  • The question of my life: WHY GUTE NACHT IS NOT SPELLED WITH AN "N" AT THE END OF THE WORD "GUTE" LIKE ALL THE OTHER GREETINGS ?!

  • @catalinid007 im from germany.. i try to explain it:

    der Tag (Guten Tag);

    der Abend (Guten Abend);

    der Morgen (Guten Morgen);

    die Nacht (Gute Nacht)

its "die Nacht" (the night) and not "der Nacht"; so you say "Gute Nacht"

i hope you understand the difference :)

  • lol, you have a funny way to pronounce tschüss. that's actually not the way germans would pronounce it. the ü is a vowel, which you have to speak longer, it's never a short vowel. and i know that, because i am german.

  • warum quiet tricky?tschüüss is doch voll simpel

  • @luzifersissy Weil sie ist Amerikanerin?

  • @luzifersissy Weil sie ist Amerikanerin?

  • @luzifersissy Weil sie ist Amerikanerin?

  • @kevin0w

Einfach magisch.Es ist kaum zu glauben.

  • How do you say Fuck you In German? :P

  • @dadnapt24 Fuck you = Fick dich

  • @priki7 Lol now I know wut imma say to my teacher :P

  • @dadnapt24

    fick dich

  • My girl has guten pussy xD

  • @sgtgrizzo hahahaha

  • in the word "Tschuss"

why is there 2 s's instead of the awkward B?

  • @zomgitzakitteh its because its like a long sound s or something, when its after a vowel with an umlaut or something. and in switzerland im pretty sure they dont even use the double SS symbol. lived in germany for a while i should have picked up more but i didnt

  • @zomgitzakitteh If the vowel before the ss or ß is spoken shortly, you write ss and if its spoken as a long vowel you use ß. For example in the word 'Fußball', which means soccer, the u is spoken longly, so you use that ß instead of writing Fussball. In the word 'Tschüss', the ü is short, so ss is fine. But that are newer rules, when i was a child, it was Tschüß!

  • In the end of the video (where every thing starts with "good")

why is "good night" in german "GUTE nacht" instead of "GUTEN" like every other phrase?

is there a language rule for this?

if so, can anyone please tell me what it is?

  • @zomgitzakitteh Its because in german 'Nacht' is feminine while 'Morgen, Tag, Abend' are masculine.

  • @zomgitzakitteh Ok ... First of all: In the German language you've 3 gender: 1. Male (m), 2. Female (f) and 3. Neuter (n). Examples: A male word is (der) Tisch - (the) table. A female word is (die) Katze - (the) cat, and a neuter word is (das) Wasser - (the) water. How to see wheter a word is m., f. or n.? You have to learn it.

You can see which gender a word is on the word before the noun: DIE Katze - Die is ALWAYS female. DER Hund - DER is ALWAYS male and DAS Wasser - DAS is ALWAYS neuter...

  • @synozome

isn t it called neutrum or sächlich

echt mal NEUTER hab ich ja noch nie gehört das klingt ja wie neue euter oder sächliche kühe

  • @zomgitzakitteh ... Ok now to your question: DIE Nacht (the night) = Female. The adjective has to be female, too if the adjectives is connected with "die Nacht" so it will be: Gute Nacht. If the word would be a male one (for example "Good dog") "der Hund" = (the) Dog, so it would be: Guter Hund(additional "r" on the end). If the word would be neuter (for example "Good water") "das Wasser" = (the) Water, so it would be: Gutes Wasser.

  • @MrEvansProductions ....Yeah like that =D!

  • I've hit a new low!! Only doing this to pull German birds in London on a night out!!

  • handy for black ops

  • i would really like to speak German. I'm pretty fluent in 2 other languages besides english......but i am determined!!! (Spanish and Japanese btw)

  • ++hey. very nice videos. U du inspire me in my lessons. You can check them out if u like. i 'd apreciate that. thxxx

  • I believe she mispronounced "Goodbye".

The "U" in Tschuss is emphasized and sounded out in a quick double "o" fashion like how you would say the "u" in the word "use".

  • @BlackenedThorn no it doesnt sound like that, its a ü. i dont know how to explain :D

  • @BiebersShawtyx33 Yes, but I don't know how to use the altered letters, so I basically described how it sounded.

And guess what, thats how it sounds.

  • @BlackenedThorn Letters with an umlaut over them are simply the original letter with an 'e' added to the end. For example: ä = ae, ö = oe, ü = ue. You would pronounce them by literally making the natural sound of the root letter, then the sound of the 'e', and find the sound between the two. For example: ohhh, ehhh, ooee.

  • @Marth8880 Yeah, thats what I'm trying to say.

Her pronunciation was slightly off, right?

  • @BlackenedThorn

    it s an Ü not an U

  • wer will bitteschön deutsch lernen ?
