Well there are more games out now that makes it much more fun. The set up is alittle than less desirable, but the over all game is a good game, the mansion is random.... and thats good, in a horror movie/game you dont know what is going to happen... duh.
One more thing its 30$ for 4 players, and there are a few upgrades to it now. if each friend buys one different game then you only paid 30$ for 4 games to play :D
Excellent review and explanation of the game! I picked this up last night and played for a few hours with a buddy and we were unsure if we were playing correctly, as this was our first deck building game.
Thanks for the great video, I look forward to watching more.
Ok thank u. But i still am confused, what about cards like "quirk of fate or fierce battle" that allows to gain cards, but from where? the deck or the resource pile?
Can you only play in one theme or are there other themes such as racoon city or a diff country like in #5 or take place in a airport? just woundering!
@Angeal1889 If I understand correctly, you start with a deck of 10 cards and draw 5 each turn. Anything you buy goes to the discard pile and you can't use that turn and you discard your hand at the end of each turn. But, when your deck runs out of cards, you shuffle the discard pile and it becomes your new deck. So you start with 10 cards, that'll reshuffle in 2 turns. After those turns, you'll have a deck that's a little larger depending on what you bought and success in the mansion
the game lacks items like flash light allowing you to see the next 5 enemy cards but then you need battery cards that would have to be recharged or found .....
Does anyone know who makes the best sleeves vs cost? I haven't played many card games but I know what human hands & the cruel nature of time can do to them. I've got this series so I'd like to keep them pristine.
So yeah a brand name & fair price point for what you get would be much appreciated, & if at all possible I'd like the sleeves to seem "seamless" (no pun intended) like them being so thin or tight on the card that it doesn't seem they're even on.
awesome video my friend, it helps me soo much... but i have some doubts
1 - Is the exploration optional? (isnt it kind of lame, like until you have your deck ready (like 40 to 50 damage in every hand), you would fight with no problem)
2 - if i have 40 gold, and i buy a handgun, i would have 20 left, do i save them or do i lose it after i finish my turn?
3 - what happens when you trash a card? does it go back to the resources pile? or does it go out of the game?
1: It isn't necessary to explore every turn, unless a player is forced to by a card's effect. It is up to the player's discretion to enter the mansion
2: The gold does go away at the end of the turn. It does not stack at the end of each turn.
3: A trashed card goes back into the resource pile. Some, like weapons, need to be put underneath the pile because there are special weapons you can buy in some categories if they are the next weapon to be bought.
@Mazeton009 Uhm you dint have to explore like you can keep buying the 30 Gold Ammunition untill it Runs Out The You Should Buy The Three Shooter Which is the Magnum That Does 50 And REquires 50 So if You use Th Card With The Action Card With The Manision On It You Draw 2 Cards From Your Deck And You Could End Up With 4 30 Gold And Ammuntion so 30x4 90 Ammo And If use Your Manision Card You Could Buy the Best SMG That Does 35 So 50+35=85 Damage And You Can Explore untill u kill urobourus.
We've just had a Mercenaries mode 2 v 2 tournament just recently from a local card shop, using the first set and the expansion set. Too bad I've lost due to bad luck and getting Wesker via random player card pick and my opponent had Krauser from the expansion set. Plus, my partner died too early by encountering an infected with 55HP with 30Atk and a Gatling gun majini.
there are 250 cards + 2 promo cards for the first edition (this one), in the alliance edition you find another 250 cards and so on... visist bandaicg dot com, or something like that.
I thought this game was great. So much so that I even bought the "expansion", Alliance. I spent an hour and a half playing this game the first time....and I was starving and had to pee for about an hour of the game...but was enjoying it too much to move from the table. LMAO. Then again, I am a big Res Ev Fan...Even my voicemail says "You have reached the voice mail box of THE UMBRELLA CORPORATION. Our Business is Life itself".
This is a great concept for those who don't have the video games or want to play with a group of friends. I bought the game the other day because the franchise is awesome and thinking this game would be fun. Feels like Resident Evil, therefore, must act like Resident Evil, which it does. Pros: Quick and easy to play. Cons: Poor setup (would have been nice if a mat or plastic layout was included), add boosters?
@mebinici A mat was given at Release parties for Resident Evil DBG Alliance. Only one mat was given to each event, soooooooooo...most of the time they had tournaments to see who would win the mat. You can, however, find photos of the mat online. I found a "life-size" photo that I intend to print out and use until I can get my hands on a mat in the secondary market.
