  • JASON! JAAASSSOOOON! (Heavy Rain video game reference)

  • you can see the tree falling onto the lines behind him...

  • I love the 4th state of energy :D

  • Just think if they were on the other side of the road doing the news story.

  • Chuck Norris has just unplugged his beard trimmer!

  • man is the real worker, golden arms, good man

i think, he looks like Kiedis of RHCP or Hatfield of M'talika here

  • Jason, watch the fuck out man!

  • That guy probably shit himself!

  • That guy, and the news crew probably shit themselves.

  • its harry potter

  • Looked like the current in the cable made an arc with the snow on the trees lol.

  • WATCH OUT JASON!

  • The exact same thing happened right near me when I was walking my dog yesterday. Apparently the tree had been tilted slightly for a while already but the winds from Hurricane Irene (I live in NC) did it in. It actually fell after the winds had died down which was the weirdest part. But it was extremely loud, just like a bomb had gone off.

  • 0:21 Kugelblitz XD

  • A la Mierda...que susto conchesssu...

  • Did Jason shit his bunkers ? Not that you could blame him.

  • OH SHIT!!!

  • right place at the right time.

  • AWESOME CAMERA MAN ISNT PHASED!!!!!

  • Someone brings a clean underwear for the Walrus!

  • this type thing happened one time outside my house when i was outside and i saw a bolt strike my neighbors house. it was pretty cool after i stopped screaming

  • Electrical pole was offended by "shovelling their logs".

  • uh i live in tallahassee and once a tree fell on my power line and i saw that and went ten days without power

  • I didn't see the DeLorean though....

  • @hondabigredatc ROFL XD

  • HAARP

  • You know that guy shit his pants when that happened...

  • it's just one of chuck norris's matches

  • These electric buzzes sound like the Cybermens voices, in the sixties stories and very menacing in sound too.

  • electricity is gay

  • @iRouRoui Well then if it is so gay, Then why are you on Youtube using something so gay

  • @FoxyWolfProductionz I'm not using it, I'm using objects that are consuming it.

  • Luke... I'm your father...

  • whatever it is thats making the image distort cant be falling snow

its moving out to the sides

    not falling

  • @coltsrule5150 I thought that when I first watched. But it's the tree branch. As pagiel242 said, it had so much snow on it that the branch was hanging completely vertically downwards, so when it lost some of the snow, it started swinging back up and touched the lines.

  • @coltsrule5150 that may have been the branch that caused the fault

  • nah id have to say thats some kind of transparent bubble forming before the explosion

the human eye might not catch em

    doesnt mean a camera cant

  • I dont think the squirrel lived

  • "88 MILES AN HOURRRRRRRRRR!"-Doc Brown, Back to the Future

  • What a voice the electricity has!

  • Bet he wished he was wearing the Brown Underwear that day!

  • Marty Mcfly is trying to get back from 1955!!!

  • All these people convinced they see a "pre charge shock wave" are great examples on why conspiracy theories are almost always wrong. Your eyes constantly lie to you and are to be trusted far less than most authority.

  • you can see something move in the corner before it explodes

  • The terminators have arrived

  • @PETERTHEHALOPRO It's Delorean, dumb fuck. And it travels on the road and through the fabric of space and time. Fuckwit.

  • press 3 and you will see the magnetic field

  • @MIHBeatz the magnetic field is a tree branch -.-

  • "Somebody get Jason some fresh underwear!"

  • i think the Dalorian just passed through.

  • GOT SEI DANKE IN EUROPA DAS IST UNTERERDE!

  • thats when Thor showed up...

  • bet that scared the crap out of him

  • I know I know, it was Mr. Mine!!!!

  • unknown pokemon appeared and used spark.

  • WATCH OUT JASON !

  • believe it or not, this is in fact the proper way to time-travel

  • Why spokesmen should wear depends

  • Now that is what I call news.

  • An electricing experience ;)

  • oh my god

  • holy shit

  • Think those guys left a touch of do-do in their britches?!!

  • Several people died in that incident, but jason is alright

  • DUCK !

  • What was that about shoveling? Shoveling shit out of your pants?

  • I would have, no joke, shit my pants...

  • WATCH OUT JASON!

  • I work for an electric utility and that is a classic case of a "phase-to-phase" fault. You can see in the background that the snow fell off a branch that was heavily weighted down, then as it snapped back up it came in contact with at least two of the three phases (wires) causing a short. Transformers didn't explode, magnetic fields are invisible (unfortunately you can't see them build up, though that would be cool), just a simple high voltage fault (a.k.a. short circuit).

