I have been reading through the comments and I have noticed that people really don't understand what the brawl was about. This was not about the quality of the fighting, it was about the sheer intensity and the insane amounts of bad blood that ripped through the province, my province, throughout the 1980's. This was undoubtedly the best rivalry in hockey, and one of the best in all of sports at this time.

Please people, let us remember the rivalry, the tension, and the quality of hockey that was played througout the 1980's and first half of 1990's (ignoring Quebec's futility from 1988-1992). As a devout Canadiens fan I miss the Battle of Quebec and I wish that the Nordiques had never left.
