The autopsy was forbidden back then, but Da Vinci was slithering corpses for his "human body studies". This is why his drawings are so detailed. It is like making a pact with the devil to become "genius". It is sick to me though. Mengele was his admirer.
@LTDPoker How was performing autopsis like making a pact with the devil? Mengele was such a disgusting creature because of the torturous nature of his experiments. Leonardo's experimental subs were dead. I'm sure Mengele's fascination with Leonardo had more to do with his (Leonardo's) genius than with sharing an ideology.

Wrong.
Autopsy was forbidden before year of 1500, then it became legal.
Leonardo used to visit morgues where Autopsies were performed.