    Good times!

  • @pagiel242 Just a simple high voltage fault that could KILL SOMEONE!

  • @pagiel242 I was told that this line carried approximately 7,600 volts! The ball of fire directly behind was the size of a full size pickup and the heat on the back of my neck was so intense that it left a sunburn! I'm a little jumpy anyway, but this was quite a bag and it vibrated the ground! Pretty crazy and embarrassing! Since this footage, I have been interviewed, for a story, by MSNBC, Discovery Channel and now the Weather Channel is requesting an interview. Whatever!

  • @Jfmitchell2 - Just be glad it was only 7,600 volts! That's about as "low" as your standard "distribution" grade voltage gets! :) That fireball coulda been a lot bigger. Glad everyone was OK!

  • @pagiel242 Isn't it great how ignorant most people on youtube are

  • @pagiel242 Um I thought Transmition power lines like that were 2 phase. But I bet it melted the snow off the wires :)

  • @insylem Transmission lines are actually a whole different ball of wax - those were distribution lines. But to answer your pseudo-question, it gets transmitted and distributed in three phases almost always. You may be thinking of the "secondary" wire that goes to your house - those have two wires coiled around a braided metal wire, but those aren't different phases. They're different "legs". They come off the same phase (typically delinated as A, B, and C (or O) phases).

  • whatsup jason hahahahah

  • a real "oh shit " moment

  • týpek se směje "hahaha" a přitom měl naděláno v kalhotách.. :-D

  • wrong it was a weather ballon

  • Holy fuck.

  • the power line hates our news cast noooooo

75 people died in the making of this vid

  • you could see the magnetic field build right before the discharge verry cool

  • @jerrysjunk Oh i see it, thats pretty sick.

  • @jerrysjunk isn't that an electric field?

  • @jerrysjunk That thing on the top was actually a branch that fell and pressed down on the power line, causing the arching.

  • @jerrysjunk You can't see Magnetism Dousche Bag ... Go back to school

  • @Mart34 It does with that much power, it warps the air around it, not like a time warp though.

  • @jerrysjunk That was the above wire breaking of, and hitting another.. Not the magnetic field.

  • @StickerMedia Exactly! You can even hear someone saying "That thing just let go", and "I think it fell back.."

  • @jerrysjunk

...no you couldn't. It was probably a tree branch or the cable that had come loose which then caused the arc.

  • @jerrysjunk dude, i wouldn't have noticed if you didn't point that out. it looks intense - though its prbly just the first wavelengths emitted, which is what the camera made look like a shockwave

  • @johndoe528 it's the tree branches moving from the snow shifting

  • Time to go home and eat donkey penis.

  • Time to go home and change your underwear

  • I would have filled my pants with tee tee and bm.

  • I could've sworn I saw a question mark.

  • Is that the branch falling in the background right before the blast, or is it the space warping? Looks just like the high voltage moved the air around the powerlines then connected the voltage across the lines.

  • he is a frend of woodpecker?

  • if you look closely you can actually see the branch falling in the background! XD

  • @impp010 I saw it.

  • i know it's instinct but don't look at it.

  • alien gun !!!!

  • It was a miniature black hole materializing. Happens all the time just doesn't have massive voltage lines waiting like a land mine under its' 'feet.' Watch the area of the 'explosion' just before it blows. You'll see a slight temporal distortion. Miniature black holes, contrary to what the movies say, don't just grow up into big black holes sucking everything in space. They actually disappate and extinguish quite quickly and don't pose a great danger. Hawking talks about them.

  • @DireCrow haha no way

  • @DireCrow you get a thumbs down for inaccuracy. that was the tree branch falling and snow coming off.

  • theres only one explanation...storm from x-men and raiden getting it on in the bush!

  • Dude lol They are so lucky that with all of that snow the arch didnt complete to the ground or the camera or guy standing in front of it. They would have been crispy! Cool video, Love the color.

  • there is a PREDATOR on the wire 0:03

  • @PRIMUSxPRIME lmao

  • @PRIMUSxPRIME holy shit looks like it lmao

  • Respect for us phone men ,,,YES! I'v seen this many times, I live in Michigan.

