncomfortable that they need to get them to stop or report it. Putting a certain part of the body off limits will cause problems when kids accidentally touch there and the poor kids don't understand that that isn't the same as sexual harassment.

Mental abuse can be much more damaging than physical abuse, including sexual abuse, yet everybody's focused only on sexual abuse - it's an unhealthy obsession. This book is telling children to be suspicious of adults, and to report them to the authorities if they think they are doing something that goes against the book! It does not tell the kids what happens after they go to the authorities. The aftermath can be worse than the abuse!

And as has been previously demonstrated, little children cannot tell the difference between "appropriate" and "inappropriate" touch, or even in many cases fantasy and reality, and so many innocent people have been falsely imprisoned because they were accused by a child.

It would be best for a child in such a situation to tell first the other parent, then another relative if that doesn't work. Often such problems can be solved within the family without involving the law, and the result is much easier on the child and the rest of the family. When the heavy hand of the state falls on a family, it usually means the end of the family, even if only one person was guilty.

That's the reason why this keeps happening, because if they don't invoved the law, the bastards that are abusing the child will get away with it, just because you don't want to end the family. First of all if is family, why abuse an innocent? Second of all who ever is abusing the child must be punished! Because if only the family tries to solve it within the family without involving the law, that will continue, maybe not with the same child, but with others of the same family.

Child abuse can take many forms other than touching. Mental abuse can be much more damaging than physical abuse, including sexual abuse, yet everybody's focused only on sexual abuse - it's an unhealthy obsession. This book is telling children to be suspicious of adults, and to report them to the authorities if they think they are doing something that goes against the book! It does not tell the kids what happens after they go to the authorities. The aftermath can be worse than the abuse!

Wanna hear my secrets? My mother was abused as a child, by her father. Her side of the family was a mess because of it. Yet she survived, and so did the rest of the family. We all pulled through (it affects more than 1 generation) and most of the family has forgiven my grandfather. Believe me when I tell you the reaction is worse than the abuse itself.
It is bad to give children the power to "rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death" (Gospel of Matthew, 10:21).
