  • I love the show and would like to see it again !!

  • the best version is with Crawford (not with Banderas who cannot sing)

  • Did they ever filmed the original production? I had always thought that if they had a recording and a songbook filled with photographs of it, they would have it in film too, just like Les Miserables.

Any details about itwould be nice. Thanks. :)

  • My phavorite cast :)

  • Haha. I first learned about this in 2004, when the movie came out, and then I saw it on Broadway, and from then I just HAD to see every single movie of it ever made, and I've read the book tons of times. I love the Phantom so much!!!!

  • i am 12 years old. i have been a huge Phan since i was 6. this is the first version i have heard, and this was my favorite song from it. i have seen many versions of phantom, but this is the only true one, to me.however, i will confess...i have never seen the stage version. i wish i could. i would be happy forever.

  • @chiara1099

In one of my earlier comments, I did share that what I say is my conviction on the subject.

  • My fav is Sierra Boggess...But Gina Bell is also good...

  • I remember listening to the soundtrack after my parents went to see the play in 1994

  • i think live in Vienna version is better

  • @eddiewong19921

    YOU'RE SO RIGHT....

THE VIENNA CHRISTINE REALLY TRIBUTED SARAH BRIGHTMAN, IN SUCH AN AMAZING WAY.....VIENNA'S CHRISTINE, IS TRULY MY FAVORITE...

  • @grendle7 This IS an epic song, but yelling about it isn't nessesary. :)

  • @MrsShanonBrown

I feel that expression is necessary, and if I have to CAPS LOCK every word; to get ma Trollality on; then so be it!

  • I have other things to do but I just needed to listen to Michael Crawford's voice. Awesome!!

  • I was able to drop in at the show and first heard this song, the actors on stage at the Orpheum/San fran were in the gondola and I thought to myself, This is the most classiest show I have ever seen and I was right.. A true classic in itself, and I was lucky to have seen the show. Thanks for sharing this posting too!

  • best ever!!!

  • The two who disliked it will probably be visited by the phantom... and he will be holding rope... Just sayin'. This is epically fantastic and one of the most played songs on my iPod.

  • @TheKatHan101 or maby drop a chandelier on them.....>=3

  • @pepe10282002 Lol or hold them hostage... in the torcher chamber... (if you've read the book)

  • the best show was the one in the 80s with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman man what a show to this day i still have memories. Awesome show

  • just a small correction, the title is wrong. There is no OBC of POTO. This would be the OLC made in 1986.

  • i like this version a lot, but i think the movie christine (emmy rossum) has a better, clearer voice than sarah brightman and a more innocent look to her. but both are amazing of course :)

  • Супер!Я ежедневно слушаю эту музыку в разных исполнениях.Я полщена!

  • Бравоооо!Я обажаю Эту Оперу с большой буквой.

  • Beautiful. And one thing I love about this version: IT HAS THE FOURTH VERSE! I got a piano book with a bunch of Phantom of the Opera songs for my birthday last year, and it included the "In all your fantasies" verse, which I had never heard before. I think it's a cool verse...

  • @majetteduncan It's only not included in the movie version. In any other version, you will find it's included.

  • @lilsisasu Well, there was one other version that only had the first and third verse...I forget what the version was called though. But I think it was the techno...

  • @majetteduncan Still, it's in most versions.

  • I LOVED seeing my school production of this! One of our best musicals we've EVER done.

  • Why is it so difficult to find lower baritones singing The Phantom rather than tenors? D:

  • @Sedraen It's not hard to find a baritone at all. The part of the Phantom is written for a tenor.

  • @thephantom1946 I know it's written for tenor, but I'm going to be honest: It doesn't fit. At least, not as well as a powerful baritone. I just can't find a lot of recordings of one singing his role. If there were -none-, that would be understandable, but there are just enough bad ones to let me know that people -do- it.

  • @Sedraen couldnt agree more. a crazy good baritone could play the phantom so much better (in my opinion)

  • Michael Crawford is the best phantom

  • Phantom of The Opera and Les Miserables are my two favorite musicals. The music is very powerful in both.

  • @michellekwan483 Can't forget Miss Saigon now can we :D Also I'd like to thank you for referring to them as musicals, NOT plays as about 90% of commenters on youtube call them.

  • i jst cant stop watching it....awesome

  • while Sarah & Michael were all in the Original Broadway cast the recording this is from is the Original London Cast. (the only other english cast recording I am aware of is the Canadian cast highlights album)

  • @disneydanny2 Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford are the original London cast. Andrew wrote "Phantom of The Opera" for Sarah, she's the original Christine and Michael is the original Phantom.

  • @disneydanny2 It's them singing. They were in the original POTO in London and they're the ones who carried it over here to Broadway. Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote the role of Christine specifically for his wife, Sarah, & he chose Michael because he had overhead him singing (Michael had the same singing teacher that Sarah did).

  • the play is by far soooo much better than the movie. It was so emotional both me and my mom cried at the end.

  • @eyemakeupfrenzy I know!! Sarah and Michael are amazing!! The best Phantom and Christine ever!!

  • @eyemakeupfrenzy

I so agree with you!!!! the movie didnt capture what the musical brought..the actors had poor chemistry ...the emotional element in the musical was more intense!

  • @eyemakeupfrenzy Are you talking about the Joel Shumacher Phantom of the Opera movie, starring Gerand Butler as The Phantom?

  • This is the best musical ever!! I love it!!

  • the original chsristine daae

  • bravo ok

  • she kind of scooped on that last note, but at least she hit it. I am in love with high notes. High five 1st sopranos!!!!! if anyone wants to hear some super high notes, look up the queen of the night aria by mozart!

  • Me tooo

  • ugh I cant belive nobody has comented on this yet . omg i love this version of this song. it may be old but it is by far the Best : D. Thank you for posting this up : ) Great pictures 5 *****

  • @russianpartychick rather have it up, people watch and appreciate it than various people comment and leave idiotic comments. I just got back in MD from seeing it at the Majestic in NYC earlier today. Please tell me you've seen it in person at the Majestic on 44th st. in NYC. You MUST make the trip and see it.

  • @russianpartychick agree with you 100%. best version of the song:D
