  • Unlike the Tea Party people who believe there leaders are actually on the side of the people and are too blind to see that there politicians work solely for corporate interest aswell. They do not believe in free-markets like they love to espouse, because once they get into office they will impose monopolies on their biggest donors to weed out any competition. Get rational humans to obtain irrational perspectives is what propaganda is meant for. Sadly many Americans don't realize this.

  • This ridicules. So if you want to end the wars and bring the troops home, you are anti-American or hate the military? The opposite is true anti-troops and anti-Americanism. This also illustrates that corporate propaganda is more effective on the right. I am not saying that the democrats are not but by special interest aswell, but the difference is most of their constituency knows that. They continue to vote for them because they have no other choice.

  • anyone who think obamas hates the military has never been in it thats for sure, i think hes one of our best recent militarily involved presidents, marines who took marjah would know this very well

  • These are good and positive ones. Obama is anti american and has a severe hatred for the US military as he has for our Constitutional Republic. He needs to be gone in 2012 with all the rest of those leftist politicians! I am an Army veteran and appreciate your respect!

  • @stephenabm What does being anti-American actually mean?

  • I always, always appreciate your videos, and I think that your "rant" was cool, calm, and collected, which given the subject matter is very rare. That being said, I think the GOP is just as to blame as Obama. I guess you could argue that it's a matter of perspective, but it feels to me that the Republican controlled legislature was holding the budget for ransom in hopes of getting programs like CPB and Planned Parenthood cut.

  • @HowlinJay - with all due respect, I think you are missing the point of the video. I am not making a partisan comment. This video has absolutely nothing to do with Democrats, Republicans or Libertarians or any other political party. I was quite simply speaking to an issue related to support of the U.S. Military and their families. Thanks for commenting.

  • @USNERDOC And, I would say you missed the point of my comment. All that I'm saying is that it's not exclusively Obama's fault. The second comment that I posted was more of a side note.

  • @USNERDOC When the dollar collapses, I hope the U.S. military will commit mutiny and arrest all of their former masters, including the jewish banksters and the FED owners that have fully intentionally created a system that with mathematical certainty, would collapse itself in the end... these people are nothing but parasites, acting like they have authority. Look where they are taking your country - not a pretty sight.

  • @TheArtemisiolius

    "jewish banksters"?

Please keep your jew-hatred to yourself.

  • Well Doc, I don't think he's a "friend" to anyone except who'll keep him and his buddies rollin' in the direction their goin'! So to say your comment was a "rant" is to say it in the least, politely. They don't want to hear the truth. So they'll pout and cry when anyone that does give them the actual honest truth (cough cough McCrystal) and slaps it in their faces with it (which sometimes you just have to do to get your point across I'm afraid to say, truth be told). So no I say Rock on man!

  • hey i was wondering if you heard anything about somthing called Icef? i heard obama say somthing about a civiliian military on the radio a few days ago and i think he called it icef or ICEPH

  • Rant? You call that a rant? That is the quietest most polite rant I ever heard LOL...

  • Hey Doc. I only have a few things to say sir. First and foremost. ROGER THAT!!! and THANK YOU for voicing your opinion in this venue. These points COULD NOT be stressed more to the masses that don't understand what this would say to the men and women AND their families who put themselves in harms way EACH day so we may enjoy the things that most of us take for granted.

You really did not RANT per se, but as usual, very well spoken and a gentleman.

    Be well sir,

    OCTOS..................out

  • @octos2000 - Thank you sir! I always appreciate your comments. I think some folks misunderstood and felt this was political or someway a commentary on military operations. Actually, my only concern was people, the service member and their families . . . they are the ones making the sacrifice and consequently their welfare and security should not be table. I always appreciate your input!

  • this is the most obsurd thing I ever heard the liberalized agenda of the governments in all the Western Countries is wasting our countries away.... I testify to tears for our brave soldiers I am family to one...I also say that I think it is the worse shame to see Obama and all the other liberal agendas in this world...the politically imoral have nearly destroyed the nation of Canada and Obama is a liberal con like they have been! what a crap this world is become...

  • Doc- As a Marine currently serving in a non-active status, your "rant" was very much appreciated, and well received. The line "for every active duty... there is a family..." especially rings true. I grew up the son of a Marie, and many was the time I would hear the phone ring in the middle of the night and know Dad was going to be gone when I woke up for school. I never knew if Dad would be there when I got home from school, or if he would be coming home again.

