the game is kick ass, but you have to admit, the running stages dont look as good as the 360 or PS3, but thats because this game has a crapload of sause covering it with what may just make it the perfect Sonic game, and plus eggman has those fat orange robots again how awsome is that?

@MrPuppetBoy no it isn't it's a retro game with spruced up graphics because they no longer have the hardware/software restrictions that they had with sonic 1,2 and 3 and thus have no reason to put it back into 16 bit.... which actually makes perfect sense.
also i can't imagine the levels being that much different apart from a few extra, some new level names and maybe a save button...

Ive been following a few forums since the whole sonic 4 announcement, I know what SEGA HAVE, AND HAVE NOT Done.. Sonic 4 , imo does NOT live upto its name but yeah I will give it a chance, I hope that it is FUN to play from the final build..
I loved sonic adventure battle 2 but it did get annoying with the cutscenes and other characters breaking up play. This looks like the purest sonic experience of all 3d sonic games so far, cut away the pointless fat and you get a pure gaming experience. That's where mario galaxy went right compared to sunshine now I'm hoping colors does the same for sonic.
@uzimakishadow yep, the only reason I got a 360 is because it was cheaper and there were more players and more to do online than there was for Ps3. FPS are really the only things that makes 360 sell better. but the Wii pwns all systems :)

I like the wii. 2nd, I don't really care for FPS I just play them for fun, but I will always play Sonic to the Fullest over any other game cuz Sonic is the reason why I started playing games back in the Genesis Days. I always go back to the old skool games. I still play unleashed and I cant wait for Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic 4 to come out.
This isnt the full level... notice the GOAL RING at the end.. plus if you look right as he jumps off the rail there are robots past the goal ting.. i knew this level was too short ;D
Has anyone noticed theres a Goal Ring at the end of the level, instaed of the wisp capsule?, and homing attack detected something that looks like a egg pawn, maybe sega put it there to end the level, when actually there was more to the level
@whoolcat what rivalry? Hahaha sonic has been taking the back seat on mario's success for so long its embarrassing. So much, that they've released games in response to it. Tennis, racing, unleashed and this to the mario galaxies, and sonic 4 in response to the huge success of super mario bros wii.

i don't like the concept of a candy stage - that seems more like mario kind of stuff. you know, a candy factory or something as a level ... sonic always had levels with themes that were halfway believable like a space station or forest.
i really would like them to finally remove the ranking system - the first sonic games didn't have them. not that i don't try to get a good rank sometimes myself, but it kinda puts you under pressure. sonic colors is the only game i am so looking forward to!

@DOSkywalkR I have never seen a candy stage in a Mario game. This theme is more like Kirby stuff, you know. But yeah, it's kinda childish for a Sonic game.
@galactamarx there were themes that were kind of like this in mario games. for example in mario land 2 on game boy and there was also some kind of candy factory in mario galaxy 1 as far as i remember. the theme fits more to mario anyway, that's what i was trying to say.
@crazytak3 because it is incredibly slow and horrible, it is a very, very bad attempt at an action platformer which is why it's horrible. On the 360 and PS3, you have to suffer even more because it has crap Medal collecting making you do the stupid werehog stages over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until you break the game disc.
@yoyoyo88665 I will agree with you on the whole medal collecting thing but the platforming didnt seem to bad for some levels like say holoska, apotos, and spagonia but thats just my opinion what you and others think is fine by me
@crazytak3 The werehog stages were extremely repetitive, but I would be TOTALLY fine if I just went through them ONCE. But the medal collecting ruined EVERYTHING, which is why I'm gonna buy the Wii version. Whoever thought of medal collecting needs to be permanently banned from being involved in games.

But the thing is, I can't handle doing a Werehog stage more than once, and the ps3 and 360 versions demand you to do them over and over and over and over and over again and it makes me want to break the disc :p
@yoyoyo88665 Im glad you asked. Reason #1 sonics boost isnt infinite regardless of getting rings. Reason #2 point and click hub worlds. Reason #3 two levels are removed. Reason #4 the werehog combat system is crap. Reason #5 all day time levels are notoriously short. If those reasons dont work then this has to, since you hate the werehog so much its fair to warn you that its not just one level, they are acts four at best. Ofcourse if you still want it thats ok I just gave you a heads up.
@crazytak3 hmmm.... I guess I'll have to make a decision in the end. The werehog was HORRIBLE in the 360 and ps3 versions, but it would be okay if I just had to go through those stages ONCE, and not worry about the absolutely, unbelievably horrible medal collecting. I don't really care about the hubs, so point and click is fine. And 2 worlds not being there is fine, I guess, as long as I don't need to repeat werehog stages I'm okay with it :p
@crazytak3 oh regarding those two levels that have been removed. the tutorial stage is waaay better together with eggmanland which is ten times better than the freakin 360 version.. besides, you don't have to scavengerhunt for medals in the wii. you get them according to your grades, AND THEY ARE NOT MANDATORY...I hate what they did in the 360 and ps3. Adabat while being a awesome level lagged as hell.and the loadings were to frequent as the game went on, while the final boss was horrible.
@crazytak3 those acts take like 3 to 4 minutes to beat as most of the werehog sections in the wiiversion are platformbased, and the level design is significantly better than the 360 who based it's gameplay further on the combat system instead.
Sure the 360 has it's amazing moment, but I think it lacks the overall polish the wii was granted. just stating a different reflection
@tarkeke eh, sonic team might be more comfortable with the wii hardware, but the 360 version was superior in graphics and level design. (if you have any questions download the dlc) In colors, it looks like the levels are a big barren and sluggish. At least no werehog...yet..
@FeelingFreshSon the 360 had good level design for the sonic levels, but the werehog sections in the 360 were honestly bland compared to wii version. that's what I think anyway. there were much more platforming on the wii with better camera interaction. and I actually liked the artistic blurring style the wii went with. it was eye candy^^ 360 had some technical issues, like horrible lag at adabat (otherwise fucking awesome stage) but at the other side I like eggmanland and holoska for wii better

