  • Actually, to NOT believe in the POSSIBILITY of God IS very un scientific.

BUT, Atheism goes ALONG with the Bible... because we were given free will.

I DO believe in God, and know in my heart that He does NOT want blind faith from His followers.

  • Does Kelly have a last name?

  • This debate was laughable on BOTH fronts as far as I am concerned.

We have two very intelligent people like Brian and Kelly presenting a case for atheism. A better opponent for this debate would have been a near-death experiencer or one who studies the phenomenon.

But instead, the Rational Response Squad chose to waste their time debating a couple of creationist yokels like Ray and Kirk.

And NDEer would have had a hard enough time with Brian and Kelly. Ray and Kirk were a JOKE!

  • Kirk Cameron was a draw for viewers.

  • Only for the closeted gays.

  • Great series.

  • The main problem with that debate was that RRS weren't given enough time to answer all the "arguments" :p

  • It's the usual shotgun-spread argument style that most Christian-types use. So much crap at one time you can't respond to it all, then they run with what you didn't get to.

  • Exactly, I don't remember who said it (heck, could've been dechha) about VFX, but it applies to most christians and creationists: It's like a yarn ball of tangled up fallacies and it would take hours on end to unravel the whole thing (on why many atheists don't argue against VFX's videos and instead just ridicule him).

  • "It's the usual shotgun-spread argument style that most Christian-types use." -

True: The only viable approach to this tactic is to select out the fallacies - one at a time - ordered from the most egregious or laughable and obvious to the lesser and stay on that issue until it's pulverized.

It's known as focus in the face of flimflam in some circles.

  • The problem comes, specifically, in formal debates where you simply don't have the time for it.

Additionally, there are further attempts to derail the subject by tacking on more ignorance to your rebuttals.

  • That's why I said it's necessary to go "from the most egregious or laughable and obvious to the lesser and STAY on that issue until it's pulverized.

It requires the same level of aggressive focus as the theist's intention to scatter and divert attention.

You can't allow progression or dismissal until you're done with their first flaw or you'll get nowhere.

  • Kirk - That was how I acted as an atheist therefore that is how every atheist everywhere acts.

    Oh that makes perfect sense.

  • I really cant stand Ray Comfort,he's such a con job.Kirk is just a fawning slobbering absent minded believer. They really looked ridiculous in this debate. Thanks dechha!

  • Non-sequiter, appeal to authority, appeal to emotion, appeal to ignorance...

I don't think I can list any more fallacies without my head exploding.

  • I think they used pretty much all of them except for ad hominem, heh.

  • i really can't stand the girl on the non-got side she is so annoying. her point are spot on and she is super smart but i can't stand her. good videos dechha when ever i watch ur videos i can't figure out how u only have like a bit over 1000 subscribers ur videos are so smart and good. keep it up i get way to happy when i go to youtube and see a video up by you.

  • KIrk is very fucked up, seriously, He's trying to do ANYTHING to make the audience believe, he's damn desperate.

  • my Unicron make another cameo. . I am so proud of him.

As to this set of videos I can't really think of any point I don't see eye to eye with you on. Frankly the creationists did exactly what they said they would not do (Thou shalt not lie) and only asked that people be afraid and give themselves to God.

I don't fear death, I'm afraid of how it might happen, but death itself does not scare me because I know that I will use every day I have on earth, and not hope of the pot of gold.

  • "tell them what they can or can do morally especially;"

Immoral assholes, who tell us to stone rebellious children to death?

If you have to turn off your own morality and sense of empathy to follow a god, or religion or any other ideology for that matter than you need to consider the ultimate question "is this a good thing"

  • WotM main arguement seems to be "basically have completely and utter faith in god, and he will reviel himself". So you basically have to BE a christian, to BELIEVE in christianity.

    Thats ridiculous.

  • *DING DING DING DING!*

    We have a winner!

Christianity is a synonym for circular reasoning!

  • There's an interview with Ray and Kirk after this debate. You might want to find that, Dechha.

  • Good series, so now what next :)

  • This series has brought my atheism battery to full charge against stupidity. I thank you decha

  • Fun to watch, if a bit frustrating at times :P Thanks dechha.

  • I'd love to see a debate format that if a debater breaks the rules of a debate, they get an electric shock.

So... how many times would Kirk and Comfort light up for mentioning the Bible?

  • I think if they were shocked every time they said something that they already agreed they wouldn't, their bodies would be available for purrchase at KFC as "Extra Crispy".

  • I give this series 70 stars.

  • i said it before, and ill say it again, they never intended on debate, they saw an opportunity to spread their word of god, to preach to millions that they dont get the chance to reach.

as far as the debate actually goes, they were handed their own asses. and the two from RRS werent that convincing and still destroyed them.

  • Great job! i really enjoy your videos. Keep it up man!

  • Bravo! 5*

  • My conscience makes me feel guilty about degrading my IQ, so I can't do their little experiment. My conscience won't let me.

  • Good job on this series! 5 Star

  • If you believe in God (christian) why would you fear death? The only reasons I can think of are going to hell or your have major doubts about the whole afterlife thing.

  • Brilliant series.
