Is it too much to task to have a competent person reviewing it, when you first get the chance? Memory card? You mean the RAM of the mobile GPU? And is that the only thing which changed... He got no clue whatsoever what he's talking about. Also learn the specs in advance, it takes 2 secs... jeez.

I really hope it has a better display quality than the UL30VT. I bought one of those but the viewing angles were horrible and the colors looked washed out

while this is a nice laptop the new Vaio Z is the "Ultimate 13inch laptop to get"

Standard voltage i7, 330m graphics, raided SSDs, backlit keyboard, led screen with 1600x900 resolution and 4 gigs of ram standard. All for the high high price of 2300$ :P

I'll be getting the ul30jt because I can't justify spending that much money on the Vaio, I just wanted to be an internet douche and correct you there haha.

Well, the A1 costs 850, with the optical drive would have been 900+, so that was too much money. Plus, the black looks better anyway.

I really dont think the m11x looks much nicer, it looks like a slab of cement with a really box-y plastic shell. I'm not sure if you've seen the two, but the JT is pretty sleek the m11x looks like a monster

I JUST bought the UL30VT-X1 from Amazon, and its being shipped to my house this week. I got it because of your review. But when I checked your channel out, I came across this video...now I am beginning to regret buying the X1. Is there really THAT MUCH of a difference between? Did I get a good laptop with the UL30VT-X1?

i personally have the ul80vt, which is the 15 inch version rather than the 13 inch version in the 30vts. im gonna tell you to cancel your order because the 30vts have horrible trackpads-- just downright horrible. the newer jt will have i7 and better graphics card, but most importantly it will have the normal matte trackpad.

I got the 30Vt and I love it so far. I don't mind the trackpad that much, it actually feels better than other dimpled trackpads, like HP's peices of crap

this thing is not made for gaming! the graphics card on the thing is a mainstream line only. the alienware M11x will blow this thing out the water as far as gaming goes.. thats for sure! check out the Nvidia website for graphics specs and your know what i mean gammers!

Apparently the UL line doesn't have a good quality of displays. They suffer from poor viewing angles and so-so blacks. While this could be just ok for an average user, I wanted something a little bit more, because I plan to do some minor work in Photoshop.

Do you remember if the JT has a matte finish on the palm rests? I'm not a big fan of the shiny glossy palm rests on the VT.

It looks like the JT does have a matte finish on the palms from your video but I want to be sure.

Also, should I buy the 30VT now or wait for the 30JT? I might as well wait right? Since i've waited this long and the JT should be around the corner...

To all the people planning on getting a UL30VT with the old Core 2 Duo ULV processors... Wait for the UL30JT with the Arrandale ULV's!!!!

This is intel's single most largest performance gain in a micro-architecture change: at least 20%!!! They literally will kick Core 2 Duo's ass twice as fast.

Sure the graphics isnt much of a upgrade, but the processor upgrade is definitely worth it

Im wondering about price of this laptop.

In our country the UL30VT costs 709 euro = 997 USD thats is much higher comparing to the 699 USD from the amazon.

GPU is virtually the same as the UL30vt, with more memory. Battery life should be on par. It has automatic overclocking / underclocking and automatic graphics switching, whereas you have to manually do that on the ul30vt. Pretty cool.

nice. you said better battery life though? It can't be if the processor and gpu is more powerful. It will 12 hour battery life if idle on integrated graphics and maybe downclocked cpu. That's good that it's the same size as your ul30vt, I've got a ul80vt and it's really slim. Very strong laptop that.

I think the i5 CPU does downclocks more but also can overclock higher than Core 2 ULV CPUS, perhaps that's why 12 hours of battery life. Either way, it will be more powerful yet battery should last longer.