    Freedom of Speech isn't Free.

  • @RingoShort - Thanks for the supportive words!

When I was an Emergency Physician on active duty I would always keep in the back of my mind that this husband / wife or child is a member of a family with someone on active duty. There is a shared sacrifice that isn't always apparent to the civilian counterpart. The mom typically has to go about everyday life going to school meetings, sports practice, birthdays and anniversaries without their spouse in attendance during a deployment evolution.

  • God Bless you doc !

  • Well said Doc. My wife is a federal employee who wouldn't of been affected pay wise by the shutdown and our servicemen and woman whom some qualify for food stamps would be. Give me a break. These folks work hard for what little money they get. Most do it for the love of OUR Country, but that doesn't put food on their table. 73 and Semper Fi Jim

  • I fully support a decrease to military spending.

  • While I do not believe the US armed forces should be empire building all over the world, I do believe that the people (men and women) who serve with honor in those armed forces should be treated with the respect that is their due. They serve for various reasons (most very honorable, few perhaps less so), but they do serve our country. This is another example of our government (mostly the leftists) disrespect for some of our best folks. Armed services personnel deserve better than this.

  • Thank you! I'm joining the U.S Marine Corps 2013. I love this country so very much! But I can't believe Obama would even consider this. These men and women risk it all for the U.S.A and Obama does not seem to care. This man's philosophy's are all the same as mine. My brother just joined the Marine Corps as well. And he goes to boot camp June 27th. God bless our troops. And god bless America, and all that defend her! Semper Fi

  • I am married to an active duty Soldier in the US Army and my sentiments are just as yours. My husband has served 2 tours in Iraq and to think that we could be so callously used as pawns by our own government is heartbreaking to me. Who's to say this shut down situation wont ever happen again?

  • Well said. Thank you for the video. My son is in Iraq right now. He has a wife and child. Your comments are right on. They were really worried how they were going to make it. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

  • Semper Fi from the Marine side of the house. Well said.

  • USNERDOC, I can't believe you have left some of these comments on here. Some of these bozos should go live in a country that isn't as free as the US. And why is the USA free? Because of the men and women in the armed forces. This is one of the reasons I have decided to not put up any videos on Youtube. I would not have the patience for these types of people. I agree with you that it is toatlly unacceptable for a president of the USA to say these things and to try and use the troops in this way.

  • @freedomlovindude - Thank you sir! Well, as difficult as it is for me to leave some of these comments up, I must stay true to my word about honoring everyone's point of view (especially one of the more recent comments!).

  • @freedomlovindude - I agree with you 100% +, however I have made a commitment to respect the opinions of others weighing in on the discussion. While I may be diametrically opposed to their point of view they do have the right to responsibly express their opinion. After all that is the very thing why so many are serving courageously at home and overseas. Least we forget that principle, and that, that right of free speech is one of the very thing that sets us apart from other countries.

  • Do some of the comments get my hackles up . . . absolutely. However, I did promise to myself to leave comments up as long as they are respectfully framed.

    Thank you for the support!

  • what about all the innocent CIVLIANS you have killed in AFGHANISTAN? IRAQ? SYRIA? EGYPT? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR??? OH! THAT'S RIGHT, SHOOT FIRST AND THEN ASK QUESTIONS - SIGNING OUT (VETERAN). TELL THAT BULLSHIT TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT CANNOT THINK FOR THEMSELVES, BUT DON'T PULL THAT NONSENS WITH ME (YOU CAN'T BULLSHIT SOMEONE THAT HAS BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT!!!)

  • been in a military family since i was 1 ,and im going to join the CF when i turn 17 . and its a lot like that here in Canada . the government is old men sending young men to die for them .

  • The sad thing is, being in the medical military field, you would be SHOCKED at how many active military (medical) voted for Hussein. I even had one stating after he won the election that she can now keep on going to school and not worry about deploying now that he is in charge. Truly sad...

  • Doc, if you would, please read the book WAR IS A RACKET by Major Gen. Smedley Butler... It will give you a little more insight on how the world really works. Butler was in the U.S. Marine Corps, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. He will tell you that the military works for Wall Street and the president runs nothing... After you read it, then let us know what you thoughts are and how you feel, not about a president, but about international banksters. Thanks.

