cymbals is alot harder than most people think. you have to be able to count better than anyone on the field. and know the techniques it takes to get the right sounds.
ya know people dont give cymbals enough credit, to get the consistant sound and quality of playing these guys are giving it takes a ton of practice and suffering (the heat of the practices + the weight and continuous movement)i <3 scv
it'd be cool to have each player have a certain size of cymbals, because you can be able to have splits on them for their different pitches, like a bass line.
we do that at our high school, but i noticed that not many drum corps have cymbal lines
That was some crazy stuff there. I am in a HS Cymbal line and we can make all the same sounds they did, but man they were so very precise. The only problem was their hihats. We do back hats so it looks stronger and I think it makes a better sound.
Where is the Santa Clara Vanguard, because they are one of the cymbal lines I look to the most and would really like to join if they are not too far.
This probably was early in their season. Their angles were all over the place, and a lot of the sizzle/slide/gong parts were very dirty. Although, by the end of the season, they pulled off a badass show. Very good year for the Cymbal Line.
Ya it was, but this is easily the best cymbal section year in year out. So much more control over the cymbals than most. In fact, I noticed most corps not even marching them except SCV and Madison

You shouldn't hate cymbals. They give a lot of tonal colour to an ensemble and provide a lot of unique sounds.
