  • This is the kind of stuff i want to know... i needed that close up angle to learn.

  • Dr Dave, I had you for MECH102 at CSU a couple years back. Just wanted to say that these videos are awesome. I would help spread the word about them but I'd rather keep beating my friends!

  • @Invictus8511

Thanks for the note. I hope things are going well for you.

Please spread the word. If your friends get better, you'll get better too. Just don't spread the word to your enemies. :)

    Regards,

    Dr. Dave

  • really nice video, thanks

  • and when i say "equipment" i kno the cue for jumping is the smaller portion of a jumpbreak cue (or a special jumping cue) which has a much harder tip, and the weight of the cue used for jumping is much less than that of a standard cue used for masse shots.

  • hey, i've been playing pool for about 2 years recreationally. I'm not exceptionally good or anything so i'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I've only experimented with jumping (i don't employ any jumping during games), and i've fooled around with masse-ing the ball when there is spare equipment around. it seems the aim on the cueball is relatively the same for last jumpshot in this video and a masse shot. Does the equipment account for most of the difference on the action on the cueball?

  • yes

  • Now this is the single most helpful video on jump shots I have ever seen - the only one in which one actually sees what happens either way (right or wrong, that is). Thanks so much for uploading this!

  • Thanks a lot for the video, i just recently learned to jump. Just wanted to let you know people are still watching and appreciating the content you've submitted.

  • Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Have you seen my new VEPS stuff? Check it out. Tom and I have worked really hard on this new project.