  • @TruthWarriorFilms - Will do . . . however, I will likely still feel very comfortable speaking out for the troops . . . after all the are the ones at the end of the line doing the work. What constitutes the line is of course an interesting discussion as well. I think I may not be as naive as you may think ;-)

  • that was hardly a rant :o) and i agree 100% i haven't been active duty since 91...a large portion of my friends are...the president recinded anexecutive order put in place by Reagan to ensure the military would get paid in the case of a gov't shutdown...obama decided to use it as a bargaining chip to get what he wanted from this budget issue..it's deplorable

  • @savvy777333 - I will leave this comment up despite the fact that I find your insight misinformed and disrespectful. On behalf of those serving our country you are welcome for your freedom of speech.

  • @USNERDOC ,

Your freedom? Do you even know about the U.S. Constitution/ Who wrote it? and who it applies to? (here is a hint: CONGRESS). Stay in the military and use your G.I.Bill to get educated!!!!!! you guys use that lame "freedom of speech, when you have no valid reason." Try exercising your freedom of speech while being in the military!!

  • GOD BLESS (Y)OUR TROOPS!!!!!!!!!

  • Thats the calmest rant on YouTube! Thanks for sharing.

  • I haven't trusted politicians since I was in during the Nam. They have not given me any reason to begin trusting them again. This current crop is certainly the worst I've see since then! That goes for the "media" types, too.

  • Thank you, Doc! My son can now sleep tonight..no longer having to worry how he will pay his bills and feed his family next week! One of his soldiers got caught in a pay SNAFU and she only had $150 to live on and feed her family of 5 with until months end! They should NOT have had to go through this mental agony. I just wish the politicians could have come up something better than ANOTHER "Band Aid" solution! We DESPERATELY need some leadership in Washington!!!!

  • if the Republicans truly cared for the troops, why did they attach strings to the bill?

  • I understand that some fellas will say it is Congress, while others point to the president. Currently, it is a package deal that is sold to us and it is a loss. The lack of leadership at this country's top end has been faltering for some time, and it is not getting better. Do I have any fixes? No, but the nation did not entrust me to provide them. Maybe there is one thing, term limits for all, so decisions can be made without re-election being the basis. Thanks for speaking out DOC.

  • Right on brother! People that never served or never had family that served won't get it, and never will.

  • Another Obama family vacation while govt shutdown looms.. Look up "UPDATE: FAA sets up no-fly zone for Obama's planned trip to Williamsburg". See; "Is Michelle Planning Some Pricey Shopping in Williamsburg"?

  • Back from work, as it stands today the military members will be paid for work up to april 8th... After that is a big ?? Still. DFAS payees already have an les showing this so I've heard. Coast Guard *I work pay for them* is in the midst of programming a shortened pay period for all members. POsting this in case anyone is wondering if this is real or sky-falling rhetoric.

  • Obama is playing a game trying to get even with Republicans by doing what he is doing. He has done so much harm to this country.

  • This pisses me off as well. However, as I understand it most of the credit unions at military bases have already agreed to cover the difference in pay for their military members using "SurePay" (i.e. direct deposit) with a 0% interest rate. USAA, the largest bank for military members, has agreed to work with those affected "as necessary". The Dems may think they are holding the Military hostage. They are WRONG! They'll find out in the first week that this tactic will not work!

  • Wonder how many transports are gonna be leaving bagdad ? This could be our moment America. I will gladly give a portion of my check to pay our military, if they can come home. So we can take down the tyrants and criminals that have taken over our country.

  • That man won't pay the troops but he'll fly to Hawaii to golf. Not like hes done anything for this country. Change? yep thats all I got left the only change is no one can pay there bills and are out of work. The millitary pertects our country and they disereve pay its the least we can do for those who give it all

  • @machinegun911 Want to hear scary... Play his chant "Yes We can" backwards. Listen to what it says very plainly. Then think about the crowds of people that chanted this over and over. Invoking.

  • I personally agree with the US cutting military spending by a significant amount. However, that cut should come as a cut to scope first (less wars, less commitments, etc) only then a cut to spending. Wind it down to about half over the next 10 years or so with a focus on defending US soil and citizens and maintaining long range strike capability via the Navy and newer tactical nukes.

Return Americans full 2amd rights and your armed population will be a major deterrent to foreign invaders.