  • now thats fucking time travel if i ever saw it

  • WOW powerball

  • Electricity has my eternal respect. it makes me sweat how nervous i get just from that jumping current sound. All because i didn't invest my time in life to study it to the fullest.

  • @testyvenom WOOT you go bro. I agree with joe on the morphing of the air

but I also agree with you. understood the tree limb causes the arc. BUT the air is morphing from pressure waves, the waves are actually formed by the sound thats happening from the arc. I only know this because I showed the video to my cousin. he is a college science nerd XD

he explained it to me and then did a miny experiment with a high speed camera and a mini-setup that he made for a project to show a constant arc

  • As for everyone that gave jgpbcjoe a thumbsup for that ridiculous comment, why the hell did you give him a thumbsup??? Honestly, it's sad enough that he was serious, but it wouldn't even be funny or clever in the slightest bit if it were a joke.

  • @testyvenom why do you care, epic fail

  • 0:10

    PRESS X FOR JASON!!!

  • THERE HE GOES, THE ELECTRO-GYPSY~!

  • @testyvenom Ok? I've got better things to than explain basic physics to people who would rather 'feel' smart than to shut up, admit they don't know everything, and actually learn something. I'm sorry I posted any comment in the first place. I'll know better next time. So, respond all you want but your time WILL be wasted cause I will not be reading them

  • @jgpbcjoe As I expected, you replied to my childish taunt with a childish response. I really know how to spot people like you. ;) Also, you did not do anything to help your case by using your "understanding" of physics. To keep things simple, your explanation does not support your first comment that I replied to. What I stated in my first comment about the tree limb is even stated as a fact in the video description. I'm sorry that I made you look like an #$%.

  • @testyvenom once and for all, so people can keep their "clever" insults to themselves. For all of you who are either blind and "physics experts" out there I'm going to explain this slowly. The air around the transformer was cold until it blew, in turn heating the air around it creating heat distortion. Ok, you with me chillins? Like when the air distorts around a fire. Got it? In case your Still confused? Take a look at an 8th grade science book

  • 0:03-0:05 watch above his head you see the pressure wave previous to the arc

  • Virus has been decteded call mcafee!

  • Yeah, I'd shit my pants too.

  • Terminator is coming!!!

    run like hell!!

  • @leogatobhzte

Terminator hit the electrical line :D no more Terminator :D

  • jamie hynemans telephatical powers

  • @diablikmick lol. if you look realllly closely (closelier) you can see his beard materialise right after the ark

  • alien energy attack from outer space ?

  • Dude everyone knows aliens don't use portals, they use wormholes to travel inter-stellar space.

Only Mister Mxyzptlk from the 5th dimension uses portals.

  • damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha

  • Damn!!

  • @MrBioluminescence its a tree branch look closer u can see it the wind blows a tree branch to it and u know snow is water so big flash :D

  • The air didn't morph, that was the branch of a tree falling onto the line, that's what caused the accident.

  • EPIC noise, thats why electrical explosions are the best

  • right place & time for a interview, glad nobody was hurt.

  • holy fuck O_O

  • wow that got me

  • Damn, you actually can see the air above his head warp before the strike happens.

  • @ThriceDice woah.... fucking trippy lol

  • my but stinks...

  • steps out of car

    Marty: Were are we Doc?

Doc: Were in the future Marty

  • thats the same reaction when chuck norris sneezes

  • Lol "today people are a medical emergencey, they are shoveling out their watts" thats what it sounded like before it went ZAP

  • @godofmajora walks*.... aka, paths

  • looks like a squirrel ran along burned and fell off to the ground on fire lol

  • IT'S OVER 9000!

  • raygun prototype was a success

  • STRIDER!!!!

  • Fuck!another terminator... xD

  • PIKACHU USED THUNDER BOLT!

    THE ATTACK MISSED!

  • ther was an icestorm befor that or ?

  • It hit 88 MPH!!!!!!!

  • the gaydar was plugged into a power socket as soon as he started talkin.

  • Mcfly!!!!!

  • = )

  • I wanted my picture taken but the flash was way too BRIGHT! LOL....

  • Ouch ! Not a good idea to have overhead power lines in urban areas.

  • oh shit, the t-800 is back....

  • I was hoping his mustache would fall off

  • that made my day

  • I might be crazy but, I swear right before the arc you can see the area above the guys head morph. wild.

  • @jgpbcjoe wat does the mean?

  • @jgpbcjoe wow you really can!

  • @jgpbcjoe That's what you would call a twig.
