These "$500" cars were kind of a joke. Everything was done in the "name of safety" sine there was no dollar limit to that. Nothing but magazine and media cars were in the race this year, with secret head porting, cheater cams, roll caged engine compartments, hi-po shocks, gutted interiors, these were nothing more than budget built race cars with beat up skins. NONE of the cars last year handled this well. The magazines and media have totally killed this event, which is a shame.
Oh yeah, it's rediculous. There was a show on Speed Channel on Demand about a team that entered a car. I think it was a 1993 BMW 330, which obviously isn't a $500 car, but not only that, they put aftermarket springs, sway bars, shocks and crakes on the car. WELL over $500 right there, but yet, they still were allowed to race. What gives with that?
Totally agree.. the media cars completely strip away the community spirit of the race. I think all cars should be completely private entry-only. The race will no longer be fun. :(
Is this a go-cart track?

Are you serious about that? I am thinking about trying to enter a race but have never seen one in person. Has it truly become nothing but cheaters?

Considering that all vehicles must be purchased and prepped for 500 dollars, I'm guessing that there wasn't even an element in the race.
