  • The horse is so cute *-* :DD

  • LOL, anyone who thinks this is horse abuse is obviously not a horseperson, or hasn't been one for very long. Hydrotherapy like this for horses is very common, and very good for their helath.

Horses are almost like dogs in the way that all or most (I haven't found a horse yet that can't) can swim. I go swimming with my yearling in the river behind my house. He lifts his upper lip when he paddles around sometimes, makes him look adorable x)

  • i'm i the only one who think's horses look absolutely adorable when they swim? ^^

  • @Noxamfox Nope ^.^

  • @Noxamfox nope!

  • @ anontheOP exactally. But so should women but atleast someone is on my side

  • my horse would be like "haha, you are so funny...wait r u serious?! OH HELL NO BITCH I AINT GOING IN THERE!! N-O. no.no.no.its not happening pull all you want im not going. ok well i think we're done here soo ima go back to my pasture when you return to sanity come give me a treat and i will think about forgiveing you."

  • mecza konia ale kon sie orzezbia

  • So that's how they bathe horses. (I'm kidding of course.)

  • wow what an amazing pony xxxxxxx

  • @minecrafter1254 Hey, I have arthritis and joint problems and I go swimming for precisely the same reason!

If it's good for me, it can be good for most other critters, too.

  • Nice:D But what are he ropes for??

  • @starshine9900 To hold the horse steady incase it panics.

  • i want a pool like this for my pony!

  • pędzi jak rakieta. :D

  • awwww thats so cute!!!

  • Wow, thats the best way of horse thearapy ive ever seen! I wish my stables had one of thoes!

  • Welcome to the horse wash

  • This is a type of therapy for horses.

  • ware can i get a pool like taht?!

  • its for a few seconds the horse didnt show that has any serious problem just a slight discomfort, but even if you touch them they do it in the beginning...

  • wow Im all about animal's rights but this is clearly something good for the horse. No abuse involved from what I can see. And Im a crazy animal right's person, but Im not retarded. Swimming is good for them, and for lots of animals, he wasn't being forced underwater or beat over the head, it was a quick swim then out he goes. Gawd people get over yourselves!

  • iGNORANT people are more than willing to flap their lips about something they know NOTHING about. Hey animal rights people - hows about you RESEARCH? I am pro-animal too but I HOLD MY FUCKING TONGUE if I am not EDUCATED ON THE SUBJECT.

an ignorant man often have his mouth open, wise men often keep them closed.

  • my had therapy like that! it good for them

  • this is so good for horses. iv seen people just put horses in their own pool and then they cant get out and thats not good but this is clearly designed for this so there is nothing wrong.

  • @JacksonDeanna LMAO how is this abuse you clearly have no idea about horses

  • are you kidding me? this is not animal abuse! obviously the horse was swimming... plus there are two leads attached to the horse to keep him from drowning..I think horses like it..

  • So true x

  • Okay. For everyone who thinks that this is animal abuse you are WRONG! Swimming is VERY good for them. Depending on what kind of injury has occurred it can be a lifesaver. So before you go around saying things untrue please talk to an expert.

  • want that at our stable too :( such a great invention

  • Its not abuse, my horse, abuses me, when he randomly decides to try to go in a pond and play in the water. Only way you could call this abuse would be if the horse did not like water and was fighting them on getting in, it obviously went in just fine and more then likely enjoyed it.

  • Horses are natural swimmers Camargue horses have to swim across lakes in the wild

  • I learned something new today. I didn't know horses could swim.

  • @dancagurli That`s nice of you to admit that you didn`t know it; most people say that they knew something allready even if they didn`t. :)

  • It's Equine Hydrotherapy, it's actually a fantastic way to maintain the fitness, and probably better on the horse than riding (i don't mean it in the sense that riding is bad). The joints and muscles aren't absorbing impact like they would on the ground, reducing things like splints and uses the majority of the muscles. Same for humans and animals...most people would probably prefer swimming for a few minutes than running on a hard ground. If introduced to it correctly, horses can find it nice

  • @lilfreakcaff That's what we use our pool here for. We have a small point-to-point & rehab yard- we cool ours that work outside off after their work in the pool, and we also have horses sent to us for rehabilitation with back issues, etc. that prevent them from receiving treatment/work they need from a rider... Works very well!

  • @lilfreakcaff Hmm, interesting. How cold/warm is the water usually?

  • It isnt just therapy, for racehorses it is commonly used because it stretches the horses muscles out, and after a long workout this is used to cool down the horse. Like many of you are saying it's easy for the horse to get out of, well it is. Infact all the horse has to do is turn around.

  • @ThePrizedPossession it is also used for race horses for the simple reason it builds muscle up fast it can , as the horses hae a denser object to go through (water) some people dont realise that horses are natural swimers and once in water love it

  • aww soo cute... its not abuse if the horse is having fun tbh.. most horses love swimming i cant wait to take dior to the beach and go for a swim:)<3!

  • what do they call these places?

  • @eaglehawk111 stables? lol

  • @eaglehawk111 equine hydrotherapy centres

  • Man that horse swims better then a Chincoteague pony xD

  • Its good for their muscels, and helps them jump. Its just training!

