i know israel will not let any refugees back (they just are standing firm on their ethnic cleansing, and even expanding daily). nonetheless, i support BDS to realize a viable palestine. the group founding BDS does seek full rights for the refugees, yet that does not mean others cannot support BDS as the ONLY way we can change the power dynamics, and achieve, with success, a viable 2 state solution. a website does not define a movement in its entirety, nor make us monolithic. we need BDS.

The fight for human rights and social justice has been hijacked. When the world should be crying out against malnutrition, disease, conflict and repressive regimes that violate the most basic human rights, many who call themselves humanitarian remain silent. Instead, they align themselves with the very regimes that cause so much misery.

How can it be that Turkey finds support among human rights advocates, when it denies the Armenian Genocide, oppresses its Kurdish population and occupies Northern Cyprus? How can we allow Saudi Arabia to sit on the United Nations Human Rights Council when it is one of the greatest abusers of Human Rights?

How can a true humanitarian defend the huge sums that go to the Palestinian Authority, frittered away on payments to terrorists, casinos and corruption? It should be spent on educating their children for peace, infrastructure and projects for peaceful co-existence.

How can it be that Syria and Lebanon have friends in the human rights community, when they abuse their Palestinian brothers, keeping them in camps for over 60 years? They should be granted citizenship and be treated like human beings, rather than pawns in a battle. It is time for the world to regain the moral initiative.

I haveen't heard Daniel May before but I am impressed. He is correct. The reaction to BDS at colleges is not going to move the peace process forward. It will move it backward.

Also, wtf with his comparison at 5:00, the parallelism of his sentence structure insinuates that it were Israelis that were dying en masse and Palestinians only had to worry about jail sentences? 1:100 was the death ratio of Israelis to Palestinians (for civilians the ratio was even more outrageous). Suicide bombings have all but ended against Israelis, and no thanks to the half-built wall that only serves to appropriate more of the West Bank (Palestinian illegal immigrants cross in daily).