  • He is no friend to any of us

  • As an Active Duty Service Member Of the US ARMY, A mother of 3 children and a Military Wife of a husband currently in Korea I just wanted to say thank you for all of your support ... it means the world to me and my family

  • I heard on CNN that the U.S government shut down will not pay for military funerals during the time. Now that is ridiculous,i can't believe what i heard today about that, the U.S government obviously does not give 2 shits about it's own citizens and soldiers, what a disgrace..Americans have to put up with all of that and than some from the international community, yet americans are a friendly bunch, seems everywhere even in their own country americans are treated like crap! it's wrong..

  • AMEN DOC!!!!!

  • Maybe my understand of the situation is blurred, but I don't believe Obama is the problem. Its the legislature. While I fully agree with your position and disgust with the current government actions, I believe your "rant" is misdirected is all.

  • @MackyMatt - Thank you for your input. I may be misdirected, or you may be misunderstanding my sentiment. Either way both rest on my shoulders. Let me clarify by saying I know this is an issue with the legislature. However, I do think the Commander in Chief could exercise some leadership by reassuring our active duty military and their families. My point is that the military should not be on the table . . . simple enough.

  • @MackyMatt Obama personally said that he would veto any bill that would pay our troops during a shutdown. obam is a huge problem!

  • @honda622 Where and when did he say that ? The Repugnantcans are trying to add policy changes to the bill that have nothing to do with the budget. You want to blame someone, go see Boehner the Orange and Kanter the Mean. On that note, how about spreading the blame to ALL of Congress, since there's really no REAL difference between Repugnantcans and Demicraps.

  • @MackyMatt Agreed.

  • God Bless you

  • Today's headline: "GOP Rep. Allen West suggests Republicans are "using" troops" and Rep West is NO FAN of Obama. So this is clearly showing that the Prez is not the issue here... it's CONGRESS. If you take aim at the wrong enemy, you will definitely not win the battle.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 - Again, I respect your view point and fully understand your agenda. You are missing the point . . . THE MILITARY SHOULD NOT BE ON THE TABLE. Excuse me for shouting. I will not be sucked into your particular agenda or point of view, nor will you be successful in changing my mind. The sole purpose of this video has to do with my SUPPORT of the military. My sights are clear and I have not taken aim in the wrong direction. Again, thank you for your input.

  • @USNERDOC "THE MILITARY SHOULD NOT BE ON THE TABLE" Excellent point. I agree. Lots of things shouldn't be on the table. Blaming the President however makes about as much sense as blaming your Governor - because they can't LEGALLY do anything about it and so far no one here has suggested a legal way to do something about it. That's telling. Please don't claim I have an agenda. My point is pick the right target for your complaint. I'm not arguing with your complaint.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 - Understood. However, my Governor is not the Commander in Chief. I also know the President can't do anything LEGALLY about it. He can however speak out and reassure the military and their families that they will not be at risk while on his watch. He has in fact come out with the opposite statement: "I'll veto funding for the troops". That is what disturbs me and causes great concern.

  • I agree with you 1000% Doc. Btw your video wasn't a rant it was just an American voicing his opinion. I should make a vid when I'm really pissed to show ya what a rant is like. lol Take Care.

    Ruger22Rambo

  • our personal political view really shouldnt have anything to do with paying the guys that make all we have possable. Pay people for doing there job plain and simple it is kinda odd that the goverment over here can tell the guys taking bullets thousands of miles away that they are not going to get paid but you still have to work. How many of us would put up with that from our employeers I know I would tell them to stuff it.

  • @paranormalservices - "our personal political view really shouldnt have anything to do with paying the guys that make all we have possable." Well said . . . I think you got the point of the video ;-)

  • @USNERDOC hahaha sorry Doc..didn't mean to push your buttons....just telling it like it is.....what do you think those service men are going to do when those checks stop?...i think the leaders will find that these "pawns" are in fact not complacent sheep ready for sacrifice but, indeed the killers they were trained to be..would you wave your finger in the lions face?...i wouldn't...i suspect the foreigners they have sicked their military on will be paying the price..who follows orders w/o pay?.

  • @MARTIALLAWLESS - you will have to work a lot harder to push my buttons. Just to clarify, I am not in any way, unlike you, making a statement regarding the justification of any military engagement. I am only speaking to the issue of paying our active duty service members and not using their pay as a negotiation item.

