pitbull were never bred for its color, they were bred for the bull baiting, bear baiting, and nanny dog, back then, all they think about is the dog performance, so i guess this merle pit is a rare pitbull... he sure is cute..

@marionsharees no body knows...some where along the lines someone mixed in a merle dog or a dog carrying the merle gene. doesnt really matter though does it? anyone breeding merle dogs better have some dogs worth a shit that they are at least doing SAR or therapy training with them. Theyll never be conformation champs or anything like that. People breeding merles for nothing other than some extra money are fools.(not saying you are or do)

I hope he is fixed or your planning to fix him. The merle color is unregisterable. No respectable pit bull registry will register a merle color'd pit bull. They are simply not allowed. He is a beautiful dog but he should never be bred. Merle is the only color pit bulls cannot be in. People call merle pit bulls "Merle mutts" for a reason.