  • ya its realy good for them

  • yeah. seriously guys. havent you ever heard of the Chinquagatue (sp??)n pony swim? they hold it every year, idk where, but ik they have like HUNDREDS of ponies swimming from this one island to another12 ITS SOOO COOL! lol

  • @MelodyGrl09 Yep! I live over in Maryland and visit Asiqtique Island often and get to see the wild ponys that they take to Chinquagtue =]

  • @Patrickdrums6732 OMG THATS SOOO COOL!!! lol

  • why would people say this is abuse? its not like horses CAN'T swim.

  • Pourquoi??

  • horses are amazing swimmers despite their size, weight, and having hooves

  • I bet my horse would love this, he loves water, it would help his tendons as well.

  • I have one of these for my orse and he loves it and it has a treadmill so he can walk trot and canter adn it helps keep his muscule tone and sometimes ill even get on him when hes in the water!

  • wow!! amazing! I envy such facilities. all hoses should have a chance to swim from time to time. it id great fun and good for health, helping them develop muscles. lucky you to have such a pool:)

  • Pi**es me off when people comment saying something's cruel when they don't have a f*cking clue what the hell they're on about............it's a pool, not causing any pain, not exploitation, not stressing the horse etc. so just shut up and get your facts right before being negative about sh*it you know f*ck-all about....arseholes...

  • they use swimming pools like that to train the race horses it helps build up the musscle and stamina

  • was es alles gibt..also nee

  • super la piscine pour chevaux !

  • Comment removed

  • @verookhe

  • People shut up. really . It's not cruel . horses know how to swim. it's obviously made, the pool, for something like this. and HELLO the horse wouldent just "swim" it would thrash . there was a reason it was there. and they held the rope to lead him threw it, it's not like they were pulling like all heck.

  • it's obviously therapy! who has such a swimming pool? and the horse can get out really easy and all so no animal abuse, swimming is good for them! (depends on the water though)

  • @PoulnabroneModesty yeah and why would they just holed the horses head up....... horses know how to swimm

  • @toontown1111 It's not to hold his head up, it's so he doesn't turn around or not move through the pool and just stays in one place, or if he panics because horses do. Security line, think kids.

  • they just wanna make sure nothing goes wrong

  • i defo dont like animal cruelty . this is not animal cruelty . horses like to swim , not all of them but some do . also this may have been a theraputicle swim . often swimming loosens muscle etc so therefore is used after serious injury .

  • ok if that was a dog no one would have a problem throwing it in a pool. its a horse lets treat it like one dont think over thousands of years horses never had to swim to stay alive. plus just like the elderly working in water takes weight off their bones but they can still get the exercise to recuperate if injured.

  • How would you know ? Are you some horse expert ? Stop being such a downer on everything . Swimming can be good 4 a horse .

  • @Barneygirl678543 ... re read my comment and rethink ur reply lol... I said in my comment it was good

  • @codyveitenheimer actually wild horses on islands have swam across wide rivers and are very good swimmers! even though only there head is above water this is no struggle! I agree with PoulnabroneModesty this is therapy! This is NOT animal abuse they do stay alive! Pluse it is only a short distance. and yes it is recuperating the horse

  • @unicornslayer1000 haha calm down buddy were on the same side here!

  • @codyveitenheimer actually you said that they have never stayed alive and I hate it when ideots keep flappin' their mouth when they have no idea what they are talking about. So no we are not on the same side.

  • @bylophillips they do that a lot for rehabbing injured horses... it's a lot less impact on their legs and less painful

  • eine Abkühlung gefälligst?? xD

  • haha i had a horse who was afraid of water... its cause once a fish...came out of the water and kinda tapped her nose...

    R.I.P :S

  • im sorry but thats such a cute image!!

of a fish jumping and tapping her nose and her being like :O "ommmg help me!!"

  • i aways go swimming with my horses, not in a pool but in the river and dam :)

  • Unnderwater tredmills are actually better for the horse because there able to stand and elevate there back, but still have the same force in the water. The results are much better

  • Hey there and make us the horses swim? : (

  • This is very common to do with horses with leg injuries that need to rebuild strength.

  • cool thanks yaaa

  • why swimming the horse

  • water physical therapy for horse

  • it not cool

  • water physical therapy for horse

  • my brother used a round pool to get a race mare fit to win two races :-)

  • water physical therapy for horse! Man would I love to have had one of these for a horse I worked with a few years back. He was injured in a scuffle with another horse, and we were told he might never do more than walk. He recovered to perfect health, and is as fast as ever, but this would have sped up his recovery!

  • cutee

  • cute :) very sweet ♥

  • and the best thing for horses with hurt legs is that, because if they r overweight, they can exersize and it doesnt put pressure on their bones

  • they say that its good for the tendons in the horses legs...they use it for alot of race horses and show jumpers..

  • I worked in the biggest racing stables in the country and we used to swim our horses. It is good for their legs and especially in summer it's easier on them than having to do much in the heat (although we worked them in the morning before it got hot but once in the after noon they would have a bit of a walk). But yeah it's great for them especially with bad legs.