@ghostku566 I believe (if I understand correctly) you can play any number of items from your hand during your turn. I.E. if you have 2 base (0) ammo cards, a knife and 2 handguns, you will only be able to use one of the handguns and the knife for 15 dmg.
ok a question. for you to be able to buy stuff like in the beginning do you have to have a weapon equipped or can you just drop down all of your ammo without having a weapon just to buy stuff??
The concept of the game feels very similarly to Munchkin. The content may be different, but it's very similar in play. Must have equipment that adds together and must be higher than the health of the monster. Turning a card over to see if you have to face a monster or an item.
@FabianDanielB There are only 250 cards in the box. The FOIL Chris and Jill cards (and a very RARE Foil Wesker card) were provided via pre-order for stores. Some stores gave them out to whomever bought the games first until the cards ran out. Other places sold them separately. In the expansion Game, Alliance, there is a FOIL Wesker Mutation card you can get from some stores, but it is a Foil of a card already in the deck, so you aren't missing much except for shininess.
i can see the problem with it , the one you stated , but i think its just a first draft of it . the company most likely is gonna release booster packs with more cards, its gonna be terrible becase of the cost but a bit more interesting. this game has some potential but its not ready, not yet. they rushed to release it and here is what you get , a good idea, cheap cards and half poor scenarios
i feel like all Bandai cards come warped! i play Naruto and every time i buy cards their bent like that. i plat a ton of other tcg's like magic and the cards always come straight!! but whatever i love Bandai tcg's & ccg's soo it's cool and i really really want to start playing this i LOVE the resident evil franchise!
thank you for posting this breakdown video. so far the game has appealed to me but there really aren't any inside looks on the cards. Hopefully the expansions that are planned will provide the 'missing aspect' of the game that people are complaining about. i can't believe the box is organized by numbers tho ><
The part about the facedown deck was actually supposed to happen. The creators of th game said that when you are entering the mansion, its like opening a random door with something behind it. Its trying to put back the horror aspect back into the game like in the original you don't know whats behind that door, it can be a briefcase with a rocket launcher or it could be nemesis trying to kill you. Who knows? The point is its so people don't just stock up and waste turns b4 going in the mansion.
@ddr101 I agree completely man! My friend and I made a custom game where Nemesis is the strongest card in the deck, and even IF you kill him, he gets shuffled back in like the Uroboros, because in RE3 the game, even when you defeat him, he keeps coming back. Suspenseful as fuck when there's two cards left and you know one is Nemmy!
i've just gotten this game a few days ago and i'm having trouble setting up the game layout. i've packed all the card into their respective slots but i am unsure of how to set up the cards on a TABLE for a game. Would someone please explain how to layout the cards for a story-mode game?
I got this game for Christmas and I have a few problems with it also. There are a bunch of cards that I really just don't understand and just can't figure out if I'm playing them right. The second problem I have with the game would be that there are typos in the booklet, and that I don't think there are 250 cards. Being that when they tell you to take out the infeced cards, its says that there are 35 infeced in all, and I only have 33 per whats on the back of the booklet.
I've actually been trying to find sleeves that fit the cards, and have possibly found the perfect type. Try looking for Standerd size Dragon Shield brand card sleeves. I got a Wesker Promo Foil off of Ebay and it came in one those types of sleeves and it was a perfect fit. I asked the guy who I hade bought it from and he said Dragon Shield is the brand of sleeves he used. I'd recommend looking into that type of brand.
None of my cards did not come to me warped. Though the manuel had some errors. (one of the meing that "The Mater of unlocking" was printed instead of Master of unlocking) but that didn't bother me. I love it. And it takes a long time to play yes but its worth it.
Good review, i liked the way he shows the cards but, i didn't like the ending coments...Look, the game is new, you can't expect it to have like ten thousand cards, also like in the videogame frabchise, you don't know what you're going to fight in the next room, it's like that to put some suspense of the franchise, and i don't like that you said that i like to have a quick play, no i don't, i just wanna have fun no matter what time it takes :P So, you can have fun and those bad things are fake :P
Very nice review you made Jeremy, I enjoyed it. The problem with cards that were warped isn't just happening to you. I've had the same problem.