  • Now to answer your question: "what do you think those service men are going to do when those checks stop?" I believe they will continue to serve our country with courage and valorv . . . but I think you already knew that answer.

  • sorry Doc...they don't care anymore about the service men than they do us...the service men were always pawns...thats way they send them into war for resources....calling it a "police action" or " intervention" doesn't make it any less of a war...i have read that congress has the power...when did congress green light these wars?...congress has no more power than the president....all mentioned work for their corporate contributors and would have us believe they are working for us.....sorry...

  • @MARTIALLAWLESS - "they don't care anymore about the service men than they do us" . . . well that comment does indeed cut to the very heart of the matter. One of the problems indeed is that they have agendas that do not truly reflect the people's business. Now you will get me going . . . !

  • Well, if that is indeed the case then I agree. I know from experience how difficult it is to be in the service in both garrison and deployed. But I still think the whole crew in WA is to blame - Democrat and Republican. They are all complicit in this mess. If congress was also effected by the shutdown - no pay, no travel - you'd hear a different tune! That is as far as I am wading into this hornets nest you opened. ;-)

  • @GeoN0JRJ - "If congress was also effected by the shutdown - no pay, no travel - you'd hear a different tune!" Well said sir! Thank you for your service to our country.

  • @GeoN0JRJ - "If congress was also effected by the shutdown - no pay, no travel - you'd hear a different tune!" Well said sir! Thank you for your service to our country.

  • As far as I understand, Military will not be effected by the shutdown. If they are then that does suck. I say that a a veteran. As far as politicians? I believe they are mostly crooks on both sides of the isle. I have traveled all over the world. Regular people are mostly the same; kind, loving, and just want to earn a good wage. It is the governments of the world that always sirs up the crap. You, my friend still have a right to your opinion - at least in this country, and at this time.

  • @GeoN0JRJ - I think you should check the news . . . there is still a threat that military pay is at risk. Bottom line is this should never be on the table . . . our active duty will still be doing their job, many in harm's way, with disruption in their pay while our politicians will continue to get paid.

  • Sorry but it's kind of funny if you thought he was a friend of the military before XD

  • @Atreid3s - I recognize the humor . . . I never thought he was a friend of the military before . . . now it is very clear. I won't bore you with my personal thoughts every time I see him boarding Marine 1 or AIr Force 1.

Interesting that members of Congress and the President will continue to get paid.

  • @USNERDOC

Yes, and the trough lappers will still receive their welfare checks as well.

  • So what am gathering here is that you're blaming Obama for the shut down? I mean, last I heard on CNN not...4 minutes ago, is that the Republicans want to shut down the govt because they can't get along with the democrats on a good budget. So because congress can't work together, its all Obama's fault? You make it seem like it is Obama who is shutting down the govt. He is the president, congress holds power, take your complaints to congress for what they are doing, you voted them in.

  • @MrOFoxy - I think you are bring your own political agenda to the comment section of a video directed at maintaining funding of military pay to those on active duty serving in harm's way while our government struggles with a spending bill. I made no comment referencing blame of the pending shut down on President Obama.

  • I was merely stating that this would be an opportune time for him to exercise leadership as the Commander in Chief and reassure those on active duty military, and their families, that their paychecks would not be at risk or used as a negotiating chip while on his watch. As I have stated before, I recognize that Congress holds the power for passing the spending bill. However, President Obama is not without his own influence and his leadership is critical.

  • Bottom line is our active duty military pay should not be on the table.

    Thank you for you input.

  • Good morming Doc...Thanks for the med. kit that I won at Sootchs gathering last Saturday...Thanks for the support of fellow preppers...God bless...

  • respect what rly??????????????? my bf is over there this is wrong !!!!!! they sure in the ehll shuld be paying someone who is risking their lives to keep us free, if they arnt well the hell with them staying on active duty they shuld pull the whole company out or unit its ridonculous...i say they aint payin them enough

  • The military knows whose at fault here and it's not Obama.

  • Congress is not listening to the people and this President is doing nothing but making us week as a Nation. The alarm is going off here we need to shut it off vote all of them out there turn is over.

  • Two minutes isn't a rant lol

  • Well said sir.

  • just another reason why we prep, not paying our military, but entitlements and gov officials will get paid.