  • lol lets have a horsie olympics!!!!! go horsie go !!!!

  • So Cute!

  • does anyone know if swimming would help speed up recovery after having laminitis cause i dont know whether it would or not so if anyone knows please tell me

  • talk to your vet because it depends on the horses physical ability and if there is a possibility that it will help YOUR horse

  • shen jing bing

  • aww thats cute

  • seems like great exercise for horses,by those who can afford to get their barn a pool! lol

  • aww

  • Lol cuteeh !!

  • oh, I see.

  • why do they have to do that?

  • its for excercise or physical therapy from an injury or stuff like that. some thoroughbred famrs do that for there race horses for excercise

  • sometimes its for therapy and it's great exercise.

  • we my friend used to board had a pond in the pasture. Marty used to swim in it all the time.

  • hydrotherapy

  • its not bad a horse might be hot an wanna go 4 a swim (lol) some horses enjoy swimming

  • My mother had one of these in TX. It had a treadmill at the bottom.

  • y do they do that

  • Excersize. Oh, and also rehabilitation. =)

  • nice horse! i wish i could get my horse a swimming pool! lol

ive also seen a treadmill underwater for horses! (their head is ovbisily above water) geez all these training things!

  • I know where this is lol ! I live nearlty next door . lol

  • lol horses love swimming the wild, this horse was proberbly a race horse..they do this to them to help relax their muscles to remove tension, let them excersize their legs without wearing out and doesnt cause pain etc..if he didnt like it he would have struggled, thrash out his legs, toss his head to get rid of the headcollar ropes or somthing =]=]

  • omg how can horses swim with thier skinny bone legs?!?! O.o

  • Actually, horses can swim amazingly well. :) Some horses even enjoy swimming and will voluntarily take a swim in a large pond. They aren't very efficient swimmers and can tire quickly, but they can swim well enough to cross narrow channels from one island to another, or to cross a narrow river. Every year on Pony Penning Day, feral Chincoteague Ponies are driven into the water and then swim from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island. :)

  • yeah mine had to swim with me once. We hit a drop off in the river and she had to swim for a couple strides.

  • @mnniemouse12 do you realize how many muscles a horse has? and how powerful they are? ..

  • deg pour le cheval !!

  • they can

  • Could horses naturally swim?

    Or is it a talent?

  • yes

  • Gorgeous horse! I soo want a horse swimming pool for my stabel when i grow up! Heard they can be a pretty penny though....

  • nice horse ;)

  • hey one ? is he a racer

  • this is the best training for horses

  • COOL! The pony I used to ride could swim. Except or pool was round.

  • omg thats sooo cool

  • wow that horse was beautiful

  • He is beutiful! :D

  • Can I just askl why two people are at the horses sides? Why not one peep leading him?

  • special therapy. easier w/ one peep

  • No, I'm stll a little confuzzeled...

    Oh well :]

    I see where your getting at :}

  • To help keep his head stable. It works better with two people. And its safer also.

  • my horse would only do that if there was a huge bag of hay and a bag of grain waiting for him at the other end XD

  • thats so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hes really pretty! what was wrong with him?

  • Cooool buth.

  • wow, wimming must be really good for their muscles and stuff.. maybe i should inquire about it to see if my arabian can use it to get fit for endurance races

  • It would probably be AMAZIGN to building up endurance in horses... Its nice and low inpact for their legs and it helps with their muscles. I'd see what I could find if i were you

  • where did u go to get that done??

    btw it was really cool

  • thats so cool!

  • I swim my gelding to get his lungs and muscles up to shape for shows. He goes once a week and does a few laps in the pool...Its suchhhh an amazing way to get them in shape and tests them in way working then for an hour doesnt.

  • thats so cool! and a fast horse to

  • Thats so adorable :D

haha. I never really saw a horse swim before. I knew they did it to some horses after procedures so they didn't get disorientated and hurt themselves.

  • the horse want to take the gold medal from Michael Phelps, in next Olimpic Games.

  • was he injured,...only asking cause my friends quarter horse was injured falling on the ice and this exact therapudic swimming pool was use in his rehabilitation.... they are amazing for rebuilding lost muscel.

  • Exercise

  • what is the point of this exactly...im not saying its bad or its wrong just what purpose does it serve?

  • Useually the horse was hurt in some way or another and swimming is a good way to get them used to using thier muscles again, and its easier than walking. Swimming is also a great way to excersise and build muscle even if the horse isn't hurt. And sometimes the horse in question just likes swimming, I mean not many people, dogs, or horses mind swimming if its hot.

  • i never even knew people did that...that pool must be expensive...thanx for telling me!

  • thats cool

  • stupid english !!!!

  • cute!!! ur smart unlike others who just letb their horses swim in their pool in their back yards and they hurt them selfs trying to get out!

  • wow that horse is so cute!! and really likes the water my pony would freak lol.

  • me and my sister and our horses go to the river, which is about a 5 minute drive from our house, we trailer out in the summer and swim them... I love to swim on them. It feels so awesome. We stand on their backs and stuff... it's so much fun