@MrPuppetBoy no it isn't it's a retro game with spruced up graphics because they no longer have the hardware/software restrictions that they had with sonic 1,2 and 3 and thus have no reason to put it back into 16 bit.... which actually makes perfect sense.
also i can't imagine the levels being that much different apart from a few extra, some new level names and maybe a save button...

I loved sonic adventure battle 2 but it did get annoying with the cutscenes and other characters breaking up play. This looks like the purest sonic experience of all 3d sonic games so far, cut away the pointless fat and you get a pure gaming experience. That's where mario galaxy went right compared to sunshine now I'm hoping colors does the same for sonic.

@uzimakishadow yep, the only reason I got a 360 is because it was cheaper and there were more players and more to do online than there was for Ps3. FPS are really the only things that makes 360 sell better. but the Wii pwns all systems :)

I like the wii. 2nd, I don't really care for FPS I just play them for fun, but I will always play Sonic to the Fullest over any other game cuz Sonic is the reason why I started playing games back in the Genesis Days. I always go back to the old skool games. I still play unleashed and I cant wait for Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic 4 to come out.

i don't like the concept of a candy stage - that seems more like mario kind of stuff. you know, a candy factory or something as a level ... sonic always had levels with themes that were halfway believable like a space station or forest.
i really would like them to finally remove the ranking system - the first sonic games didn't have them. not that i don't try to get a good rank sometimes myself, but it kinda puts you under pressure. sonic colors is the only game i am so looking forward to!

@crazytak3 because it is incredibly slow and horrible, it is a very, very bad attempt at an action platformer which is why it's horrible. On the 360 and PS3, you have to suffer even more because it has crap Medal collecting making you do the stupid werehog stages over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until you break the game disc.

@crazytak3 The werehog stages were extremely repetitive, but I would be TOTALLY fine if I just went through them ONCE. But the medal collecting ruined EVERYTHING, which is why I'm gonna buy the Wii version. Whoever thought of medal collecting needs to be permanently banned from being involved in games.

@yoyoyo88665 Im glad you asked. Reason #1 sonics boost isnt infinite regardless of getting rings. Reason #2 point and click hub worlds. Reason #3 two levels are removed. Reason #4 the werehog combat system is crap. Reason #5 all day time levels are notoriously short. If those reasons dont work then this has to, since you hate the werehog so much its fair to warn you that its not just one level, they are acts four at best. Ofcourse if you still want it thats ok I just gave you a heads up.

The werehog was HORRIBLE in the 360 and ps3 versions, but it would be okay if I just had to go through those stages ONCE, and not worry about the absolutely, unbelievably horrible medal collecting. I don't really care about the hubs, so point and click is fine. And 2 worlds not being there is fine, I guess, as long as I don't need to repeat werehog stages I'm okay with it :p

@crazytak3 oh regarding those two levels that have been removed. the tutorial stage is waaay better together with eggmanland which is ten times better than the freakin 360 version.. besides, you don't have to scavengerhunt for medals in the wii. you get them according to your grades, AND THEY ARE NOT MANDATORY...I hate what they did in the 360 and ps3. Adabat while being a awesome level lagged as hell.and the loadings were to frequent as the game went on, while the final boss was horrible.

@crazytak3 those acts take like 3 to 4 minutes to beat as most of the werehog sections in the wiiversion are platformbased, and the level design is significantly better than the 360 who based it's gameplay further on the combat system instead.
Sure the 360 has it's amazing moment, but I think it lacks the overall polish the wii was granted. just stating a different reflection

@tarkeke eh, sonic team might be more comfortable with the wii hardware, but the 360 version was superior in graphics and level design. (if you have any questions download the dlc) In colors, it looks like the levels are a big barren and sluggish. At least no werehog...yet..

@FeelingFreshSon the 360 had good level design for the sonic levels, but the werehog sections in the 360 were honestly bland compared to wii version. that's what I think anyway. there were much more platforming on the wii with better camera interaction. and I actually liked the artistic blurring style the wii went with. it was eye candy^^ 360 had some technical issues, like horrible lag at adabat (otherwise fucking awesome stage) but at the other side I like eggmanland and holoska for wii better