  • Both "sides" are just playing the "blame game" with the budget. This kind of feces will continue until "We the People" realize that this two party system, we've allowed ourselves to be suckered into, is not the ONLY way to elect officials. Republicans are not always right and Democrats are not always right, but there are people who will stand behind their "party" no matter how stupid the agenda.

Active military personnel should not be paying for governmental stupidity. Politicians should be.

  • Former Air Force Sargent here and I am with you on this. It is shameful what is going on in Washington. Congress' failure to pass a budget and a pending government shutdown is inexcusable and everyone them should be fired and have there government pensions revoked.

  • I couldn't agree more! It's really stinky business, what's going on here. The party politics two-step......The blame game ensues and of all people to drag under...they use our military service people. It is indeed disgraceful!

    Well said!!

  • As the dad of two children, both currently serving in the US military let me first say thank you for your words and your service. A commander-in-chief fails and makes a clear statement of how much he values those who serve and sacrifice when he allows our military to be considered "non essential". He could be standing up for our military but he is not. That paychecks could be held for those who serve is inconceivable, except with this president. That speaks volumes and we should be listening.

  • Obama is worthless. He and his administration are the enemy within our ranks.

  • well done Doc! Thanks for sharing!!

  • i think all the money that shit footballers get payed to kick a ball round a field should go to the soldires fighting and navy and airforce etc

    kind regards

  • When I was in the military President Clinton let this happen as well and we didn't get paid. Obviously no lessons have been learned since then from the current administration.

  • The simple fact is that this situation should not be occurring and had the "president" done his job last October when this budget was due, then none of this would be an issue. This is typical Democrat M.O. these days...never let a good crisis go to waste. After the ass kicking they took in November, they decided to NOT create and pass a budget, but to wait until the Repubs took the house, create all this mess and blame it on the right. It's all a political charade and servicemen will lose.

  • I work military payroll, prior service, heading to the last day of work in 20 some minutes. THEY HAVE FUNDED payroll. They are just telling the people that do the work to get that money out that they are non-essential. I bet there won't be some rant to keep the 'lazy' civilians on youtube anywhere. Just my thought doc.

  • The military should never and I mean never ever be placed in a position of being a pawn in the running or not running of our country. Pay our men and woman in uniform what they are due. I so agree with you Doc on this matter. My son is currently in the Navy. My wife and I are both retired Navy. If my pay stops I can always work My son in currently some where under the Atlantic Ocean ,he can't get a part time job to help while he is not getting paid.

  • It's just a typical liberal scare tactic like "children will starve to death and old people will die in the streets." Just look at Pelosi's statements in the last few days as an example. It was my understanding that ALL of the Constitutionally mandated functions of government continue to operate. It's all the entitlement and regulatory stuff that shuts down. If Obama quits paying the military then the blame rests squarely on his narrow shoulders and pointed head.

  • Oh and dont forget hes not even American I went to the court house and got a copy of my birth certificate took 10 mins and 15 dollars why would he spend 2 mill to hide his?????????? - schmoo -

  • Just watched my brother in-law leave for Afghanistan wednesday. He left behind a wife and two kids now she has to deal with this on her own..... What is wrong with this picture? I kills me just thinking that he and his family will not be paid for his hard work. Out of all of this the ones who work the hardest will be pushed aside and not even worried about. My heart goes out to all the families who have loved ones fighting for my freedoms. I'm sorry and I hope and pray that all of this will pass

  • agreed thank you sir

  • Any President who promises to bring soldiers home and then not only continues to send more over seas, but continues to get involved in more and more conflicts risking the lives of human being as if they're toys for him to play with is not a friend to the soldiers and is also a tyrant and traitor to this country and the Constitution.

  • I always watch your videos for the gear reviews. I could not agree more with you!

  • Comment removed

  • very well said. I thank you for puting this out there.

  • My heart is with you americans who are in uniform and who are not,I'm not even american..

  • Unsubscribed.

  • @EmpathyWorks a little thin skined.

  • @EmpathyWorks = I unsubed you from mine for you. - schmoo -

  • Well said, Doc. Amen.

  • Lolz Obama knows nothing he is just a tool :) Forget him.

  • I understand the president & family are going to vacation in Williams burg this weekend.

If the gov. shuts down, will that park not be closed as well?

