There is not a difference between the limited edition and the regular edition once you have used any bonus content that it game with. Why would they give you more? Its not like who ever buys it next gets to reap the benefits.

Anybody who goes to Gamestop knows that they're being ripped off. The key is to rip them off yourself. There are some pretty easy ways to take advantage of gamestop. Their 7-day no questions return policy basically gives me free game rentals. When you trade in 7 games you get a %30 bonus on all of those games traded. You can buy games on eBay or half.com for even less money than Gamestop would give you. You can also buy some pretty rare games there for really cheap if you know what to look for.

It would only be a rip off if they somehow forced you to sell them your game for that much, if you don't want the money then don't sell it? The wholesale price of games is a matter of dollars (maybe $5 tops) less than what the retailer charges the consumer. Since a used game is less likely to sell than a new copy, the profit margin needs to be larger on used copies. It's good business sense rather than a rip off.

I don't get why in this case Gamestop is ripping you off. You don't have to trade games in there, it's an option. And that price isn't to bad. The law in retail is double your money. So they give you $27 and most likely would sell it at $54. If you don't double your money in retail, it's very hard to survive.

The way I combat that is too 1. Not use EB Games or Gamestop at all. 2. Not trading in used games because if I cannot afford it, then I do not need it.

Yeah...GS sucks. I bought a ps3 three days before sony decided to give a $50 price cut on such... called Gamestop the very next day after price cut. They wouldnt even give me 50 bucks in credits even though i purchased it almost right before the price cut. -_- I heard Target, etc does price adustments...why cant gamestop? Rediculous.
From now on im buying games from walmart or target... i did learn from my experience. I thought GameStop was cool and everything...but i was wrong.

@Velocity98 Since that is about an accurate price is for used PS2 stuff: Console w/ controller = $20 and memory cards and multitaps starting at around $9 at Gamedude, games = around $0.99 to $15 (depending on which games) at GameStop, and controllers are about $12 as well so...
20 + 18 + 24 + (let's be generous and say $8 a game) + 96 = $158 for a used bundle from a console made a decade ago. Pretty decent sale. If you want to say every single game you gave in I will happily add it up correctly

Meaning that they didn't take all that much from you. Also keep in mind that I didn't factor in the trade in value for any of the games or merchandise and the accessory prices were from Gamedude, so the prices for these accessories could be different. Pretty good work on that trade. I really wouldn't complain about it at all

i had some games i didnt want so i put them in their cases and walked 2 blocks down to gamestop, it was 5 games (one including gears of war 2 limited edition). When i got there they said they would give me $50 for it, i said no, when i was leaving a guy looked at my games and said he would give me $150 dollars for it. The guy at the register said i could'nt do that in there so we stepped outside and i got my $150, i walked back in to the guy, looked him in the eye and said go fuck yourself

It would only be a rip off if they somehow forced you to sell them your game for that much, if you don't want the money then don't sell it? The wholesale price of games is a matter of dollars (maybe $5 tops) less than what the retailer charges the consumer. Since a used game is less likely to sell than a new copy, the profit margin needs to be larger on used copies. It's good business sense rather than a rip off.

I don't get why in this case Gamestop is ripping you off. You don't have to trade games in there, it's an option. And that price isn't to bad. The law in retail is double your money. So they give you $27 and most likely would sell it at $54. If you don't double your money in retail, it's very hard to survive.

Gamestop preys on those who are financially irresponsible. How else can you explain someone who buys a game for $60 plus tax and sells it back for pennies on the dollar after only a short period of time? The logical approach would be to rent the game if you only want it for a short period of time. Gamestop wants business from people who get caught up on their emotions only to realize they could not afford it and are willing to take a huge loss. @stdspk they do not rip you off they make you an offer based on supply and demand for your USED game. you can take it or leave it. used games have a 7 day full refund period. so you willingly sell or walk away. they pray on no one they want to give less for games that are just going to sit around for months and go down in price. what are you expecting to get out of it? they have 30 copies laying around. at 14.99 and before long they lower to 12.99 and soon to 9.99 and 7.99.