  • Hey DOC ! NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE , THESE ARE YOUR FEELINGS ,AND YOU ARE LETTING THEM KNOW ! I BELIEVE YOU HAVE (EARNED) THE (RIGHT) TO DO SO ! YOU ARE NOT ALONE !!!! DONT FORGET IT ! I PERSONALLY FEEL....... I enjoy your channel and do (NOT) want to be blocked so I will leave it at that !! Much respect , STAY ALERT,STAY ALIVE,STAY SAFE !!!OUT!!!

  • I give you a "Thumbs Up" even though you disabled it.

  • I'm a GM2 in the US Navy. Hearing a thank you is worth more than any pay I could receive.

  • As a quiet observer of your vids, I love them. As a Retired member of the US Armed Forces, I feel that they are doing their job and should be paid. It is Congress that is not doing their job.Our military personnel should never be questioned, as they are doing what they are directed to do. It is our congress that should be questioned, are they really doing what we elected them to do? I think not. Our leadership should be fired as the most incompetent bunch ever elected.

  • Doc,

That's the most well reasoned level headed "rant" I've ever heard. Being a moderate I find that when gunnies or preppers I subscribe to talk politics I shouldn't listen as it makes me lose respect for them.

This isn't the case with you. You very rationally made your case, explained your frustration, and suggested a solution. This may not be a black and white issue, but you're 100% correct, the military shouldn't be hostages in the budget battle. This vid only adds to my high opinion of you

  • This is a symptom of policing the world! The real underlying issue is our foreign policy bankrupting us fiscally, and morally. "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.." What did the D's and R's think a Welfare-Warfare state was cheap!?

  • OBAMA IS A PIECE OF SHIT WHEN HE WENT TO IRAQ BEFORE HE WAS PRESIDENT HE NEVER ONCE SHOOK ANY AMERICAN SOLDIERS HANDS HE JUST DOESNT GIVE A SHIT TO ME HE IS NOT AN AMERICAN.OBAMA IS A SOCIALIST MUSLIM PIG!!!!!!!!

  • Doc, feel the weight of your words. Thanks for speaking for those that cannot. Respect 1Step, a neighbor just down the road ... but am having trouble keeping in check, what for me, is just shy of an outrage. BoonieCap101 speaks the words that those in the military feel - especially those of us bringing folks home from the Libyan effort. Many thanks for your sincerity & emotion of the subject. Wish you continued success.

  • It bull that someone would even think of and or even agree to something like that...The people who rick there live for us and or who serves for us and say we aint going to pay yall... How about the BIG shots take a pay cut cuz it looks like they aint helping anything..

  • As always great video.

  • As far as I am aware, the military will not be impacted by the shutdown. The only inconvenience maybe with the delayed checks that the military personnel could get, but even that will be very short (hypothetically speaking). Retroactive pay will be assessed towards most gov't employees anyhow. I really don't understand why the Pres has to be at fault when it's clearly Congress's responsibility.

  • Thank you for posting this, thank you for your service, Doc!

The political buggery in Washington is a disgrace, we ask our children to serve & die for us and we treat them like disposable assets. I blame the whole corrupt political machine, the last vote we didn't clean out enough. I will contact my reps to complain, what good it will do we will have to see.

God bless and protect our troops, God save the Republic...

  • Good luck on the AMP kits. I too wish for the best outcome for our armed forces and their families - that's one thing I'll always agree with! 73's from KC8UBL in Detroit.

  • Yep, this is a shameful mess. Mr. Obama has never had a real job, let alone done something as useful and patriotic as being a servicemember. He has no idea how the average American lives and struggles to pay the bills... let alone what it's like to be deployed to a war zone. Sad times...

  • Great talking to you again David! It has indeed been too long. However, I've been a silent observer and enjoy your channel very much. Good luck on the Am

  • @1StepTooFar - I gather great comfort knowing you are a silent observer . . . always good to hear from you!

  • That was probably the nicest, most polite rant I've ever witnessed. Well done staying civil while being outraged, usnerdoc, well done.

  • Are you sure that you have this correct? This is the first I heard that military would not be paid during a partial government shut-down.

  • I'm with on this one Dave. Both my late uncle, grandfather and dad were all in the military, my dad and Uncle both in the Navy, my grandfather in the Army. I often why these things happen and why people can't seem to make a simple decision in Washington?

But, I ain't happy with this round either. Like you said, it was a disgrace - you bet it is and I agree & no commander-in-chief should ever let his troopers go without pay either, they fight hard and protect out country for their sacrifice.

  • Well Said Sir!!!

  • Lars Larsen in speaking with a congress person(on the radio), eve, that the military was already done today, they are fully funded for the next year now. politics is a game and the ones playing it are using the people as pawns, left right, class warfare, it is all to divide and that we are, now, not united but divided and the bible says a house divided against itself shall not stand. leaders that do this form of politics are spiritually wicked ness in high places, imo. they forget GD & gentlemen

  • You are a patriot and a gentleman. Well said.

  • come on Doc I am on your side but, it is not that black and white. If your going to point fingers the finger shout be pointed at everyone on capital hill. no one, neither on the right or the left should get a pass.I understad your argument about leadership but they (the House) are not in the military and do not have to follow orders.

  • @ramtron1775 - trust me, I don't think anyone should get a pass and I do not think things are simple or black and white . . . things are very complex with many subtleties. My sole point was a plea for our service members, and the American public, to be threatened with holding military paychecks pending a budget.

  • In my opinion, there is no reason for that to even be on the table or mentioned. I felt this would be a good time for the Commander in Chief to square up and reassure military families that they were not at risk. His voice on this matter would be significant to say the least. Hopefully this dialog is all for naught.

  • @USNERDOC yeah but, he cant reassure the families and military members that they are not at risk because he alone cannot approve the budget. it takes a vote from the house as well. its a shame but both sides of government are holding numerous groups hostage over the budget impasse, most importantly the military and their families.

  • Thank You David, My son just got done serving in Afghanistan and is back at his duty station only because of an injuring and is now blind in one of his eyes he has contacted me with concerns about his pay he has a wife and a newborn at home that need supporting and it isn't enough he has to deal with the injury but now he might not get paid. It's shameful to think that would even have to a concern for him just shameful I say.....

  • I agree with lostend1 on this. The blame rests with the House not the President. Doc I agree that we should contact our congressmen and women so they can represent our opinions. But please don't point fingers at our President when the budget is Congress's responsibility as per our Constitution. It's our elected officials in congress that you should be mad at.

  • @1StepTooFar - Wow! Long time my friend . . . good to have you weigh in. I do understand where the blame lie. My point was that the President can still exercise leadership and weigh in on behalf of the very men and women that he sends into harm's way. The budget is Congress' responsibility, that doesn't mean the President has no voice, role or influence. Be safe my friend!

  • @USNERDOC Agreed, and as I said in my response to 1StepTooFar the president wants a shutdown to occur to boost his ratings as a shutdown did for Clinton in the '90's.

  • @1StepTooFar You are correct, however keep in mind two things: 1. The democrat spending agenda comes right from The White House. 2. In the most cynically political sense of this, a government shutdown is in the president's best interests. Those of us that were alive and paying attention at the time may recall the government shutdown under the Clinton administration after which president Clinton's approval ratings went up and republicans went down. Just my .02.

  • So if the government shuts down, do the people that can't decide on the budget get suspended pay too?

  • your a dumbass

  • it absolutely appalls me that our country's government, or ANY part of it, would even consider not paying the men and women that are voluntarily laying down their lives. to think that some of my brothers WILL DIE during a period where they are receiving NO PAY from their country sickens me to my stomach. to punish those that serve for previous political mistakes is absurd and borders the lines of treason.

  • I really appreciate your channel and have enjoyed many of your videos. However, you should think things out first before posting uninformed, self proclaimed rants and risk turning off viewers. I'm not here to defend President Obama but the reason the government is at risk of being shut down is that the Republican congress, under the influence of the Tea party, is unwilling to vote for a budget that involves an admittedly high level of borrowing to pay for... among other things the military!

  • Well said USNERDOC. I think a lots of us feel the same way. The antics of the current administration are inexcusable. For those who are or have been in the armed forces, thank you for what you do and have done to keep this great nation free and safe.

  • This is a very unfortunate position for the President to take. Paramount among his duties as President and Commander in Chief, is the defense of our nation. Politicizing the issue at the expense of our fighting men and women and their families is shameful. When his own Democrat Congress had no budget at all for two years, it is particularly troubling that he cannot work with the Congress elected by the people. Of terrible note is the fact that he and the Congress WILL get paid during a shutdown.
